    Great new location in North Richland Hills TX. Blue Goose always delivers a fabulous experience. Lively location with attentive Staff. Awesome food ! Blue Goose took over an existing location. My only regret? I really wish they would DOUBLE the BAR capacity. We love dining at the BAR and with only 6 BAR stools we sometimes wait over an hour to get a space at the BAR!

    I've seen Blue Goose Cantina in the making, and once it was open, I was curious to try this place out. I know they have other locations, but it was my first time here. I came on a Wednesday evening after the ice storm had cleared up, and the wait was 40 minutes. Tip: add your party via the Yelp app and monitor it. The restaurant was crowded around 6:00, and I was #30 on the list. Inside the restaurant, the main thing that caught my eye was the tortilla-making area in the middle, which is neat to watch but does take up space. The patio, which is covered with tarp and warm, is where we were seated. Andrew was our server, and he was great! We ordered chips and queso as recommended. I was able to get a spicy salsa as well, but the key here was to mix the spicy salsa with the normal salsa for the perfect spice level. I'm a white queso girl, but their queso was great! I ordered the spicy flaca margarita, which was on the $5.00 special, and a peach margarita was ordered. It took a while for our drinks to arrive (we were almost done with the chips and queso before they arrived), and Andrew kept checking on them and apologizing, and we completely understand how busy it was and that it's out of his hands. Both margaritas were enjoyed. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with tomatillo salsa as my main. The cheese was the yellow cheese, and it wasn't as gooey and stringy as it should be. The salsa was okay; there could have been more of it. The rice and black beans were good. Enjoying enchiladas at a Tex-Mex restaurant, I do enjoy a variety of sauces, such as a ranchero sauce and mole sauce, which they did not have. Chips and salsa were refilled, and service was good. Our table was a bit wobbly. Great new addition to the area and perfect for happy hour or grabbing a drink and bite with friends.

    We were excited when we saw that Blue Goose Cantina opened up within a few miles of our home. We braved the second night. It was open, which happened to be the night before a big ice and snowstorm. So as you can imagine the wait times were very long. Thankfully, they use call ahead seating which was almost an hour, but gave us time to show up within a few minutes of our table, being ready. On this night, I think it was busier normal so it was very loud and hard to hear, plus people were standing waiting for tables right next to people sitting, which dampened the experience. Our server was Elayna and we cannot say enough good things about this young lady. In fact, we will come back and request her every time we come back. She was nice, sweet and a great server! We started with the top shelf queso, which was amazing. Then moved onto two margaritas which we absolutely loved as well. The one thing that could be improved with that experience was our dinner came out within 5 minutes of getting our queso which we would've preferred having a little bit more time with our queso before getting our entrées. I ordered the tacos fresco's, which is three grilled tilapia tacos. Those tacos were absolutely amazing. The black beans were hot and amazing as well. The rice unfortunately was a little bit bland and was just barely lukewarm and not enjoyable. My wife had the Dirty Bob with steak inside a burrito and absolutely loved it. Overall, an amazing experience and we will definitely be back. A couple little snafu's is the reason it didn't get five stars.

    So bad, but please let me start with the one positive. THE CHIP GUY WAS ON FIRE! He kept refilling. Thank you sir. Was quoted 10 - 25 minute wait time, hmmmmmm that's a big gap, but it was 30. Right away we ordered 2 frozen margaritas. More than 30 minutes later they arrived after asking several times. Our poor inexperienced and overwhelmed waitress was trying to keep her head above water with zero support. Please see attached photo. We had a Birds Eye view during our wait and also at the table. Behind the hostess stand the entire time was 5 - 6 staff members just standing there. At one time, one of the guys was playing with his necklace while the other buddy was holding up the wall staring in to space. The other girls were in a frenzy trying (and failing) at checking people in. Meanwhile we wait 30 minutes for our frozen margarita - because the bar is backed up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but ordering a frozen margarita requires pulling a lever? Once we received the long awaited for margarita - since the bar was "backed up" - I ordered another one at that moment. I was finished with my food (30 minutes later) after asking several times - the 2nd margarita came. I asked for it to-go. The manager (girl in the blue shirt with the iPad) said, we don't do to-go margaritas once they are on the table. I told her we had waited 30 minutes for it - she made a "one time exception". Here's an idea. Take the guy holding up the wall to help the bar out and pull that lever on the margarita machine. (Which would make more money for the restaurant) Take the other guy who was playing with his necklace to refill water. I get it the restaurant is new, but from a management standpoint - wouldn't you want to hire a few EXPERIENCED waitstaff? Just a thought. My advice. Give this restaurant at least 6 months to get adjusted. Gosh, with this service it's very doubtful they will survive. Meanwhile, we will stick with our Friday night favorite BAJA! It's close, they seat us, they food is spectacular and our margaritas arrive in ............ wait for it - minutes! What a concept.

    When Enchiladas Ole closed, I'll be honest... I mourned. That place mattered. So when the "Coming Soon: Blue Goose Cantina" signs went up, sadness turned into straight-up joy. And let me tell you, the wait was worth it. I've been a Blue Goose fan since my teenage years, back when the original Lower Greenville location was the place. This is classic, old-school Dallas Tex-Mex. This food tastes like my life. If you know, you know. The new NRH location is fantastic. Total remodel. Big, beautiful space. Huge outdoor patio and bar. Fun, festive vibe that feels like celebration Tex-Mex should feel. Service? Excellent. Our server Ariel was wonderful. Friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. The kind of service that makes you want to stay awhile. We kicked things off with a $5 Happy Hour margarita, which was dangerously good. Smooth, refreshing, and exactly what a Blue Goose marg should be. The chips and salsa deserve their own applause. Thin, crispy, salty perfection. You will not stop eating them. Don't even try. Food-wise, we went classic Tex-Mex combo plates. I had the OG crispy beef taco and beef enchilada. Traditional. Comforting. Delicious. Zero notes. My wife had the Blue Goose tamale and a salad. She loved both... though I still question ordering a salad at Blue Goose. Bold move. And yes, we splurged on the mini sopapillas. Absolutely worth it. Warm, sweet, and the perfect finish. I will 100 percent be a regular. Possibly too regular. The Blue Goose Cantina is a dream come true, and NRH is lucky to have it. Welcome to the neighborhood, Blue Goose. You're home.

The serving size was generous, the crunch on the rice was there, and then it fell short. The texture of the rice was on the mushier side. The tuna was NOT spicy. It had been dressed in something, but it brought absolutely NO flavor or anything to the tuna. There was a wasabi cream and a sauce (maybe eel sauce) that dressed the plate, but the tuna was bland. A little soy, citrus, yuzu, sriracha or SOMETHING to elevate and brighten the tuna would have been EVERYTHING. So it just ended up being bland tuna, on undressed avocado, on fried mushy rice with some tasty sauces. It absolutely was not spicy. And with a little something something it could have been rather tasty. Even with mushy rice. When I walked in and sat down, there was no music playing so you were just hearing conversations bouncing off the walls. After about a half hour someone decided they needed some tunes, but then it was too loud and it was hard to hear the bar tenders. I loved the decor, and again, my cocktail was really rather good. The overall feel just felt kind of sloppy. It could have been awesome, and fell short. They claim to have Southlakes best burger, and maybe that is a better choice than the tuna. I may give it a shot. It got rather popular as I was leaving, the crowd a bit more mature. And maybe that is their bag. They have great reviews and high stars, I just didn't feel it.
