We had a reservation, which is recommended because the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night in May. We opted to sit on the patio because the weather was gorgeous. I am not sure if the patio is climate controlled in the summer or not. But on that night we were there, the weather was mild so it was very pleasant. They have happy hour on Saturdays so I started with an IPA on tap and the wife had a Prosecco, also for happy hour prices. This is a tapas restaurant so I will try to remember all that we had. Manchego cheese board: excellent. The crisps and jam were perfect with the cheese. Potato torilla: excellent. The flavors melded very well and it was very tasty. It's filling so keep that in mind. Ceviche de jalapeno: excellent. Not too spicy, the shrimp and seafood was fresh with no fishy smell. The plantains were cooked perfectly, not greasy. Brisket on crostini: excellent. Forget the name but they are a winner. Brisket is good quality and the flavors come together nicely. Chicken skewer: excellent. They smartly use chicken thighs so the meat is juicy and tender. Tuna tartare: good. It actually was my least favorite. The quality was very good but it did not have much flavor. I needed some heat, some acid, something to give it a kick. We were absolutely stuffed and did not try dessert. Our server Marcellus was excellent. Very helpful and pleasant throughout. He never disappeared for too long. Overall, we had a great meal and will undoubtedly return here again.

I will start with the good - the Wednesday happy hour for the wine carafe was great and we enjoyed the wine. Our server was kind and attentive and recommended a wine for our taste. That being said, the food was below average. I was warned about the food but I wanted to try for myself and yikes. The breaded cauliflower and shrimp tempura tasted worse than the dishes across the street at the movie theater. Really just all fried and oily and not tasty. We got the charcuterie for 3-4 people, and there were pieces of salami that only came with 2 pieces. There should be at least 4 pieces of each to share. The pecans and the pita that came with this were stale. What saved the day was the blackberry burrata salad (even though it barely should be considered a salad). The pizza was pleasant! We went on a rainy day, so we had to sit inside and the ambiance was not great. Not a wine bar feel. Luckily I was in great company and had a good time with wine! The only time I would ever come back is on a sunny day so I can sit on their nice patio and only to have their wine.

I loved it! I say…read more"I" as my wife wasn't as big a fan of the food as I was. We had reservations in a busy Saturday night and were seated at a comfortable 2-top. They were about full when we arrived. Not so much when we left. While I thought there was a game tonight - it's the Eagles in concert at one of the nearby stadiums. Because it was packed when we arrived, the space was fairly loud. Cheyenne was our server and she did great. She knew the menu well and made some suggestions. We had already read the Yelp reviews and sort of knew what we wanted. Two of us shared: - Margarita rocks - Pan con Tomate - Crispy Pork - Jerk Chicken Paella The Pan con Tomate was amazing. Really cool presentation too. The Crispy Pork was real nice. A bit dry due to making it crispy. Really meaty too. The Jerk Chicken Paella was great. Cheyenne told us the jerk seasoning wasn't very spicy. She was right. I would have liked it spicier though but understand the decision to appeal to a broader section of diners. The socarrat was amazing. They make the paella in a small (8"?) cast iron skillet. It made for a perfect caramelization of the rice (socarrat). The dish had jerk seasoned chicken thighs and vegetables. Yum! I would have loved to have the Coconut Cake. But we were full and it was $22. We'll come back to Cafe Americana and try other dishes and the cake!

My friend ordered the grilled cheese and it looked incredible! The quaint shopping area attached to the restaurant was so much fun! Very unique, one of a kind items. Darling lilttle gift bags with every purchase. The whole experience was just A++++++! I cannot wait to bring my sweet mother there next week. She will be beside herself with joy!

Super yummy! Mama had the grilled cheese with tomato soup and I had the BLT. The BLT came in pita bread and was moist and tasty. For dessert I had the fudge brownie and mama had the pear and apple crisp! They were so good we ate them before we could even get a picture. We arrived early and grabbed pre-dinner cocktails on the patio, which honestly set the tone for the evening. The fire pit tables + evening atmosphere were perfect. We kept it classic with Old Fashioneds and martinis, and both were very well executed. Simple, balanced, and clearly made by someone who knows what they're doing. There was also a blueberry graham cracker cocktail (can't remember the name, unfortunately) that was surprisingly delicious and easily could've been dessert in a glass. The tasting itself was an 8-course menu and absolutely incredible. Since this was a one-night pop-up, I won't go into detail on the food, but every course was thoughtful, creative, and genuinely delicious. One of those meals where you're excited for the next plate the second the last one's cleared. Service really stood out. The team was attentive without hovering, cleaned up seamlessly between courses, and made sure our drinks were never empty. They also offered solid wine pairings that complemented the menu really well and elevated the experience overall. One extra thing that really sealed it for me: after dinner, the second chef Taylor and the owner/manager Tanner came over and hung out with us for a bit. As someone who's a bit of a foodie nerd, I genuinely appreciate when chefs and operators take the time to talk food, concepts, and the thought behind the menu. It made the experience feel personal and intentional, not just transactional. If this pop-up is any indication of what Rye is capable of, it's definitely a place worth returning to. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and a team that clearly cares about the experience. Would absolutely come back.

Our dining party enjoyed the Chef's tasting menu, which was expertly presented and beautifully prepared. Our server, Trinity, explained each course and was readily available for follow up questions. She was friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of the preparations. Executive Chef Taylor Rause was frequently in the dining room, too, assisting in service and in explanations, sometimes tying the food back to personal experiences, which was delightful to hear and understand. The overarching theme of ancient grains permeated the entire tasting menu, creating a delicious and unifying thread. The small courses ranged from good to outstanding. Standouts for us were a pavé of celery root and green apple with a spelt crisp, a tiny masa tortilla stuffed with turkey chorizo, and a stunningly smoky wagyu spinalis with an unbelievable Bordelaise. A couple dishes missed those high marks a tad, such as a chicken leg with an einkorn biscuit that was light on flavor and a bit under-seasoned. All of us likewise felt the desserts lacked some of the same uniqueness of the previous plates. But these are small quibbles in an otherwise memorable experience that was capped by a brief visit to the kitchen, a good chance to wholeheartedly thank Chef Rause and Chef de Cuisine Jay Vopatek for a great night. High recommended.

When we walked in, the hostess had a poor attitude and was off putting. Unfriendly and borderline rude. We made sure to get there as soon as they opened because we knew it would be dead, and we'd have better luck at quicker service. Unfortunately, they sat us outside because we had our ESA animal in an enclosed carrier after grilling us about what services he performs, and I believe we were forgotten about since we were the only ones on the porch. It was a very warm day with high humidity. I asked the hostess if she could make sure the fans were on since it was so hot, and she asked, "So, you want me to turn them off?" We only ordered two apps of Roti Canai, one order of the twice friend wings, and an order or the donuts (all were ordered at once to help speed things along since it was so hot outside.) It took quite a while, and the wings came out soggy and cold, which is not the norm. A thunderstorm was coming in, and we had been waiting on our donuts for at least 20 minutes at this point. My husband informed the hostess that we would have to either cancel the order or move inside since it was about to start raining. She flippantly said that she would have to ask the manager first if we were allowed inside. We were so turned off that it really ruined the experience, and it was not the way we wanted to celebrate Mother's Day. The donuts finally came out (also cold), and I had my husband just give her the credit card without the check so we could hurry up and get off the porch before it started coming down. We rushed through the dessert and left. Not loving our experience and not sure if we'll be back until the attitude and service changes. We're bummed because we were always a fan of this place until now.
