Honestly I cannot understand why this company is rated as high as it is with the poor service it has provided. You can read the review below to understand what we started with, and now the fun continues again! Last year we had called a technician out and informed, oh yeah..the unit we put in did not include the information of this unit is not compatible with the current ducting and we need to cut another hole in your house to make it work. After a couple thousand more dollars, we actually have a working unit...or so we thought. Made it just over a year before the unit kept shutting down. Turns out there was a clog. Ok, older drainage, understandable, and shelled out another 375+ to have a new line put in, and was told should fix the issue. Noticed the other day the unit was shut off again, so back to the attic I went. Had a bunch of water everywhere. Found one leak that thankfully left water still on attic side of ceiling. the two gentlemen that came out took a look and said that I actually had 2 leaks one from drain pan and another from failed seal and also another clog. After they looked at everything, we were told a few things that we didn't like, and which would definitely be another bunch out of our pocket to fix, and this is where we are at. One technician stated that the pan below was not properly installed, the unit was bowing in the center which it should not be, and the condenser coils outside were pretty dirty. The condenser outside I clean pretty regularly but with all the stuff going around in the air it can be a bit hard to keep up with. The unit itself is another story. I have been offered 3 options. No matter which option we have chosen, the money that we have put out already has been enough to pay for a complete, new unit. They said that for us to get a complete new unit is 6,000 plus. SERIOUSLY??? TALK ABOUT CHEATING YOUR CUSTOMER! OUR ORIGINAL UNIT FROM 1993 WORKED BETTER AND WAS INSTALLED PROPERLY. I HAVE HAD MORE ISSUES SINCE OWNING YOUR EQUIPMENT THAN EQUIPMENT IN 2 OTHER HOUSES THAT I HAVE RESIDED. SAD, JUST SAD THAT THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH. I WILL NOT BE CHANGING THIS REVIEW. (Yes..they ask you to do that depending on what the review is). Cannot rate a zero so I have to at least use a one star. I have been with this company for a couple of years now and it has to be one of the worst I have ever delt with. Let's just say the old unit I had in the house since 1993 worked better. I had to change it due to the system was old and it finally kicked the boot. The first time for install it went decently and actually cooled my house the way it was meant to be. After the first couple of days, I had to call the technician back as the system stopped and was told I needed some adjustments. In a period of less than a year I had already had the technician out 6 times. One even didn't like the fact I told him what I knew the issue was and he fixed something else. (I'm a mechanic and it's not hard to identify with specific sounds.) After a year I had them back out again and another component needed to be fixed. Unfortunately, it cost me an extra 400 in my electric bill. Not even a few months later have had them back out again. Thankfully I didn't have to pay the multiple technician visits. So now I back to the expenses that I have taken on due to the stupid mistake of going with this company. I am not well off and cannot just have another company come in and replace this unit. Since starting with this company I pay an average of 200.00-250.00 more in my electric bill. It is unfortunate I have to call them back out again. I wonder about some of the mechanics. They do a rush job and believe their qualifications are just pencil whipped. Stay away from this company!!!! read more

This company has nice customer service agents, but their HVAC technicians and ability to correctly complete HVAC work is questionable. 4 different technicians from this company have been to my home to diagnose and fix my mini split. Each technician gave a different diagnosis and false remediation. Each technician advised me that my mini split was fixed after their visit, but it's still not working. When I called this company to tell them about how they actually didn't fix anything, they advised me that none of the technicians that worked on my AC unit are employed with them anymore and the Supervisor Steve is scheduled to help me on October 13th at 2pm. Steve hadn't contacted me as of 3pm on October the 13th, so I called the company to no avail. Steve still hasn't called or shown up for our appointment. I called the company again today and was told that Steve the Supervisor was going to call me and handle my HVAC issues and that he had been waiting on the warranty company to get back with him before he could come out to my house and do work. Then why set an appointment? Why not communicate the appointment delay? I first called these guys in early September and now it's October the 31st and they haven't fixed anything. Their technicians don't know what they are doing and it's a pain to work with such incompetence that literally has no limits. However, the people who answer the phones at their office are very nice. read more

