There are walkways paved with marriage bricks from donors, hidden corners to explore, and even a wizarding academy that both of my girls immediately wanted to join. I had to remind them, "That is not what we are doing today. What we are doing today is making sure your sister has an idea of how we're going to decorate for her wedding day." But honestly? My girls did not want to leave. One of them had pickleball at 4:30 in Austin and completely missed it, and my very pregnant daughter had already skipped her nap and still hadn't had lunch. I kept saying, "Don't you need to go play pickleball? Don't you need to go take a nap and eat?" Nope. They still didn't want to leave. Yeah. It's that kind of spot. There was something to find around every corner. There was beer being served at 1 p.m., and the whole place felt so relaxed and joyful that my very pregnant daughter almost considered taking a drink. Even the door had a door sign. Which honestly? Perfect. It's a sign. On a door. About doors that are signs. I saw the signs, y'all. You should definitely book here. It's free, beautiful, and you're never gonna wanna go home. I also had the chance to watch a bride and her family trickle in, and it was truly magical. The chapel itself is beautiful, but the whole experience felt bigger than the building. It felt warm, human, peaceful, and full of story. That day, I also met both Ana, a photographer connected with Chapel Dulcinea, and officiant David James Nutter, and both left an impression. Even though I didn't watch Ana actually photograph the wedding, I did get to watch her set up and talk about the chapel with so much care and warmth. Later, I looked at her wedding photography online, and her work is breathtaking. Truly. It has the kind of beauty and tenderness you would expect from someone who is not just talented, but deeply caring. She also offers her services at a very decent price, which honestly says a lot about her heart. Her work looks like luxury, but her spirit feels generous. I also met officiant David James Nutter, and hearing his story was incredibly moving. We spoke about how he grew up in the Orthodox church and how that journey shaped him into someone deeply committed to serving people from all walks of life. His warmth, kindness, and openness stood out immediately. He listened thoughtfully as I shared parts of my own story and even followed up afterward with supportive messages. That kind of care is rare. We arranged for a non-traditional chair set up (they have really much white chairs that don't really need anything) and for the gas lanterns to be lit for the ceremony, and the set up was completely flawless when we arrived. The views are stunning pretty much any time of year, just perfect for amazing Hill Country photos, and you don't need a whole lot of extra decor...nature has it covered. We brought in only 2 black metal lanterns donned with candles and florals and perched them on the wood stumps on either side of the bell tower door at the front the for the ceremony, and it was perfect in every way. We highly recommend this location for a small wedding-you won't be disappointed!

When she reserved it, she put it on her credit card. She only recently went back to work after our kids have launched their careers so she is slowly building her credit. When we got there, I asked them to please put everything on my credit card which has a much higher limit. We checked out and everything was placed on my credit card and our balance was zero. Several days later I noticed that the pending charge had not been removed so I sent an email to them. They said give it a few days and if it hadn't fallen off by then contact them again. I contacted them again since the charge had not fallen off by last week. They apologized profusely and said they would escalate this quickly to their management and into accounting to take action. I contacted them yesterday and asked for an update and now they are ghosting me. Previously they had answered each email within a couple of hours. I called the credit card company and they said I could dispute the charge but only if the charge became final. They said even if it's pending for 90 or 120 days, as long as the charge is pending, I cannot dispute it. So yes, Camp Lucy is a lovely place, but follow through on overpayments is severely lacking from either management or accounting.

We loved the hot tub and the pool. We mostly took advantage of these amenities and our cabin's private porch during the night. It was quiet and private and perfect. The only thing that we wished we knew ahead of time was that there is a severe incline in the road down to get to our cabin from the entrance of the resort. I drive a GMC Acadia SUV and we could make it down the incline but had to be pushed back up again. After the first time, we actually parked up by where the owner lives and walked back and forth to the cabin. This would be fine for an average abled person but I am disabled and this left me in quite a bit of pain for a large portion of the trip and recovering at home after.

The staff and manager were incredibly friendly and helpful and laid back! I could only find a few issues with the villa. There were hairs in our tub, so I cleaned it myself prior to my wife and I using it (which I didn't mind doing, as I am not snobby or beneath a little cleaning). Also, the bathroom window has no blinds or curtain, so when other guests decide to venture down to our patio, we have to be lucky not to be showering or standing nude at the time that they do. However, these couple little things are not enough to make me lower my rating of the place! Overall, the villa is amazing! A nice place to have that luxury feeling while being the perfect place to relax! I HIGHLY recommend this place for romantic getaways or for relaxation getaways. My wife and I would love to go again sometime for another mini romantic getaway from the kids.

this property and concept is so absolutely special it's hard to put into words. we stayed in Cabin…read moreAnna and wowwww! leslie greeted us when we got there and gave us the rundown on everything we needed to know. she was welcoming and kind and extremely responsive in text with any questions we had - you can tell she takes a lot of pride in what they've come up with here. it was storming when we got there, but we peeled back the wood walls and enjoyed sitting under the rain in the glass. when the rain stopped, we fully opened the glass walls, soaked in the bath, and took in the full moon. we were warmed by the in-house fire pit and my husband had a kick out of chopping the wood. the house was stocked with everything we needed, but there's an adorable mercantile store with snacks, souvenirs, and "i wish we had..." items. we cooked most of our meals on site and dined al fresco - our favorite was using the pizza oven inside the grill. i was worried we would be fighting bugs, but we hardly ever saw any. we cherished drinking our morning coffee in the private hot tub and on the last day the husband finally got the courage to cold plunge after sitting in the sauna - he LOVED it and wished he had done it sooner. we spent a couple hours shopping in "downtown" Dripping Springs (Starrs on Mercer and Old Vintage) and found live music and local beers at the Barber Shop bar, only about 15-20 minutes from the cabin. we hiked a few trails at the nearby Pedernales State Park (even if you're not a "hiker" the short trail to see the falls is worth it). on the drives back to the cabin, we were always greeted by the neighbors' free-roaming cows and group of goats. we meant to spend time at the gorgeous event space that has outdoor sitting areas, crafts, and games to bring back to the cabin, but we ended up spending our time drinking wine and staring up in awe at the stars and savoring the quiet. our last conversation when we were leaving was: "when can we come back???"

We were only there for one night, but we were looking forward to the "full hot breakfast," only to be disappointed. While the breakfast spread had a very nice assortment of fresh fruits and pastries, the only hot breakfast item was a lukewarm, spinach quiche, and there was a basket of biscuits. There were also no breakfast items that had meat of any kind. The coffee was very good and what I had of the breakfast offerings I enjoyed, but overall, was disappointed with the lack of hot breakfast items and the lack of a meat option. There was one disappointing aspect about the room, despite its beauty. You'll be able to see from the pictures how beautiful this room was so breakfast issues aside, the beauty and natural lighting alone made this room feel like a retreat. However, we did have trouble flushing the loo in our room and when I messaged management about it, I was told that it was only one year-old and I should just have to "jiggle the handle." So unfortunately, I left feeling a bit frustrated about being gaslit by management about the lavatory issue.
