One of the best tattoo artists in the Bay Area. If you make a appointment with Daniel you are going to be dealing with a professional. From your first inquiry to the day of your appointment, pricing is low for the level of expertise that you are getting. You tell him what you want and provide your samples and he goes to work creating a one of a kind piece for you. Personally I went for some mandala and dot work, everything is on point. If you are looking for a artist that is up front and doesn't hide anything then you should book your appointment. When you think of putting something on your body that is permanently on there. Why go and try and save a couple bucks when you have a true gifted artist right in your backyard, don't be one of those people to instantly regret what you got. Screw. This. Place. I just came back from Body Jewlz in San Jose where I went to get a different stud for my recent nose ring. I told the piercer about how my L Bar kept falling out and how I (who have previously had a nose piercing that was a snapping stud) was really uncomfortable with the re piercing. The piercer said that the piercer from The Rock Zone had pierced my nose in the wrong place in the wrong way too high in my crease (not even where my old piercing was which is what I asked for) and now my nose was swelling shut with a keloid and the L Bar hadn't been fitted to my nose at all. I had been properly cleaning my nose with salt water 2-3 times daily for the four days I had had this new piercing. He recommended I took the piercing out, waited till it healed and get it redone. So I just had to pay $50 to get a piercing on the opposite side and the piercer at Body Jewlz was nice enough to remove the one I had gotten from The Rock Zone. Do not go to The Rock Zone, nose piercings don't bleed if done right, L Bars shouldn't fall out, and when done correctly, they don't even hurt. Do not get a piercing here, it isn't cheaper, go to a place where they check your 18-year-old self for an ID and make you sign paperwork. read more

My 19 year old brother was committed to getting a tattoo done by Daniel Silva at The Rock Zone. He filled in the initial email with every detail (and several photos) and once Daniel said he was interested, my brother paid the deposit. It appears that Daniel did not read this email, as their one phone call and several text messages indicate Daniel's significant dislike for the archangel/protector tattoo my brother described. Daniel was condescending, close-minded, and frankly, an arrogant piece of work. This would be my brothers first tattoo. He has been working two jobs to pay for Daniel's tattoo, and the flight to LA from Australia. He has been shamed and insulted by Daniel. Daniel's final messages were coming in so fast, and so full of insults and name-calling, that my brother has now blocked his number. There were a number of administrative slips at the very beginning, which was excusable given how crazy talented Daniel is as an artist. However, his attitude and lack of professionalism, especially when faced with a 19 year old, is shameful. read more

FOR SILVA: Sharp eye for detail in his art, and a total pro to me and my gf! Some of these reviews seem beyond me. Me and my partner are both feminists AND activists, and we talked to him at length about woman's issues (he even expressed positive thoughts about intersectionality), and he even seemed to care. I was actually impressed by his knowledge. That is why these other reviews about "bitch", this and that, seems way off to me. My gf was tattooed without me the first two sessions, and knowing her, she would've said something. He did have to stop and handle other business a couple times, but he wasn't obnoxious about it. Also, he was pretty cleanly to boot. I've heard of jealousy and sabotage from competition before, and I've heard of people turning personality differences into bigger issues than they really are. Just last week I was tattooed by Daniel Silva after being fortunate enough to win his tattoo giveaway on Instagram in February, and it honestly could not have been a more satisfying experience. Daniel was surprisingly patient with me when I was pinpointing exactly what I wanted to get tattooed. In the end, I let him have complete freedom with my tattoo and the end result is PERFECT! It's also healing very nicely :) It was a pleasure to be tattooed by Daniel! I contribute some credit to his music selection, but the rest of the credit goes to him for being an awesome tattoo artist! Sitting over 6 hours for a tattoo has never been easier. I LOVE THIS PLACE. It's great! It has so much variety! I always go there, the quality is really good and the prices don't get any cheaper for what you get. They have great deals and are very fair about the returning policy and such. I go there all the time and not once have I been disappointed, their pipes are great and really sturdy, no the man behind the counter doesn't lie...and the owner is really cool, if you need a percing, he's a phone call away which is really great and useful. We didn't get to see the drawing till we showed up the day of the tattoo. We weren't too pleased with it so we rescheduled for another date. He said he wouldn't charge us another deposit (why would he). Then he sends an email hrs. later changing his mind saying that we have to pay another $200. This fool is a premadonna shady prick. Eddie is super friendly and if you are a regular customer and not rude he will cut you some pretty good deals. He apparently works there because his art work isn't good enough to take to a REAL tattoo shop. I went in here about 3 days ago to get my tounge redone because it got infected at the place I originally done and Boss did a great job he was quick and it was relatively painless, and he even convinced me to get my snake bites done also.
