If it's nice outside I highly recommend eating outside for a nice relaxing view of the mountains while eating dinner. I ordered the braised short rib, which was cooked and prepared very fast! Can't complain about that. It was perfect. My wife ordered the crabcake sliders, tad bit on the bland side with some added heat from some spicy peppers but it was ok. We really wanted this place to be awesome--the view is pretty amazing while the sun is out, or while the sun is setting, but the view is lost once it's dark--it's just of lit up parking lots. However, the vibe in the restaurant is fun, eclectic, and the fire in the back is a nice touch. We started off with a cheese and charcuterie board, which was really good and a mixture of nice pickled veggies, cheeses, and meats. It went downhill for us with the larger plates. The short rib was over cooked and more than half of my portion was inedible fat. The Brussels were overly oily. However the crab cakes and the fried oysters were pretty good. Would probably try this place again but would order much differently. The service was very good and our server was very attentive and friendly. Cute rooftop spot on the top of a hotel with its own separate entrance and plenty of parking. The food and drinks were delicious, and so was the ambiance! I would definitely recommend it for a date night. It was not crowded. However, I felt it was the right amount of service. The service was okay at best - we ran into some friends when we first walked in and the hostess was VERY obviously annoyed when we didn't follow her immediately - and our waitress made odd comments. We had friends join us for dinner and we both had the fish tacos and crab cake sliders. Both were very good. The crab cake sliders had some type of hot pepper in the mix and when you bit into it, it destroyed the crab taste in the cake. I'm still giving them a five because their service, we had Sawyer, was tremendous. She was knowledgeable, helpful and eager to keep us happy! We went in at 5:00 on a Monday and expected it to be empty. It was bustling. It was gorgeous. It was fabulous. The three small plates we had, baked brie, a crab cake, and fish tacos, were delicious. My cocktail, a VA brown sugar Old Fashioned, was excellent. The service was impeccable. My only regret is that it is 300 miles from home. My husband and I ate here last night and cannot wait to return to the area so we can go again. We started off at the bar for a drink since we arrived early for our reservation (which I highly recommend for a Saturday night). Doug, the bartender made two delicious old fashioned, on blueberry and one regular. Doug was friendly and very attentive. We were able to sit outside and view the beautiful rolling hills in the distance. We ordered the chicken curry cups and the tuna tartar- both come with yummy slices of French bread.
