Bad experience!! We wanted a bottle of wine to take back to Motel room and asked were in town we could buy one. Bartender said NOWHERE except this place or drive 20+ miles which would be more then the $22 bottle they sold me if you figure in gas, so I bought one believing it. GOT SCAMMED. I walked to General Market two doors down to buy a few items and BAM, bottled wines of all types much much cheaper. I told Market cashier what happen and she was shocked because the market is owned by the same owners as ROADKILL. She called Roadkill and asked if I could bring back unopened bottle I paid cash for with tip for a refund. ROADKILL REFUSED and said basically too bad so sad!...BEWARE, A TRUE TOURIST TRAP!!! read more

Stopped in for breakfast on our way from Laughlin to Jerome it's about 1/2 way. The biscuits and gravy were absolutely amazing! To do it again I would get a bigger order!!! We added it instead of toast. The biscuits and gravy are homemade and the biscuits are the perfect crispy so they don't get soggy!!! Food was great and the restaurant is adorable with a little gift store in the back. Worth the stop. read more

Definitely an old town feel to this place that suits it. The staff is friendly and they had a decent size menu, although the foods had unique names they were just normal American food. I do wish they did sell some more exotic food given their name but overall we loved it. We got the riblets, fried steak, and the kids had a bean burrito. Overall everything tasted amazing, our favorite was the riblets, and their hot sauces were a must buy. We'll be back if we ever come down this path :) read more

This cafe is striking in appearance. The name and names on the menu could cause a person to wonder the mental status of its owner. However, it seems to play well in a light hearted way. The interior was well kept and comfortable which is good. I ordered a breakfast burrito. I was very glad my seat was comfortable, because after waiting 15 minutes, I began to wonder if one of the buzzards had attacked the cook. I can't rate the food because I left before it ever arrived. It was a cold and snowy day, I-15 was shut down due to snow and ice. Walked in and no one greeted us at all. Took several minutes before someone acknowledge us. (They were not busy at all.) We were then given the table RIGHT by the door! (Plenty of other vacant tables away from the door...) Waited for over 15 minutes just to get our drink order taken. We moved ourselves to another table because no wait staff was checking on us. The food was different temps, on each item on the plate. Nothing was more than just warm, but we had waited so long at that point we ate it. Very Disappointing! read more

The town of Seligman AZ is a cool old town but not entirely exciting. It does have a fair collection of restaurants for a small town such as it is. And a lot of Route 66 theming since Route 66 is the main road through town. Right off of that historic road sits the Road Kill Cafe. How could I pass that up? I drove an extra 25 miles beyond where I was staying just to have dinner here. For dinner I ordered "Mystery Meat." Just one of many road kill themed food names on the menu. But not to worry, its all fresh food. No actual road kill served here. My meal was, in reality, a roast beef and gravy open faced sandwich and mashed potatoes. Good stuff. Piles of tender beef on some white bread. A healthy scoop of potatoes. A solid drenching of dark brown gravy. This is comfort food and a very nice meal. I ordered a slice a cheese cake to take back to my hotel. I ate that about an hour later. The restaurant was not too busy on the night I went. It is kind if a tourist trap and I was in on a Thursday evening in early May. Not exactly prime tourist season. Beneficial for me. Since it was not busy servoce was good. Friendly and attentive. I don't know that I will make it back to Seligman and the Road Kill Cafe any time soon. But I'd stop by again were I in the area. read more

Overall not a bad experience at all. The roadhouse feel of the restaurant is very cool, and the chairs were actually comfortable to sit in. The staff was very friendly, and made us feel welcome. There are no masks being worn in here, so be advised if you're sensitive about that kind of thing. I went with a bison burger, and while it was certainly tasty it was a little smaller than I would've liked. The potato salad that came with it it was delicious and had a nice little bit a kick to it. My brother ordered the Ruben and indicated it was delicious, my son was also pleased with his hamburger. Overall we would certainly come here again! read more

The roadkill cafe was recommended as a stop on our AZ road trip. It was worth a stop for the photos but not the food. We ordered Bison burgers and a kids pizza. The pizza was one of those microwaveable ones that you buy at Costco in a multipack. We should have opted for a kids burger but he really wanted pizza. Our mistake. The bison burger was thin and over cooked and the fries were soggy. The service was slow, what we thought would be a quick stop turned into 2 hours. On the plus side the staff - while understaffed - was very friendly and the beer was cold, oh and the photo opts were great. read more

I am confused about claims which state this is "basic diner food" -- what kind of basic diner have you gone to that has elk burgers, crab cakes, clams (just to name a few)? Sure, Road Kill offers basic diner menu items, but no one said you have to get them. I came here en route to see Havasu Falls, and both my father and I found our food and the ambiance highly satisfactory. My elk burger was very tasty, and I do not recall what my pops had but I know he enjoyed it. Fun and interesting spot to stop at for a break and a nice bite to eat! read more

