We had so much fun. We were the first to enter on Saturday night. Ordered up some delicious cocktails. Had the most attentive server. Enjoyed a beet salad, some brussel sprouts, fried chicken, pork roast and carrot cake. Everything was delicious and incredibly hot. The ambience is cozy and fantastic. There are two tables for two and a bar that could seat 5-6. Loved our entire time there and would definitely return.

In my continued search for speakeasy bars, this has long been on my list. Great atmosphere indoors: inconspicuous, dimly-lit entrance; intimate bar (9 stools at the bar top and two 2-person tables; attractive decor and deep wood with intricate carvings). Additional seating is also available outdoors but it wouldn't feel like a speakeasy bar to me, with the sun still out and especially with people passing by. We kept losing that "speakeasy vibe" each time the door was opened (and left open). What I don't understand is if they don't take reservations (according to their website), how was it that both of the comfortable 2-person tables had been reserved? Nonetheless, we had a great time -- thanks to JT, who made our experience a very enjoyable one! He was knowledgeable, friendly (those at the host desk can certainly learn from him!), professional, attentive, and creative. Looking forward to returning; next time, we'll order food. Great find!

Speakeasy that's located inside of Arc. You can order same food menu in here as well. I tried 3 drinks: -Three company similar to old fashion but a thinner taste. This was my favorite. -Sazarac- it has a licorish flavor to it. If you like that you will like this drink -Paper plane- was a good drink I think all the drinks were descent but was it a speakeasy level not really. The staff seemed so busy they didn't have time to talk to customers which I think gives a speakeasy the little extra touch. Also it's not that private- there's a patio that you can sit outside and it's open. The entrance is neat.

It's easy to speak highly of this speakeasy. The decor was spot on and took me back to the days of swilling a bit of illegal hooch with a killer flapper dress. It's actually part of ARC, whose motto is "dirty sexy fun", which could probably be arranged after a few libations here. I came on a Thursday night and the crowd was pleasantly light. I had the cigarettes and coffee, which was a nice twist on a Manhattan and very well made. I'm interested to try a few others another time when I'm not driving. You can order the full menu at the bar, and there is plenty of parking. They have music on weekend nights. I was highly pleased with my visit here.

    Chopped salad. Definite go-to

This place gets me every time. Best vibes, fantastic service, and crazy delicious food. The charred brussels sprouts, chopped salad and cheese pizza are our go to's (kind of religiously) and they never disappoint.

Beautiful bar that's tucked behind ARC though truthfully not very hidden if you're entering from the center of the plaza/next to Pueblo. No signage outside but there is an entrance with velvet ropes that indicate a queue. Very simple and straightforward drink menu that does lean on the pricey end, but all drinks were solid and tasted to our personal preferences. Your Call is something they come up with on the spot based on your choice of liquor, flavoring, and style. My gin drink was solid, and so was "Your Girlfriend" which changes daily. Tonight's was a Sazerac that was super smooth and just right. This spot makes for a perfect date night when you want to have some intimacy in your conversations along with a good drink and not worry about crowds... for now.

Roasted Brussels sprout is always a MUST for us.

A hidden extension of the actual Arc restaurant located in Costa Mesa with a speakeasy vibe. Food was nicely plated to please the eyes but, also delivered the punch with flavor. This hidden gem is easily accessible with decent parking. What takes this review from a 4 star rating to a HIGH 5 was our bartender/waiter Scottie! He was absolutely awesome with service from beginning to end. He assisted with food recommendation which made the night that much easier and more enjoyable when it comes to 5 women trying to agree on shareable plates. Thank you Captain Scotch...kidding. Thank you much Scottie for making our first time experience at The Guild Club a memorable night filled with laughter, great conversation, and a full belly!

