My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to go this past Saturday in celebration of my late father's birthday . We wanted to listen to live music and eat delicious, fresh homemade food . looking up speakeasies I stumbled upon the red room.I called at about 5 o'clock and we were able to get reservations at 8 o'clock for dinner . I'm so happy we canceled our other reservations to try this place out.. The location is tucked away, almost right off the freeway, but very private with an elegant entrance. when you walk in it's almost like being in Vegas in the 70s. We were seated at a high top at first, then switched to a booth. the owner Domenico makes you feel like family and the other gentleman (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name who set us ) was also top-notch. I had a dirty martini it was super icy with the perfect amount of dirty. My boyfriend had the Negroni and he loved it. We ordered the octopus, two pasta dishes, and the Arancini with the soufflé for dessert. I've never seen a soufflé that big yet it still had all the flavor. I'm very picky, especially when it comes to food and this establishment knows exactly what they're doing. I would highly recommend. Everything seems to be very consistent . I'm telling everybody about it and I will definitely be coming back.. the music was a mix of 80s , 70s and 60s The owner even sang a very beautiful Italian song. (I think it was the godfather in Italian.) Domenico had the band make a toast and asked the people in the audience to raise a glass to my late father's birthday. WOW! What a fun evening! I was thoroughly impressed by how amazing the experience was at the Red Room. I went with my friend Ruby and we enjoyed such a great night. We both loved the sexy decor, dim lighting and red walls. The food was top-notch. Lorenzo, the bartender, who has a fun quirky sense of humor, prepared the carpaccio in a cool and unique way. It was delicious. The octopus salad that I ordered as an entrée was fantastic. The selection of wines was superb. The staff was incredibly attentive. Eric, who was our waiter, was so sweet and fun! The ultimate was Dominico the owner, who made sure to check in with us several times throughout the evening to make sure we were having a great time... And yes, we were! He is Italian and brings great charm to the venue. He makes you feel special and very welcomed. The staff is international and they can speak several languages. I am from France and my friend is from Peru and all evening long we were conversing in Italian, Spanish and French. Being there made me feel like I was back home. The owner Domenico is so warm and welcoming, the food is incredible, authentic Italian cuisine, spirits are exquisite, service is top notch, and the live music and ambiance transport you to another place and time. If I could make this 10 stars, I would! The best date night we've experienced in Orange County. The Red Room has an exclusive, red carpet entrance that makes you feel like a VIP. We were seated in a luscious red booth in between the live music and the bar, which was full of glamorous people on a Saturday night and stocked with the best of the best spirits. We ordered martinis--mine was the Fig flavored one and it was DELICIOUS! My fiancé is very picky but he loved the dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. The owner, Domenico, is incredible; he personally brought out appetizer and prepared it at our table. He is so friendly, warm, and an expert at Italian food. His Chef is from Sicily so the dishes transported you to another world. We ordered the short rib which melted in our mouths and the Canneloni con Mortadella. DELISH! I don't think you could go wrong with any of the Italian dishes--and there are plenty. Please do yourself a favor and visit this hidden gem in Costa Mesa. Attention to detail was clearly noticeable. The red carpet walk way with the twinkling lights is a beautiful way to start the evening. Came to the Red Room with a group of 10 friends to celebrate a 50th birthday. Dinner was great from the appetizers, entrees and dessert. I recommend the arancini and carpaccio for appetizers. The pasta dishes were great, but I recommend the branzino and short ribs, they tasted delicious. The soufflé was a perfect ending to a tasty dinner. Our wait staff was exceptional and they were on their toes and gave us good recommendations for dinner and drinks. The atmosphere was great, and we all loved the feel of the room. The red room feels sexy and comfortable and the live music adds to the atmosphere. After dinner we went into their celebrations room were we were entertained with 10 comedians. This was the first night having a comedy club. They had some great names like Kevin Nealon and Craig Robinson. We had a great time, with drinks flowing and great comedians. After the comedy club we went back into the Red Room for more drinks and to listen to the live music. I really don't know another place in Orange County that you can experience all this in one stop. We had a great time and all of us said we would come again for dinner and entertainment. Domenico, the owner, is such a great host.
