I'm giving this rink 5 stars because it offers more ice time than any of the Anaheim Ducks owned rinks. We are lucky to have KHS in Orange County. I agree with other reviewers that sticktimes are sometimes crowded with coaching sessions. Although, check out a stick-time anywhere else and you will realize KHS sticktimes are more worth the time and money. The quality of the ice is good. read more

Took my Jr. High group to KHS to play broomball! It was a blast and they loved it! However, we almost didn't have enough blue 'brooms' to play with because some of them were broken. They just need to get some new ones. But other than that, it was VERY fun! read more

I have been here for stick time about 7 or 8 times with 2 of my hockey buddies. The first couple of times were great! Plenty of room to practice and I was lucky on one occasion and had all of Rink B to myself. I'm not sure what has happened recently but I haven't been too pleased the past 2 times and I won't be going back unless things improve. The last 2 times there were no pucks! There were a total of 8 skaters on ice and there were about 4 pucks. I asked one of the workers if they had any pucks to bring out and she replied that all the coaches take the pucks and she didn't have any to give out. I would've went to my car and grabbed a few pucks but I shouldn't have to do that as pucks are always provided unless its called stick and puck time! I had to ask one of the coaches if i could use a couple of pucks for me and my 2 friends. I told him I'll be glad to return at the end of Stick time. He did let me use 2 pucks of his 50 pucks that he had for the 2 kids he was training but was extremely rude about it and said they are 2 bucks a piece and coaches bring their own personal pucks. After all those shenanigans I resumed stick time with my friends even though I should've asked for my money back and left. 8 skaters and 6 pucks doesn't quite work. The time before that it was similar as there were 9 skaters and maybe 7 pucks. There has also been more than 1 occasion were I went to stick time and the ice was not resurfaced. The only positive thing I can say at this point about this place is they do have more stick times available then any other rink in OC. I check everyday as I play about 3 times a week. I think the owners are Russian and Russians are awesome! I gave 2 stars for that. At this point I'd rather drive a little further to Lakewood Ice as they dump a full milk crate of pucks out at the start of every stick time and those are separate from the coaches pucks. The arena could use an upgrade and the locker rooms could be maintained a little better. I know locker rooms stink but I've been to more than one hockey arena and upkeep is a little better at others in all aspects. If you guys decide to upgrade some equipment please let me know as I work in the equipment leasing and business capital industry and would love to do a deal with a Hockey Arena. Please get some more pucks and try to take care of the ice more often - Rink B in particular and I will be back. read more

The only reason I came here was because of a Yelp deal and my friends wanted to come here! After going to Anaheim ICE and coming here, I notice that this rink is not comparable to Anaheim ICE. Upon arriving at the rink, the woman who was standing at the booth and accepting payments for the public session had a very unhappy look on her face and she seemed like she did not want to be there. When I gave her my Yelp Deal paper, she continued to mumble something and then walked to the back. I did not know where she went, but I just followed her from the outside of the booth and apparently she went to the ice skates rental area and asked for my boyfriend and my shoe size. I told her size 7 and she gave me size 7 ice skates but when my boyfriend told her his size, she said they were out of clean size 9 ice skates and then pointed at the pile of used/dirty ice skates piled on the counter and the floor and told him to pick one of those. I was extremely disturbed... My poor boyfriend!! But he accepted it and we continued on to the rink. If you are like me and a noob at skating, this is not a very good place for you because the edges where you can grasp on the sides of the rink is basically nonexistent. There were so many close calls where I almost fell... I am never coming here again!! read more

We booked a broomball party here in Aug of 2021. The booking process was straight forward and the staff assisting was helpful and answered my many questions about helmet requirements, waivers, and the party room. The broomball play time was very fun! The staff was hands off during the entire event. We had 26 people and there were enough sticks, but not too many extra. The only issue we had was with the party room. We had 32 guests and we let them know ahead of time, but the room was not big enough. There were seats for 24, but the tables were very close together and no extra tables for food. There was also a lot of stuff in the room (skate sharpening machine, foosball table, huge display case) so it made for an awkward party. Some people had to stand in the hallway because it was so squishy. Plan accordingly! read more