Horrible experience and in the end they did not fix my AC. I asked them to unclog my condensation drain and they did unauthorized work. Then, the compressor no longer worked and I had to replace that. They said it was not under warranty, but it was actually under warranty. They had and gave me the wrong serial number with Carrier. I spent over two hours trying to figure out why it was not covered, and in the end, I had to leave work and check the serial number myself. Then they did not return my calls when I tried to let them know they had the wrong serial number on the invoice. Some guy named "Jimmy" was very unprofessional.....horrible experience. read more

Do not do business with this company. I leased to own a system from them, submitted my financing paperwork, paid my first payment and they were a no show to install. They moved my appt to the next day without consulting me which I could not do because of my work schedule. So now I am leasing an HVAC system for an entire week that I don't get the benefit of because I can't be home for them to actually do what they were supposed to do on my appointment date. We hired The Right Choice to replace an old HVAC unit and to install a tankless water heater. They also expanded the entrance to the attic and installed a drop-down ladder to allow the technicians to access that space for installation. We did ask if permits were required for any of this work; they said no. From the beginning, there were issues. We were told that the hole to the attic could be no larger than 14" in any direction without compromising the structural integrity of our roof and ceiling, which greatly limited the type of unit that could be installed. On the day of the attic door expansion, the contractor sawed through multiple beams installing a door that was more like 24" x 36", a far cry from the 14" door we had discussed. We did have some sagging in that part of the ceiling, which was, fortunately, corrected by a carpenter several months later. With the door in place, the water heater and HVAC installation began. This process took a LONG time - it was at least two months before all of the units were operable and RC has not actually finished the installation of the HVAC unit (2 years later!), although I have contacted them multiple times to complete the project. Both units work well, but the installation was not up to code. When we had further work done in that part of the house, the city's code enforcement required changes and additions resulting in $3,000 of plumbing bills just to fix what was done improperly by RC. This was an unexpected expense, to say the least, and a startling discovery for us given the nature of the infractions. Overall, we had such a painful experience and though we have tried many times to work with this company, we have been so disappointed. read more

Had The Right Choice out for my HVAC not working. They told me the fan/blower switch in the attic had been turned off (surprise, nobody I know has done this) They showed me that the unit was blowing through my vents, charged a service fee and left. I then checked the attic and found the switch still turned off (what?). When I turned it on and my A/C works normally but the (very old) furnace did not. Upon further checking of the unit I discovered a sensor tripping that was preventing the furnace from lighting. End result: poor diagnosis on service call, did not fix problem Right Choice, you missed an opportunity to put in a new furnace, and I will not be calling again. read more