The Twain. The GC's old fashioned

A much needed speakeasy in Orange County that incites feelings of secrecy, intimacy, and mischief. Couple that with heavy handed cocktails and beautiful marbled/wood paneled decor? It's the perfect recipe for a nightcap after a good date. You can find The Guild Club at the posterior end of ARC restaurant, but there is also an entrance that is adjacent to Pueblo. Despite not having a sign, a pair of velvet ropes will lead the way. Inside has stool side seating that can accommodate 6-7 people. There are also 2 tables and 4 leather chairs that is the preferred space for a date--all of which are first come, first serve so you can imagine the exclusivity. The cocktail menu is limited to 7 beverages that are on the steep end ($20), but your bartender will ensure you get the most bang for your buck as these drinks are heavy and bound to buzz. I'm an old fashioned lover so the Twain was exquisite. It consists of Michter's 10 year whiskey, angostura bitters, and the perfect hand cut iced rock. Fries were fried in duck fat and were pleasing to the palate. The watery catsup left a little bit to be desired though. Regardless, I cannot wait to come back to try their other booze and bites ------- Final bite: This tiny speakeasy offering booze and bites will most likely become a local favorite among many. I debated if I should even yelp it to keep this spot for myself, but my altruistic ways took over :). To maximize the speakeasy feel, I urge the owners of the Guild Club to take away the velvet rope entrance, but I imagine it's against city fire codes. Regardless, I will most definitely be a regular at this bar. Extra notes: - Accepts credit card -The Guild Club closes at 11PM! Yelp listing says it closes at 9:00PM. -Associated with the ARC restaurant, but drinks here are 10 times better than what is offered at the ARC. -At the OC Mix -If sitting at the two tables, your bartender will come to you--no need to order at the bar -Love the decor and spiraling staircase! Reminds me of a bar that belongs in New York -Excellent service -Restrooms linked with the ARC--clean

We've been here a few times before and always thought it was decent. So, we made the last minute reservation online and got here 15 minutes early. When we arrived, there was a short line, but per the reservation instructions, one of my friends went in to check in while we waited outside. Friend: Hi, I'm checking in for a reservation. Bartender: What time is your reservation. Friend: 10 Bartender: What time is it now? Friend: 9:45 Bartender: Then I'll see you at 10pm. Friend came back annoyed and explained what happened. The bartender didn't say it in a joking way, but with attitude and annoyance. Most staff would respond "Thank you for checking in, we will let you know when your table is available." We weren't going to let this ruin our night, so we waited and were seated by the hostess. The bar itself is dimly lit and very tight. The music was loud enough that we had to almost yell to hear each other. The waiter came by soon after and was extremely friendly. We said we'd been here a few times before, but it's been a while. He refreshes our memory by saying they specialize making variations of classics. They want customers to focus on the flavors and that's why the menu doesn't list the spirit in their drinks. Also, they only make drinks on the menu because their drinks are prebatched/premade. We ask for recommendations which he was happy to give. We each order a drink and a snack for the table. As we're talking (very loudly so we can hear each other), we lose track of time before we realize that it's been 20 minutes and we haven't gotten our drinks yet. For something that's prebatched, it shouldn't take long. Before we can flag down the waiter, he comes by and apologizes that they lost our order and had to put it back in. We appreciate the honesty and say it's no problem. 5 minutes later, our drinks and food arrives. He again apologizes for the wait and has a second order of our food that he's including for free. Honestly we were ok with just the apology, but extra food too? Hell yea. Sounds like it was turning around. The drinks were okay. Not amazing, but definitely above average 3.8 / 5. The snack, bread and butter, were surprisingly good. 4.5 / 5 When we asked for the check, the waiter brought the credit card reader and told us we can swipe our card any time and left it on our table. We look at the bill and realize the waiter not only gave us the 2nd snack for free, but comp'd 2 of the drinks also. We all agree this waiter is GREAT. So why the 2 stars? Well first let me say, I would leave it at 1 star, but the waiter definitely earned them another. We wanted to pay cash, so we waited for him to come back. Instead, the original rude bartender comes by and realizes we haven't paid yet. We ask if we can pay with cash. He explains that they don't accept cash. Friend: Are you sure? *Proceeds to try to insert cash into the chip reader slot* Bartender: You're pretty stupid, aren't you? Friend: Maybe if I swipe it instead *Doubles down and proceeds to swipe the cash through the magnetic strip reader* Bartender: Wow, you really are stupid. My friend is a 100% a goofball and having fun with the bartender. It was OBVIOUS that he was joking. Was it funny? A little. Was it stupid? 100%. But for the bartender or ANY customer service staff to call a paying customer "stupid", that's simply unacceptable. We're all pretty pissed at this point and simply swipe the card and the bartender leaves. As I said earlier, we've come here a few times. We don't live especially close, but when we're in the area, we would always consider coming here. Now, there's no chance. For any business, even if your drinks and food are great, customer service can easily DESTROY your experience and that's exactly what the bartender did. Note to the male bartender with no hair: You really shouldn't be interacting with customers. You were rude from the start and have no sense of humor. Could you be having a bad day? Sure, but that's not an excuse to be rude to customers. I know management saw my original post because it was removed, probably because I referred to the bartender by his hairstyle (or lack thereof) multiple times. If they rather remove my post than deal with their bartender, that's another sign to avoid this place.
