Bartender's were friendly. Drinks were strong enough at typical dive bar prices. Band was great on a Saturday night. A happy, mixed crowd danced all night. My only complaint is the bar is on the smaller side and the pool table is right smack in the middle so people dancing were running into pool cues. If they moved the pool table to the back and brought the stage up to the front of the bar, the place would be even better. I will be going to Regal Bar again. read more

I came here with a friend while visiting from Milwaukee. They have a nice outdoor fire pit & seating area, free pool til 7pm & a fairly good staff behind the bar. Drinks are eh- moderately priced. The ambiance is nice. I'd probably go back. read more

Drink prices are too high for me, but some day they will come to their senses on lowering the prices on the drinks. If you like to play pool, they got that there, but its called regal bar for a reason as a customer has informed us just as much as I know as well that they do have happy hour, beer pong tournaments Monday , live trivia, karaoke, so its like a play yard for adults to get to know eachother and have fun. read more

I love playing pool so it's great they offer decent pool tables which you don't see in many bars they were pretty busy when I went in which made it really loud inside but the patio is quiet and very chill decent service decent prices overall an ok experience read more

Went back to this bar a year after giving it a bad review, even though I thought I'd never return, I figured "Hey, what the heck, they might have changed their ways!" Nope. Bad service again, bar "waitress" was cold as ice and angry. There were a couple of Mexicans trying to act like ex-cons all dressed up in their weak attire, and the rest of the crowd was trying to pretend they were in PB,and so cool they must be found here so people could admire them acting cool. You know, very un La Mesa like people who are usually happy and down to earth like the people two doors down at Pete's Place. I wanted so much to give this place a good review after feeling like I might have experienced an isolated incident last time, but I had it right the first time. Setting up a pack of self serving ridiculous regulars ain't winning this place any stars, but at least they're all starting to congregate together so they'll stay out of the cool places. This place ain't cool, it's chilly, and chilly ain't never been cool. Soon all their customers will migrate to a new place where they'll try their cool act in yet another attempt to impress somebody by acting like they still don't live with their parents. Reminds me of bars I used to bounce on under 18 show nights. Like four virgins sitting in a convertible Porsche out front with the top down playing Sail Away by the Celtic women and trying to get laid but are petrified to move from the weak joint they just split. If you want a good laugh, stop by. This place is a real satire. Undeserving to be in the heart of one of the greatest spots in San DIego .PB belongs in PB, this crowd belongs in their bedrooms getting their degrees instead of playing video games, and the wanna be biker or two that hangs out here deserve to be called bikers like Elvis deserved to be called a blackbelt. lost this karaoke dj! the bar is nice, the drinks are reasonably priced and it's in a great location. it does get a little crowded after 11 and there isn't a ton of seating. they do have two nice pool tables too. read more

Love this place. Always have a good time here, whether it's a tuesday night for a beer, the summer car shows, or during oktoberfest they always have good service and smiles on their faces. Decent beers on tap, free popcorn, and an patio out back with a fire pit. read more

Amazing place, great atmosphere. I always come here with my friends and we are now regulars here. Bartenders are amazing, especially Antonio. Great tap selection as well. They have a pool table as well as a shuffleboard. The Regal has their own patio which has a nice fireplace. This place always has me coming back because of good drinks, and friendly people. HORRIBLE BARTENDERS. Went here last night with a few friends everything seemed ok til the end. My boyfriend and his friends are known to play around & pick on each other like every typical guys do..well the bartender didn't think that was cool. He prob. Is used to drunk crazy people i get that but, there was no physical arguement to escalate it to that level of rudeness I mean we're there providing you're paycheck. When we asked for drinks he stated, he wasn't going to serve us anymore. Never in my life have I had a situation of horrible customer service. I felt so unwelcomed after that. I touched the shuffle board as I walked in and a worker from inside said as I did that, I was f%#king up the board, I apologized and he then said well I'm not going to fix it. We then continued to attempt to play.i say attempt because I have never played in my 33 years of life and as we completed what we thought was a good game, the worker came up and condescendingly said how are we to know who was winning if we were playing incorrectly. I'm sorry, I'm drunk and writing this and this guy was a total douche. Will never come here again, just because of this. First impression was horrible! read more

They water down their drinks! When I complained, the supposed owner said he personally poured the drink as I was wrong. Gee I thought I was the customer! Ok so I am not their normal client! I am 55 and I have been drinking Tanqueray and tonics longer than they have been alive! Instead of good customer service they physically threw us out! Thats ok! Our kids and friends are now boycotting the place! Which to say since we were there on a Fri night and there were only handful of peeps there, not so good news! From the exterior this looks like a decent place. I've been in a couple of times with friends. I'd have to say that is the only real reason I'd step foot in. Being a "beer snob" I was glad to see some good craft beers on tap. Unfortunately they were not enjoyable. All of the IPA's tasted like yeast. In comparison to other bars that serve the same beers the beer here was horrible. Clean those lines once in awhile! The selection of hard liquor is skewed as well. 20+ vodkas yet very few Irish whiskeys. It's obvious that those who enjoy a good whiskey that is not bourbon should drink elsewhere. Service was horrible. The wait for drinks is long and the bartenders are either focused on what's going on right in front of them or talking with each other. If you're looking for a good bar that takes care of their patrons check out Pete's Place next door, cheaper drinks and really cool atmosphere! read more