Right Choice replaced our HVAC system several years back. We had to call them back out because they never installed the converter kit from natural gas to propane. Our 300 gallon propane tank got depleted in nearly 2 1/2 weeks, when normally it takes months. After going round and round and round with them about trying to get them to fix this issue and reimburse us for the cost to refill the propane tank, they only paid half. They also came back out and replaced the orifices but not the LP springs. Just recently had a tech out, he said he has to shut down the furnace as he does not feel safe to keep it running and he is afraid it could cause an explosion. We have called Right Choice repeatedly to speak with a manager and continuously keep getting avoided. We are currently having cold weather and our house is at 55 degrees. Right Choice seems to have been the Wrong Choice. Converting a natural gas furnace to propane seems like it would be one of the most basic tasks in installing a new furnace. I purchased an ac unit from The Right Choice Air and Heating Inc. on May 10,2022. It came with a manufacturer's warranty and a 10 year warranty. After 1 year and 3 months, the ac unit broke down. It was during the hottest season in Texas. I called The Right Choice, they sent a tech, Ryan Okashi, who diagnosed that the "control board" was broken and that he already ordered the part. He stated that he will not charge a diagnosis fee because he was not able to fix the unit. After waiting 2 days, no call back from the company. I had to call the company again who sent another tech, Terry Heath, who made the same diagnosis as Ryan. He told me that the parts was back ordered, and it will not be available until Dec 3, 2022. I thought he was joking. In the meantime He started working on the ac unit "by-passing" the control board. He set the temp at 71 degrees but it started registering at 78. He did not fix anything. It was just fan blowing air, I had to pay $89.00 for the diagnosis that was already done by the first tech. I called them again, and the same tech did the same thing, which did not last very long. I called the company and they said that they still did not have the part. I explained to "Natalie" that my wife and I are having a very hard time working without sleep. We are both nurses in critical care areas. I told her to either repair the ac or replace the entire unit. The lady that answered, "Natalie" said that she will see if they could expedite the part ordered. After 2 days with on response, I called and left them a message. I am still waiting for a call-back. It has been almost a month with no resolution. Their Invoice stated that the a/c unit has a 10-15 years life expectancy. Multiple calls resulted in no resolution and we are still in a very warm house. I am paying thousands of dollars for a defective, supposedly brand new ac unit that has a ten year warranty from a company that does not want to assist and honor their contract agreement. It has been almost a month. This has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. My wife and I are very angry. Had we known this would happen, we would NOT have hired these people. read more

I had this company come out to check units that were all working fine. Was told 2 older units had low Freon and units needed replacing as R 22 is outlawed. 2 days later one of units is not working. Several local vendors have r 22 as it's not outlawed until 2020. This company took our money and could have resolved the issue but was dishonest. Very suspicious unit now not working. read more

Do not use this company, I purchased a contract with them last year to come and check my heater in the fall and AC in the spring. The fall check up was fine, but the spring check up was not. The first time I scheduled it, I waited all morning and they did not come, I finally got in touch with the office and they told me the technician had called in sick, but they didn't call me to let me know. Today they sent me a text saying the technician was on his way, 2 hours later, he is still not here. Again I called the office, they said he had a flat tire, but would be here when it was repaired, still no call from the company letting me know why there was a delay. I came home from work and noticed a large water stain on my ceiling. I decided to call The Right Choice to come and look at our problem. The tech arrived at my house and noticed that my condensation pipe was broken. I probably steped on it putting my Christmas boxes up in the attic. Their technician came out and of course found that it would help if they clean the condenser coils outside and clean out the drain line going outside of the house. I told them I could do both of those and usually do and the technician said that he could do it professionaly and that's how he makes his money. He also suggested insulation in the Attic that they could do for a couple of thousand dollars and I once again said no thank you. He then told my wife that he was just trying to feed his family and pay his house payment . He then told my wife that we were taking his money away from him because he did all that work and we don't want to pay anything. I thought that's what a $55 tune-up special was. A money loser for them. I I don't think I will have them out again because I don't want to listen to the hard sale and sob stories. read more

Our builder used Right Choice on our house and after finding out the wrong system was installed, our builder had Right Choice come out to inspect the install. They told us there was nothing wrong and left. We had many calls and emails with our builder and I went into another home with the same exact floor plan as ours, to take pictures to show the difference. The owner/GM (whatever he was) came to our home, with our builder, and stood in my front entry and said again, nothing was wrong. The upstairs of the house had such a drastic temp. difference. that the man was sweating after walking up the stairs. He saw our Ecobee on the wall and told us we should get sensors to help regulate the air into the rooms so they stayed cool. Um, how is that supposed to happen when you have NO zone control in a 2 story home with one a/c unit? Very long story short, we requested another company to fix the error and they had to replace nearly the entire system... including rewiring vents that were wired incorrectly. Had another AC company come out and asked them to check everything out. Everything is perfectly fine! Of course it is, we just remodeled the whole house a year ago and everything was checked then.