The entrance was a little difficult to navigate to the first time since you kind of have to go around. I usually come here for stick time. $15 a person. They have so many different times that it isn't super packed. You'll have the rink to yourself and a few other people. There was a coach using the other side of the rink but it wasn't that noticeable. Last time we went on Wednesday @ 4ish? had about 6-7 players and a goalie, enough to get a fun little scrimmage going. read more

My family has a great experience ice skating...we purchased a Groupon and we had no problems with redeeming it. We used the Groupon during an open skate session for 1 hr. + 20 minutes...more than enough time to get sore feet. Came to khs for there in house hockey league on Saturday and Wednesday night clinics that they have going. The coach Stefan is great with the kids, great skill development going on here, as well they take the time and patience with all the kids. Highly recommend KHS . Facilities are good, ice is fantastic compared to others in Anaheim. This is a hidden gem read more

KHS is a great place to play broomball. My friends will schedule 90 minutes or 2 hours on a friday night roughly every . It ends up being around $20 a person for 25 people or so. The arena supplies the brooms and sometimes the balls. You can park on either side of the arena as there are two different entrances to the two different ice rinks. They have an atm and snackbar onsite. They also have a skate shop with figure and ice hockey skates. The main rink has bleachers and nets all around it to protect the fans during hockey games. Its a nice place to play. read more

I love this place. It's definitely changed since it was Glacial Gardens, where I learned to skate and took hockey training when I was in 4th grade (1995ish) and the pro shop isn't as big as it used to be and its never open when I'm there (I think the sign says it opens at 2) but I'm always there 11-1, so that's nothing to complain about, but the staff (especially Linda) have always been nice and easy to get along with and I enjoy the pickup hockey they have. My dad and I play goalie on Mondays for the 50+ pickup hockey, and its always something I look forward to every week. This past Monday, I noticed they had at repainted the left rink within the past 2 weeks and it looked GREAT!!! I'm really looking forward to starting goalie training here, because I've never had a bad experience at KHS and, like many other's have stated, it's not nearly as crowded as Anaheim ICE (who decide to have training sessions at the same time as public skate sessions, on the same rink... not always the best experience). Always have been and always will be a fan of KHS. The only suggestion I would have is to have some public sessions later in the evenings. read more

2.7. Just ok. Like all the other reviews have said, NO FRILLS. Like at all. Nobody came to start our session, it started about 15 minutes after it was supposed to. I think I might just be getting old though, because me and my boyfriend were stupid tired after about 45 minutes of our session. The skates are all in decent condition. No food except for the machines when games aren't in session. The price is pretty good though. The open sessions aren't very busy (so probably good for you families out there). read more

Pros, Cons, then summary. I can only review this based on perspective of a spectator, as I came here to watch my son play hockey. PROs--Well, it's an ice rink, and at the end of the day, that's all that really matters. The snack bar was ok for the place. CONs--Place is dark, which makes it tough to take film/pictures. There was not any access to behind either net, which is my favorite angle to view a hockey game. The place is old and a tad dirty too. There wasn't enough parking either. The woman working at the time was too busy and on her phone to show any emotion, and wasn't pleasant at all. Would I go back? No, unless I have to due to a game being scheduled there. Went here for my nephew's hockey game. Cons: All of the vending machines were broken. There is minimal seating on opposite sides of the rink, so if there are a lot of onlookers be prepared to stand. Pros: plenty of parking, there is a snack bar and overall nice atmosphere. read more

I booked this venue for broomball and it went very well! When calling them for the booking, they were very responsive, so we were able to book the place during our first call with them. The venue was nice; we started a bit late but they rink made sure we got the amount of time that we paid for, so theg allowed us to leave late. read more

Love this Ice Arena. They have many public skate sessions and they are always pretty empty so you have plenty of room to skate.

