The service was great but food was not. I could have done without this stop. You can decide.

This was unfortunately a low point and a rare mistake on an otherwise fun Arizona vacation. My chum and I stopped over here on the way to Williams (basically a mini side trip up from Phoenix that went through Prescott - not recommended. Nothing over there and it's not worth it). I have a weakness for eccentric/weirdly named establishments, so I had my eye on this place for probably the wrong reasons, admittedly. I don't think there's a nice way to say this, but Seligman is pretty much a dump. I encountered quite a few Arizona locals in subsequent travels within the state, and ALL of them mentioned meth when describing it. This is not a place you intentionally go to visit; it's a place you stop at for a bathroom break or something on the way to or from Vegas or Los Angeles. We walked around for about 20 minutes after the meal, and it was stunning how rundown the residential houses on this touristy stretch of Route 66 are; literally 80% of them look condemned. Pretty bleak stuff. The interior décor of Roadkill is pretty much as advertised - it's A LOT of taxidermy. I didn't get the impression that the stuffed deer covering the walls had been killed on the road/in the line of duty, but that might be a pretty big ask. I thought it was a little weird how the staff went out of their way to brag that the owner of the establishment had killed all of the animals on the wall themselves (and there's an odd display by the bathroom with pictures of him beaming proudly next to corpses) but your mileage definitely might vary on that. It feels weird to say this, but both of us were disappointed that this place didn't actually have something at least mildly exotic on the menu, given its name. I was expecting a weird type of animal meat to sup on, but it's just normal food with roadkill-esque menu names. If I were them, I'd try to get rattlesnake or gator or something like that - you can literally get a hamburger anywhere. I opted for the buffalo burger, which was the edgiest entrée I could find. It was okay, though obviously a pre-made, frozen patty and on the greasier side. It came with steak fries, which were a little undercooked for me at least. On the positive side, we both thought everyone was incredibly nice and hospitable. We sat at the bar near the gift shop (pretty legit one for what it's worth, with a lot of variety in terms of the offerings - I bought a shirt for my father that I know he'll be wearing proudly), and the bartender was very pleasant. I was just drinking water, but the service was perfectly fine on all counts. I don't recall having to wait long for anything during our meal, and it was a chill enough vibe where we both separately wandered off the bar stools to look around and possibly pose next to dead moose while we waited for our food. I didn't know this until after my Arizona adventures, but Route 66 has touristy stuff pretty much all the way through the state. Based on what I saw, I would absolutely bypass this stretch of it and focus on Williams and Flagstaff - much better options as you travel east. read more

I ordered a chicken wrap with crispy chicken. The waitress advised me that they only had grilled chicken and asked If that would be ok. I said yes. What I got was basically a soggy salad wrapped in a tortilla, due to runny Ranch dressing. I pulled out the soggy lettuce to find only a few pieces of "grilled chicken" with the texture of previously grilled and frozen chicken, with no taste whatsoever. When the waitress asked how everything was, I replied that the wrap was mostly lettuce. Her response..yeah, the wraps have a lot of lettuce. No offer to replace it with something else. For $17.99, they need to do much better, or at least, call it what it is, a salad wrap. read more

Stopped here on our drive. Husband had the club. I had the chimmi changas. The food was good. The chimmis were supposed to be 4 but they only had 3. The bun was very dry and hard, the French fries were dry and hard. The mini chimis were pretty good. Ordered the Catfish Fry Special. I was expecting fish filets, but only received skunky-tasting overcooked tail scraps, of which I could only stomach one. Coleslaw was dry, and like it sat out all day. A little bit of acid could've fixed that. read more

Came here on a quick weekend trip with my boyfriend and his parents who only speak French. I was super impressed with the staff here who actually spoke a little French. It was on Sunday afternoon on our way back to Vegas airport, we stopped by and one of the servers actually spoke a little French with my bfs parents. It was super nice and he was generally just very friendly and welcoming! This is also the birthplace of Route 66 so a really cool place to stop! ***LOCATION*** On historic Route 66 in this little part of town that looks like the city from Cars. It was very cute and highly recommend stoping by the area on your way to the Grand Canyon! ***ATMOSPHERE*** Cool vibe inside. They have a bar and restaurant. There's also a little gift souvenir shop. We were able to sit at the tables in the souvenir area, order, then shop a little while we waited for our food. We were in a rush to catch our flight and they got us in and out in 45 min and we were able to shop so that was nice! ***FOOD*** The food was good. I just got the chicken strips, they weren't the best I've ever had and tasted a little more like a frozen strip and not like a hand breaded one. The crust was flat and a little burnt almost but we were starved since we hadn't really eaten the night before as we spent it on the side of the road with a blown out tire lol. But they weren't bad just average. I think my bf and his dad enjoyed their Philly cheesesteaks! I think they prob have much better items. The chicken is prob more of a picky eater kid option they have but I wouldn't recommend it if you eat all meat, I think some of the red meat options were better :) the fries were hand cut and VERY good !! ***CONCLUSION*** Highly recommend stopping in for a drink or to grab food and pick up a few souvenirs. First of all, who wouldn't want to try out a place with a name like Roadkill Cafe? It is a nice place and clean with great service. The food came out at a reasonable time. They also have a gift shop on the bar side of the restaurant. We got the Swirl of Squirrel burger with a fried egg which was an extra cost. The burger was a little pricey but it was huge and well worth the money. The burger was really good! We would definitely recommend this sandwich. read more

