Very awkward service. Was greeted with, "How can I help you?" I said, "Uh, we want to eat," and kinda chuckled. Our server was nice but again, a little awkward. She was asking if I wanted anything to drink, and I told her I had only just started looking at the drink menu. So she goes, "Do you need a minute to decide?" Yes... That's what I was trying to say. She kept saying, "Excuse me," every time she approached our table to check on us or bring food/drinks. It was just very unusual. And the seating is very weird, as well. You can't lean back in the chairs - They're angled pretty far back. And what's with the egg-shaped swings? Very out of place. But on to the rest of the issues... I basically asked for light/easy cheese on my order, and it came out with way too much cheese. The salt shaker on the table was clogged/wouldn't dispense, so we had to pull out the stopper on the bottom to be able to use the salt. Around 8:00 or so, there was some DJ who started blasting music, making conversation difficult. And to top it off, my friend is pretty certain this place gave her food poisoning, since she was vomiting in the middle of the night. We definitely will not return. First time here and we had a wonderful experience. We ordered the Parrillada for two with fajita beef and chicken which was truly delicious and did not disappoint. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for our Mom's birthday and there were 9 of us. They immediately accommodated us by moving tables together. Several of us got flautas, some got the Reserve taco special, & a kids chicken tenders and fries. All of us were very happy with the taste and large of amount of food. The ambiance was good, natural light from large open windows and cool temps. The salsa was AMAZING!!! It's made fresh each day and full of flavor and a thick consistency. Prices are about what you'd expect to pay at this type of restaurant for this size of meal and quality. Our waiter was Brandon and he was so mellow and courteous and visited us just enough considering we were a big party. My wife and I visited this establishment when they had their soft grand opening. We figured there would be some kinks they need to work on, and we were right. No big deal, that's what happens when you first open. Over a month has gone by and we went back. And those kinks were never fixed. The food was good, however the service is horrible. We walked in to see 3 hostesses trying to figure out where to put the people in front of us. No one greeted us or told us it would be a minute. When we finally sat down at our table, we noticed other people were getting their drink orders in and they were seated after us! Ten minutes later, we finally got our drink order in. After we got our food, I had to hunt down an extra silverware set because we never got them, so I took them from another table. Then it was time for a refill of my water, and it took an additional 15 minutes to get a refill. I didn't quite understand why when the pitchers were a few feet way from me at the bar. I could have gotten up myself and refilled it faster. It seems management did not staff the restaurant very well. I was excited about a new restaurant but was disappointed with my first visit. The service was poor. My friend and I waited 15 minutes before we were able to flag down a manger to find a server. We started with the queso flameado which wasn't very good. The salsa they serve with their chips was really good and we should have stuck with that. My friend got the pozole and she said it was good. I had the chicken quesadilla and tit was so greasy that I only took 2 bites. Neither our server or a manger seemed to care that i barely ate any of my food. Tried The Reserve for the first time instead of going to our usual spot at Thirsty Lion. It has a very cute atmosphere when you walk in and seems like a nice place to have a casual meal. The menus were pulled up for us on tablets, which was nice because you could see a picture of every menu item. I ordered a fruity cocktail (strawberry, coconut & rum) and my boyfriend had an old fashioned. I ended up ordering an old fashioned because the cocktail was not it. The old fashioned was actually decent! The food looked fairly good in the pictures on the menu but we were highly disappointed when it actually came out. First off, the portion sizes were almost half what you would get at any typical restaurant and it was averaging $20 a plate!! Second, the quality of food was not there. I had a cheese/bell pepper stuffed chicken breast with rice and a "salad" (shredded lettuce with diced tomatoes & no dressing) and my boyfriend had chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The chicken was very dry but the bell peppers gave it decent flavor. The rice had corn, carrots, and peas in it and tasted like the rice you get at Panda Express. Definitely not like any Spanish/hispanic rice I've ever had. The refried beans were actually good but came in a tiny bowl like one you would get a side of ranch in. Most likely will not be a returning customer. The portion size, value, and quality were just not there and was not worth the money to us. If you ask for it, they bring a very small, tiny little ramekin of pico and the same size ramekin of meat to pour into your queso...which is Not a flameado. I would return here because we all still liked our food quite a bit, but prepare yourself for a long wait and begging for your meal order to be taken- or for that matter, to even get someone to come to your table.