Don't even think about booking a birthday party or event here. I booked way in advance and confirmed with Stefan a couple days before my event. He assured me all was good. I arrived 30 minutes before my event as instructed and nothing was set up. I was doing a broom ball birthday party and they told me they would leave the ice chopped up after open skate time so it wasn't so slippery for broom ball. Low and behold they groomed the ice. We waited for 15 minutes past our event start time for them to bring the broom sticks out. The owner was a complete jerk and couldn't care less that I had 20 kids standing around waiting for the sticks. Absolutely no apologies or customer service from the owner whatsoever. If you want to take a chance that your party may happen then roll the dice. I'll never go back. read more

REALLY bad. My best friend and I love ice skating normally and we went here to have a nice hour or so to take advantage of their $5 Sunday deal. We thought, what could go wrong? There were like 2 workers and they weren't nice and they were hardly working. They gave us HORRIBLE ice skating shoes. The first pair I tried on had NO ankle support at all whatsoever so I couldn't skate one bit. The second pair was so hard that it strangled my ankles and put my in so much pain that it practically left my ankle bruised. The ice had blood on it. Yes, actual blood. There were big drops sporadically throughout the ice and everyone was grossed out by it but no workers came to clean it up. (I don't know where it came from). I then saw footprints on the ice, like from dirty shoes, and I realized a woman didn't want to rent skates so she was walking on the ice with her shoes. It took a long time for any worker to make her get off the ice because there were NO workers supervising on the ice. There was a horrible screaming child (it was the worst screaming I had EVER heard) and the parents didn't take them outside, they just let their child scream for 15 minutes straight in everyone's ear. It's not really the arena's fault but it didn't add any more pleasantness to the experience. Last thing is when the zamboni came on, they gave us one short whistle warning to get off the ice and they didn't wait for everyone to get off before driving it on the ice. I had to try to painfully skate away from the zamboni as fast as I could because it was headed right toward me. All in all, worst experience ever, and it is not that difficult for my best friend and I to have fun ice skating usually. At the end of it, we both agreed that the experience was worth them paying US at least $10-15. read more

I've been here a few times now for the skate and shoot session. Pretty decent place, especially when it's a mile away from home. Early morning sessions for skate and shoot get busy on weekends, so wait for the later times if possible. The ice is decent and the lockers rooms are pretty standard. Nothing too fancy, but definitely better than other facilities I've seen in LA. Haven't played pickup yet, but I'll definitely check that out eventually! Went for stick time @ 4pm, what a joke! $15 for 1hr, no fresh sheet of ice, we had like 15 adults + one guy brought out his 3yr old kid on the small rink forced to stay under the blue line because coaches were running clinics on the rest of the ice. Total waste of time & money. UPDATE 6/9/2016 as an update to your reply over a year later. The issue isn't so much the people that show up, its that you use 2/3 of the rink for the private lessons and then the rest of the people are forced to play under the blue line. 15 people below the blue line? Thats a lot of people, apply a cutoff or open up at least half of the rink for people to use. A free stick time does me no good until you actually open up some rink space read more

If there was a half star option, this would be the moment, ladies and gentlemen. My friends and I usually frequent Anaheim Ice ( much better ), but there was a 'free skate' session open during a good time frame today, so we decided to try it out. Mind you, we had been here a few times to watch college hockey ( yes, they have teams ), so it's not like we were new or anything. The session started at 4PM, and we got there around 4:45PM. One rink was taken by some kids in full hockey gear, the other was open for free skating. So, we paid, geared up, and headed onto the ice. There was a small corner blocked off that was dedicated for a learn to skate hockey class, which wasn't bad. Still plenty of room to skate, right? Wrong...ten minutes into our session, they coned off over three-quarters of the ice for figure skating classes! I mean really, you call that a free skate? We were basically skating about in circles. After about two minutes we decided this was no good and headed for the front to get our money back. The lady at the counter was friendly and said she had to get the manager to give us a cash refund, so we went and took our skates off and headed back. This big, old guy came up to us and stated he was the General Manager and asked how he could help us. My friend began explaining our situation and asked for our refund. He proceeded to tell us it was company policy to not give cash refunds, but only a free pass to come back. She told him about the crowded rink and how ridiculous the free skate was, and he asked why we didn't look before we bought our passes. Really? Come on now, how dumb is that? We told him we were on the ice already when they started to rope it off, but he kept repeating no cash refunds like some sort of parrot. We asked him why, and he said again it's policy. When my friend asked if it was posted anywhere, he looked around for a moment before replying, and I quote, "It doesn't have to be." The only good thing about this place is the guy who runs the zamboni. He is pretty cool. Other than that, I'm sticking to Anaheim Ice, even though all the Ducks logos make me slightly ill. :) read more

