The food was between not good and okay quality, but very overpriced for the quality and quantity you get. I got a burger, it was fine, but it was also overpriced. My dad, who was with me, ordered a French dip sandwich, and got a sandwich obviously made with cheap lunchmeat roast beef, and was tiny. We both paid nearly $20 for our meals, which is ridiculous. We've gotten better food and customer service from gas stations, which is sad. We also had to pay a convenience fee, for no reason. Also, I saw our server be rude to someone who just needed to use the bathroom. Sure, they weren't ordering, but the nearest bathroom would've been 30 miles either direction. It's absurd that they wouldn't just let them use the bathroom, or at least offer to sell them something cheap, or something. I mean there were kids with them, like come on. Definitely would not recommend. I'd give 0 stars if I could. I feel ripped off. read more

Great little spot to stop and have a bite to eat. The menu is super cool with little quirky names. Perfect for the touristy area of Seligman. The waitresses were friendly and made sure we were attended to. The food was really good and cooked exactly as we had ordered. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because in order to sit outside on the patio, you have to get your food to go. So you won't have service outside. Besides that, its an amazing spot that I will definitely return to next time I'm in the area. read more

My man & I stopped by for a bite while on our mini vacation to the Grand Canyon & Zion National Park. We came in & sat where we wanted & it didn't take long at all to have someone place our orders. Our orders were out fast which was awesome! (We were both hungry from our long drive) We were honestly amazed at how fresh & delicious our burgers were. I wanted to get out of town for a day before it got too hot so I rode to Kingman and took Route 66 East to Seligman. I had never been on that stretch of Route 66 and for most of the ride it was pretty boring except for 20+ freight trains I saw. I had thought I would be getting to Seligman about midday and I did. My stomach said LUNCH! The town is mostly worn. The restaurant is no exception, it was clean though. I got a window seat so I could people watch. For lunch I decided on a club sandwich with coleslaw. The food was OK. The iced tea came in a big mason jar, never did need to have it refilled. The waitress was pleasant and when I asked let me know that due to the freeway access being closed for repairs on the West end of town gas was ten cents a gallon cheaper to attract customers. read more

We took a small detour to Seligman to experience Route 66. Had dinner at the Roadkill Cafe little spontaneously as our trip onwards was still a few more hours. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Options for Vegetarians are limited but we were not disappointed overall. Little greasy but tasty. read more

Three words: dry dry dry. We ordered the * Elk Burger ($14.49), * T Bone Steak ($22.99), * Buffalo Burger ($16.49), * BBQ Pork Burger ($11.99), * and last but not least the Fungi Burger ($11.99) in which the cook accidentally messed up & gave us instead a Frijole Bean Burger. The waiter apologized and begged us to just eat the burger so as not to waste food, while promising us a discount. When we got the bill, the "discount" was $1.00 off, yippee. The elk burger & buffalo burger tasted the exact same, DRY, had a burnt outer sear, and had an indistinguishable taste (could've been ground beef for all I knew). The T Bone Steak disappointed me the most as it was the DRYEST, toughest steak u could ever eat. I honestly didn't even know steaks could come like this. Vegas's juicy $12 steggs are 100x better than this "roadkill". The BBQ Pork Burger was not bad as the meat was sliced thinly and doused with sauce so you couldn't taste the meat quality. I didn't try the Frijole Burger, but I did notice that there were some pico de gallo & fre shavacado so I guess that's a plus? #42/2016 Wonderfully bizarre, only-in-America kind of joint that begged to be chosen of two restaurant options in downtown Seligman. We were greeted with big, friendly smiles and even my grumpy Gus who'd slept poorly (aww) started guffawing over the playful, somewhat grossly titled menu items. But how could you not crack a smile over the silly names: "One Eyed Dog Hit in the Fog" and "Splatter Platter". It was a little bit Looney Tunes/Road Runner meets great diner food. And, breakfast did not disappoint. I went all in with chicken fried steak with country gravy (heck yeah it had sausage), two eggs, perfect hash browns (skip the toast) with a bottomless cup of coffee. My little boy chose from the kids' menu, "Lightning McQueen Got Too Lean" of 2 pancakes with a side of bacon- with cinnamon butter (which, as simple a concept, was kind of a revelation- I had a knife tip taste, delicious ). Totally funky second room (looks like it's a bar/souvenir shop) with taxidermist-stuffed animals the restaurant bought when the guy went out of business were melancholy but beautiful in their own way. This restaurant will make you wish you lived in Seligman , Arizona. I gotta admit it's been hard to find some good Buffalo wings since we landed in Arizona . Usually you can tell that they just come out of a bag and are all frozen and have that heartburn coating on them . Not these here though . They are every bit as good as the wings I used to get at Olivers in Oak Forest Illinois . The rest of the food was real good too . I am a patty melt addict and this place did not disappoint . The bar and lounge area also looked like a place where you could easily kill a few hours if you weren't on the way home from a wrestling tournament with a 12 year old kid that you are trying not to lead astray. The owner of the place also showed me what tourist destinations were in the area and she was a real peach . I will definitely be back to Seligman and the Roadkill Cafe . read more

