I've been to many shops in my 50 yrs on motorcycles. Hands down, The Ride Factory is seriously the most down to earth shop I've been to. There was no question too dumb to ask and they were happy to teach and show whatever your question is. They really do make you feel at ease and part of the family. Summer, Brian and the rest of the crew were honest, hardworking, professional and very knowledgeable. I never felt pressure or experienced hard up-sells. In fact they tried hard and succeeded in saving me money whereas other shops well, I never felt that way. It's very refreshing that they keep their promises and went the extra mile to get me back on the road in a very short amount of time with a lot of work to be done!. Brian even gave me a part off of his bike to meet the last minute deadline on something I never even asked to be fixed with no extra charge or second thought! These people Rock! I'm done with the Harley dealership, these guys have won my business I won't be going anywhere else. Thanks again, to Summer, Brian, Mikey, Shelby and Willie

I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I brought my e-bike in to have a tube replaced and…read moresupplied the replacement tube myself, which I had already purchased on Amazon. The bike was in the shop for less than an hour, yet I was charged $80 just for the labor. That price feels excessive for such a straightforward repair. I believe local businesses should charge fair, transparent rates, and this experience left me feeling taken advantage of. I prefer supporting local shops, but it's hard to justify coming back after this. The owner should take a closer look at their pricing because this kind of experience drives loyal customers away.

Everything I want a bike shop to be. First, open on Sundays, which is so convenient. Second, able…read moreto hear about what had gone wrong, and then able to diagnose correctly what was needed. Third - able to fix it right then! I also loved that they had a lot of bicycle merchandise, including riding clothing and hats. After having a rear flat tire on my bicycle, and having a local shop unable to fix the problem, I brought my bike here. The worker put it up on rack, showed me how the new tape I just paid for at the other shop was put on incorrectly, AND showed me that my tire had see through patches on it, and clearly needed to be replaced. My tape, tire and tube were replaced, the cost was reasonable, and I was in and out of the shop in under half an hour. This is my new bike repair shop.

Early in June I purchased three bikes and accessories from UBC at almost $3500. One of the bikes…read morehad a flat rear tire every time my wife would go to ride it. I'd fill it up and usually by the next morning the rim was on the ground again. The bike may have had 2-3 miles on it so i took it to UBC 30 minutes away and asked them to have a look. They checked it and told me there were no leaks and then went on to explain to me how bikes lose air pressure. I have been working on bikes as an owner & rider for 45 years, I know the dynamics of air in a bike tire. I told them they didn't look hard enough and after some back and forth with Alec they took it back and replaced the tube. When the old guy from service came out he was ranting about having to replace a good tube for no reason, Alec gave me the bike and I left. Before I even got the bike home and off the carrier it was flat again. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and inflated it again but by morning it was flat. I know it was a new tube because the valve stem was threaded where the original was rubber. Rather than go back and suffer through another argument and down talking like I was a yuppie idiot who doesn't know which end of a screw driver to use, I ordered a new tube. Today I pulled the tube they put in, verified the leak, then actually took 20 seconds to inspect the inside of the rim to find out why it keeps punching holes in tubes and found a huge burr in the rim that penetrated the protective liner and was cutting the tubes. Had UBC taken 20 seconds of their own to look into the problem rather than being convinced the customer didn't know what they were talking about they would have found the problem and been able to fix it correctly. I don't care how long they have been in business but sometimes they should listen to what their customer is saying to them, there are a lot of idiots out there, I'm not one of them. I wanted to find and work with an independent bike dealer but there aren't as many any more. Unfortunately this isn't the one. I'm happy with our bikes but I'll find somewhere else for future needs.

He attempted to change my mind / upgrade to a 105. This was highly irritating b/c at the shop I was unequivocal with Jonathan that i did NOT want the 105. Now my SL8 is in limbo. Alex seems to be the most helpful on the staff. I have called proactively to get updates and being ignored. I really want to support local biz here in Tampa/St. Pete but feel deflated and full of regret. I really don't want to post a 1 star review, but reading the others, clearly I'm not alone. They underestimated me as someone who works in PR and has access to all the cycling publications in the U.S., and local press including Tampa Bay Times, St. Pete Catalyst, and more. I will also get it inspected upon arrival by a trusted local shop near me in St Pete. Spoke to Carlos on the phone today and he didn't have the tracking number. Had to go "chase it down" from the Specialized sales rep. I now know what is likely going on: They are purposely delaying shipments and using customer deposits on expensive bikes as interest free loans to boost short-term liquidity. This is not only deceptive biz practices, but a directly violation of the FTC's rules and regulations. I'm prepared to file a report if I do get answers in the next hour.

The reasons for my visit were a noticeable "thunk" noise from the motor, a spongy feeling in the front brake, and routine service. After inspecting the bike, the technician contacted me and told me the rear brake system had suffered a "catastrophic failure" and that the entire brake system needed to be replaced. I was told this would include new brake levers, hydraulic lines, calipers, and rotors, and that if they serviced the front brake it would likely have the same outcome. I was also told the motor thunk was considered "normal," despite the fact that I own another Trek FX+ 1S that does not make this noise. I was informed that the bike was not safe to ride because of the condition of the brakes. This was surprising because the bike had fewer than 90 miles on it, and the rear brake had been functioning normally when I brought it in. Before authorizing hundreds of dollars' worth of parts, I decided to take the bike home. I purchased a hydraulic brake bleed kit from Amazon and performed a brake bleed myself. The entire process took about five minutes, and the brakes immediately felt normal again. No replacement of levers, calipers, lines, or rotors was necessary. What concerns me most is that when I asked where the alleged catastrophic failure actually was, the technician couldn't identify the specific failed component or explain what had failed. Recommending replacement of an entire hydraulic braking system without being able to identify the failure point did not inspire confidence. Additionally, the technician did not reply back to my text messages when I followed up with questions. I'm disappointed because I expected accurate diagnostics from a Trek dealer, especially on a nearly new bike. Instead, I left feeling that expensive parts replacement was being recommended without sufficient evidence, while my original concern about the motor noise was dismissed as "normal." Based on this experience, I have lost confidence in the service department at this location and will be seeking service elsewhere in the future.