Overall review for this meal = 2.5 * / we just didn't enjoy the dinners. Customer service was pretty good, welcoming to be sure. Restaurant was clean, too. Soup, chili and fresh loaf of bread? Very good!! Fried chicken? Hmmm, battered skin was too hard to bite into, without exaggeration. Chicken tenders? Not much flavor, likely frozen and dropped into hot oil...very dry and bland, don't waste your appetite on this one. Thick-cut fries? So dry that even condiments didn't help and salt wouldn't stick....some pieces so overcooked there was no potato meat in there, just a hard, dry potato thing....sorry, really bad. I'm sure there are better things on the menu, or foods the cook is better at, but struggling with frozen cut fries is special, to be sure. Ate at Lilo's last night and loved every bite, just wanting to try other places while we're here. I think the Roadkill is in its name, just OK. read more

Color me naive but I was really hoping for roadkill.....or at least some interesting meats besides beef, chicken, one elk burger and one bison burger. Yeah, no. Masks and social distancing was in full effect and I'm appreciative for that. We had a couple of beers that were nice and cold while we split a cheese crisp appetizer. Definitely not crisp but holy hell was there a lot of cheese on it, almost like an open faced quesadilla. Add a little of their pico and it was pretty decent. Ordered up a chili size (very average) to split and some dessert to go - a piece of coconut meringue pie (delicious!) and their apple chimichanga (meh - little tortillas filled with apple pie filling and fried then drizzled with chocolate sauce). It's a spacious place and the restrooms are clean. The staff is friendly **to each other** !! Walked to the restroom and one of the cooks was rubbing his hands all over the server's butt which she was thoroughly enjoying. I mean, hook up all you want but please keep your flirting and PDA in the back room. Just felt this deserved mentioning because it shows a lack of respect for customers. read more

A roadside cafe in Seligman AZ. It is fun, for what it is. There is no reason to eat here other than A) you're in Sligman because you need gas or B) you're riding Route 66. SO, IF YOU'RE RIDING RT 66, this is a fantastic place to stop. It's the kind of place where RT66 meets the West. Cafe with Buffalo burgers and pie that stands 10 inches tall. I had the elk burger and it was a good burger. Honestly nothing more and nothing less. The real shout out I would give if for the fresh made chips. Restaurant was cute. The food was okay, and the service was terrible. We came in, they sat us down and it took them a while to ask what drink we wanted even though multiple servers walked around us. One of them was super busy but others were sitting around. After receiving the drinks, we placed our order and walked around the store while we waited. I saw them set our food under the lamp and heard them ding the bell, no one acknowledged it. I saw our server pick up plates off of a table then go chat with another server who had just turn the corner. After getting our food my vegetables were cold. We started eating, and I saw our server sit down to eat. Then the bell made a ding, no one went to it until our poor server got up to get it for them. We finished eating and our server look at us the grabbed a basket of food and sat down to eat again. Another one swept a few spots then went and sat down next to her. One of them was rolling silverware there were 3 total sitting around. Finally someone came and brought us the check. Again the food was decent and the desserts looked amazing. This place was an an ok experience. My family and I stopped by on our way back home from our trip to the Grand Canyon. The food was nothing of the ordinary. Nothing really stood out as extra special to comment and rave about. Drinks are served in mason jars. There's a small gift shop and bar inside which was convenient as I shopped for souvenirs while waiting after ordering food. They also have a big selection of pies which we didn't have an appetite for unfortunately-Not because it didn't look good, but perhaps we were just exhausted. The food was between not good and okay quality, but very overpriced for the quality and quantity you get. I got a burger, it was fine, but it was also overpriced. My dad, who was with me, ordered a French dip sandwich, and got a sandwich obviously made with cheap lunchmeat roast beef, and was tiny. We both paid nearly $20 for our meals, which is ridiculous. We've gotten better food and customer service from gas stations, which is sad. We also had to pay a convenience fee, for no reason. Also, I saw our server be rude to someone who just needed to use the bathroom. Sure, they weren't ordering, but the nearest bathroom would've been 30 miles either direction. It's absurd that they wouldn't just let them use the bathroom, or at least offer to sell them something cheap, or something. I mean there were kids with them, like come on. My son and I stopped here while driving back from Williams Arizona. We stopped at a local trinket store and this place was recommended. 6 stars for the food, 5 stars for the service and 5 stars for the portion size. Food is average and typical Americana, but that serves the Route 66 theme, and they have fun "roadkill" names for the food items. Todays service was amazing, everyone kind and friendly.