Stopped in at the roadkill café on my way to the Grand Canyon and it was the best decision we made. The food tasted amazing. It came out very quickly. The staff was attentive to our table and we didn't have to wait long to sit down. They do have a very large menu to choose from. This location is super cute because it does have a lot outside to entertain you after or before eating. When going to this location, you feel that you are stepping back in time and the names of the food are super cute. It just reminds you of the west. My family and I definitely enjoyed this place and would highly recommend it and will be going back next time We are in Arizona. read more

Stopped on our way to the Grand Canyon. Very mediocre and way overpriced for what it is. $20 for a burger? This is Seligman, not Los Angeles. The wrap was supposed to have ranch and didn't so we asked for a side. They charged us 59 cents for something that was supposed to be on it already. And it's 8 bucks for a beer. Again, you're in a dump town in Arizona but charging like it's New York City. Avoid this place and the town. You'll thank me later. read more

An interesting place to stop. Halfway between Flagstaff and Vegas, this tourist stop is worth the visit. The restaurant is also a gift shop and museum and outside there is a mock western town. I loved the decor and the people who worked here. What I was unhappy with is that the food is hit or miss. My son had ribs and really enjoyed the plate. I had the bbq steak sandwich and thought the sauce too sweet and the bread to bready. read more

This place is sucks , when we seat down my boyfriend order me an ice tea , but the server not even ask what my boyfriend wanna to drink, she just drop off 2 ice tea, while I went to use the restroom , after that there were 5 tables set after us , and the server never came back take our order , but told the hostess , we were the last table seat down , so she went took all the table orders not even get any drinks yet on there tables . After a long journey, we were not only tired, but also hungry. This place was near our hotel, and I couldn't wait to eat something delicious. We tried beer, chicken and ribs, and I don't know how someone can decide that it's tasty. The gravy tasted like glue. It had too much flour, and nothing else. I couldn't finish my meal. The ribs weren't tasty at all. It's sad because the place is interesting and the staff is also nice. Everything I've tried here is excellent, with generous portions. The wings are a huge hit with my family. Burgers are creative and tasty! Caesar salad is wonderful, as are the humongous pies for dessert. Looking forward to trying breakfast! Service was excellent each time we've visited, and it's worth buying their variety of hot sauces in the gift shop. Things to know; there can be a wait for food during busy hours, but it is worth it. Right on Route 66.. excellent place for traditional American cuisine. The local tap beer is a must try. Found the appetizers nicely prepared but the veggie burger could have been juicy. It was our first time eating at the Roadkill Cafe. Me and my hubby decided to go out for a ride and took the dirt road from Prescott. It was 1 hr and 1/2 not a bad drive at all and the day was beautiful. The scenery was beautiful lots of views of trees , dirt and paths of being so open out there. I think we only seen about 5 cars that obviously came down from highway 40 because there's not a lot houses out there a few Ranches but that's about it. We enjoy getting out and exploring. Anyway the food was good at the Roadkill Cafe I had the roast beef sandwich and homemade potato chips yummy. My hubby had the charbroil chicken sandwich and homemade potato chips. We were to full to even try their homemade Pie which looked delicious and huge I definitely recommend checking out the Roadkill Cafe and we will definitely be back. read more

Continues to be a fun place to stop on the mother road. The food has generous portions. My kids love the fried fish - it's crunchy and the steak fries are good. My husband had a yummy, fresh and generous chef salad. I had bbq ribs which were Smokey and meaty, it came with a yummy little loaf of bread we all shared and a side salad that again was very fresh. Wow! Oh wow! What a yummy spot! Stopped because we hadn't eaten all day and needed to stretch the legs.
