This has got to be the worst hamburger place.. Never asked how everything was or if I would like a refill on my water. Waitress was very pleasant. When order was complete she did even deliver to me, the cook put on the counter for me to pick up. I get had better service at McDonald's. Personally I would not recommend this place. Cheap and cheerful burger joint in a strip mall near Costco. It looks like it could have been here 50 years without changing. The furnishings are plain and old, but I like the fact that the entire cooking area is completely open to view behind the counter. You can see that everything is clean and made from fresh ingredients. My daughter had the cheeseburger, which was great. It was made to order with cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, mustard and lightly toasted buns. It was delicious and cost just $6.50 with fries. I ordered the chili burger. I said yes when they offered it with cheese and onion. I expected a typical hamburger with chili on top--the kind you can eat with your hands. But what I got was beef patty and the two halves of the bun laid out across the plate and then completely covered with chili con carne, with two slices of processed cheese (yuck) on top. Look at my photo to see what I'm talking about. Not only was the chili burger not what I expected, it was kinda blah. The chili tasted like it was out of a can and the whole meal was salty. It was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday lunchtime and service was fast. I would give them 3.5 stars but I'm rounding it up to 4 because the woman serving us was so friendly and eager to make sure everything was just right. I moved to my new apartment days ago and Red Onion was closest to my place and part of a small Hispanic shopping center. The customer service was excellent. I had small chocolate milkshake, ham and cheese ( everything on it) sourdough sandwich, and French fries. The sandwich was amazing, good French fries. You can ask for ranch. Certainly recommend. Had a regular hamburger and a swiss cheeseburger with mushrooms, both with everything on them, and an order of fries (total was $18.20). The burgers were good, albeit constructed upside down with toppings underneath the meat (they're called toppings for a reason, right??). Patties could have been a bit thicker and juicier, but the flavor was good. They used a generous amount of mayonnaise which I appreciate. Also a healthy amount of red onion, which makes sense. The tomatoes were sliced abnormally thin, but it was still a tasty burger. Fries were good, a nice and chunky cut, and there were plenty of them. Overall good quality, better than a lot of burger shops, but a bit on the pricey side given nothing really stands out. My first impression when entering the restaurant was how clean it was! Everything was orderly and not a spot to be seen. I ordered a cheeseburger with half onion rings and half fries with ranch and it came out to $11.45. Was very satisfied! Proportions were great, meat was juicy and flavorful, and I got a generous serving of onion rings and fries. Definitely worth the money. The ranch was great too, and free. Seems like a cool neighborhood spot with regulars, I mentioned it was my first time and they were all very enthusiastic that I would enjoy it and they were absolutely right. I was craving a huge, traditional cheeseburger with the fixings. I have a couple of places I usually go to but thought I would look to see what yelp had to offer. Lo and behold, I found The Red Onion. The burger made my food dreams come true, tons of grilled onions and pickles, the bread was soft, meat was well cooked. Just a plain old delicious burger. The restaurant was incredibly clean, large, well lit. The food was ready promptly and the staff was very kind. It strikes me as being a mom and pop type place and I love to support local businesses. After having two okay experiences, yesterday was the absolute worse. Ater ordering a simple breakfast sandwich, I get home and give half a sandwich to m nephew. He said "ew" ! After I take a bite I notice the yoke was completely busyed where there was no egg, the waiter cut my sausages and half ! Basically undersold me. Returned and requested it be made over or receive half of the money back since half the samdwhih was eaten. The Red Onion is another burger joint, taking the place of what was formerly Maxi Burger. They kept the same cozy diner feel that Maxi had, and upgraded all of the appliances as well as cleaned up the dining room making it feel a little more modern. I stopped by today for lunch and ordered a simple cheeseburger and fries. When I saw the cook pull out a fresh patty and slap it on the flat top, I couldn't help but smile like a kid in a candy shop. Fresh burgers ladies and gentlemen. Instead of just letting it cook and walk away, he actually took the time in making sure the burger was cooked well. Which along with it being fresh is probably what made it taste so good. The burger was exactly what I wanted. Somewhere between cheap fast food burgers, and expensive gourmet burgers you get the diner burger. Sometimes that's all I want or need. A juicy burger, with wonderful flavor and served hot. Topped with gooey melted cheese, and fresh condiments. A tad more mayonnaise then I prefer, but easily fixed. Served with a side of hot fries. I watched them season the fries, but it could of used just a little more. They have the glass bottles of Heinz ketchup which I am not used to. I had some trouble with getting anything out and the woman who took my order, Sylvia, came to the rescue. She showed me the trick of basically karate chopping the bottle in a certain spot and bam, the ketchup came running out. I found out about this place on the Concord newly opened Businesses/restaurants. It is a Mom and Pop place that serves Lunch and Breakfast. It is tuck in a little shopping off of Monument but worth a try. I had tried their Chocolate Malt with the Bacon Cheeseburger minus the fries. The burger was a decent size with Onions (raw), Tomato, Lettuce and American Cheese and Bacon. The bun was a little bigger than patty but it was okay because it corralled all the ingredients from spilling out. The bun was also soft. The Chocolate Malt was the Star of the show. Nice thick consistency and not too shabby for $4 something. The price for Burger and Malt was a little over $10 and was perfectly portioned and price point for what you get.