What a great family owned place to stop and enjoy Route 66! Great burger selection & fun to read menu! They offered a Buffalo & Elk burger and I got the Buffalo. (Both have very little fat so have it cooked medium or more pink.) Hubby had the Nacho Burger plus bacon & no bun. It came with a huge fire roasted jalapeño on top. He was in Heaven!! They offer a big 24 oz mug for beer on draft and a soft drink comes in a huge mason jar. The bar area has animal mounts including 3 large elk. Off the famous Route 66 it's no mystery it has a rustic feel as soon as your dive by but the staff is welcoming. The menu is awesome and big it's hard to make a decision but it all looks really good. I ordered sweet tea (brewed fresh) with chili cheese fries to start and they went down fast. Portion for both tea and fries was generous. To finish it off I enjoyed the Elk burger with pretzel bun. It was decent nothing amazing the meat was juicy and mild. Maybe the buffalo would have been better but I enjoyed it all. read more

On Sunday afternoon at 3 PM there is plenty of parking. Road Kill Cafe was quick to seat our group of 10. We got our menus quickly. They were verbose and a nightmare for someone on diet to navigate. The $12 -$15 hamburgers seemed to be about 1700 calories. They did not offer soup, or salad, although you could order a $20 dinner that came with salad. Coffee was $3.99. The menu online is not the one we were handed at the diner. The service was lacking. I was not offered a second cup of coffee. From the time the first person was served, to the last, it took ten minutes. The food is delicious. So if you want to increase your girth, and eat hardy this is the place for you. read more

We stopped by here to fuel up at the midway point to the Grand Canyon. It reminded me a bit of Claim Jumpers, since it had a cool Western motif and a cute name. I got the chicken tenders with cole slaw, and the wife got the French dip with French Fries. The tenders were well seasoned, and had crispy outside and juicy tender inside. Slaw was pretty good too. My wife's French Dip sandwich however was way over seasoned - it was cooked well but was salty before dipping. Her fries were really good though - fried golden crisp and not oily at all! Service was great, and it's cool they have this little IQ test (a peg puzzle) to keep you entertained while food arrives. It's actually pretty fun and addictive - I only got the "so so" rating of 25 points at best while the maximum score is 200 with "genius" rating. Guess I should stick to chess :) read more

We stopped here because this is the Roadkill Cafe on Route 66. On their sign it say that they have famous buffalo burgers. Not gonna lie, I may have had a small hangover, so I asked my waitress what the bartenders specialty drink was, and ended up ordering a bahama mama. My husband ordered a breakfast hamburger, an I ordered a buffalo burger. I asker Donna if the buffalo burger was popular and juicy, to shock I was told the guests liked them, and the burgers were lean and tasty. I got tater salad, old man got fries. My drink was in an 8 oz glass full of ice...charged for a double. Hubs dies were cold, but his burger was incredible! Mine SUCKED! I asked for my toppings on the side. I wish I had takes a pic. It was a FROZEN buffalo burger with a warm bun on top and ice cold bottom bun with ABSOLUTELY nothing on it or any sauce. We had asked if the meat was fresh before ordering and was assured they were... Hubs burger was fresh...my hubs asked her to check to see if it was frozen. She found out they ARE! I WAS STARVING! I took one bite of tater salad and my plate was swept away. One burger one drink was $25 with $5 tip cuz it wasn't the servers fault. 2 stars only for their honesty, and the servers were very nice. Chicken wings had good flavor but funky freezer burn texture. Think of worse than a chicken nugget texture... The jalapeño poppers were the worst we've had.