as a hockey player, this is like the stepchild of all of the orange county rinks... here is why. 1. steps to the entrance... there are no ramps. so if you are a goaltender like me you are kind of screwed. because you would have to carry your stuff up the steps. 2. the ice... it's not bad. not bad if you are going for free skate or broom ball, it's fine. but if you are playing upper level hockey it's not great. especially on the small rink. that rink is tiny... almost as small as the "pond" rink at the toyota sports center. 3. the score boards...they have these plastic thing sheets covering them. again, as a goal tender, you can't read it. so you have no idea of the game time, penalty time etc. 4. i've subed a few times here... and each time, i've gotten ran over by some overly zealous weekend warrior. dude, this is not the stanley cup, and you are playing in the 40+ league on wednesdays, give it up. the admin is not bad. the stats are on line. the locker rooms are ok. showers are small. no snack bar, and a pro shop that has tape and sticks. on the plus side, it's right next to the freeway, hockeygiant, and mr. fritz's gentleman's club. moral of the story? give blood and play hockey... just not at KHS. read more

This ice rink is very rundown and the owners seem not to care about bringing much business when it comes to public skate. They play talk radio during the open skate time, lockers are broken and they won't refund your money if you lose it one of them, there are no video screens, and the rental skates are worn down to the nub. I've gone here before and now have realized how bad this place is. The skates absolutely suck and so does the ice. They also don't play music which really sucks and makes it kinda boring. Make sure to call for the times. I went online and it said public skating from 7:20-8:50 and when we got there around 7:15 we thought we were going to be skating until 8:50 but the kicked us off at 8. It's only $10 which includes skates. It's cheaper than most places and now I see why. It sucks in my opinion. There's hardly anyone there and there aren't workers on the ice. They also don't really train their workers well. The girl didn't know much about the skates and the sizes but she was really nice and it seemed like she didn't mind getting us different sizes. I probably won't go again i much rather go to the east west ice palace in Artesia. read more

I used to think this place was OK (Super No Frills Ice Skating Rink). It's really cold and the ice is always hard. I guess it was too hard and caused a huge crack in the ice on the center line. Rick (socalichockey.com) moved his pick up so I left and hadn't been back until last week. I came back for stick time and couldn't have been more disappointed. I payed my $15, got dressed and skated out on the ice only to see that it was 15 guys for 1/6 of the ice (half of one end of the between the blue line and the goal line). They had hockey clinics going on the rest of the ice. I promptly skated off and asked for a refund, but was told to wait for the manager. 45 minutes later the manager rolls up and says "NO REFUNDS" but will give me credit to come back. I was told this happens all the time, so I told him I wouldn't be back and would like a refund. Which he denied and booted me from his establishment. I've never been treated so poorly by a business and will never go there again. Save your money and go elsewhere. BTW no where did it say that they would be running clinics during stick time. read more

One of the worst rinks in California. I'd give it a zero if I could. Playing a tournament on the B rink where there is no seating and glass so fogged you can barely see the game. Meanwhile in the A rink with stadium seating, they hold a sticktime. Really??? WOW! Absolutey ridiculous read more

Stick time players... call ahead before going on weekends. Today they had 2/3 of the rink lessons, and put 20 stick timers on the other 1/3 of the rink. Definitely not worth the drive or $20 to find out no room to skate. read more
