She does excellent work and is very professional. Jessica makes you feel extremely comfortable during sugarings (given the situation, haha) - no reason to feel awkward around her. For people new to sugaring, she explains the benefits and procedures very matter-of-factly, as she is extremely knowledge and experienced. My body hairs are mostly blonde and hard to see, but she always does a "final inspection" to ensure that her sugared off all the hard-to-see hairs. Her sugaring prices are reasonable and competitive. Jessica's facials are heavenly! She customizes facials to each client's skin. The products she uses on my sensitive skin are amazing and have little fragrance to them, which I prefer, as I'm sensitive to strong smells. She is not at all pushy about selling the product line, but if you ask for her advice, the information she provides is extremely helpful. During the facial, she also provides you with a foot massage (after wrapping your feet with hot towels - so nice!) and a shoulder/neck massage, as well as diamond microdermabrasion and a special light for aging skin (if needed, like me). However, I arrived a bit early and was seen promptly. Her studio is very clean and tidy. Alyzza was incredibly skilled at waxing and trimming my stray eyebrow hairs, and was super friendly and easy to talk to throughout. She always let me know what she was doing to my brows, and really worked with me on the tint. This was what impressed me the most. I was struggling to describe the color that I wanted, and she asked to see a picture of my makeup. She then mixed some shades to give me exactly what I wanted for my brows. i came here with a groupon for a gel manicure with allana. there aren't many reviews for her ("nail…read morecare by allana"), or this salon.. it was a gamble. i lost. beware, this salon does NOT look like the pictures on yelp. it is run down, dirty, and old. it seems out of place in this part of downtown. the salon is filled with clutter and made me feel very.. unsanitary. it is basically a barber shop with a few chairs, and a nail booth rental. allana is a nice older woman, but her hands are not steady. she wore black rubber gloves the entire manicure, probably because her arms were filled with open sores/scabs. she appeared to be talking to herself while she was working on me, and even stopped to answer her cell phone TWICE. when she had the cuticle nippers in hand, i literally felt fear that she was going to cut me. her tools were dirty, as the sanitizing liquid had tons of skin cells floating at the bottom of the jar. i had the urge to get up and leave, mid manicure, several times. i did not know what to do; i was already in her chair and did not want to judge her based on looks... but once she started applying the gel, i knew my instinct was right. her gel application is thick, uneven, and messy. the gel ended up on my cuticles and even under my nail. halfway through, she excused herself to use the restroom, and i'm 98% certain she kept the gloves she had on while she used the restroom, and did not wash her hands. she did not take long, and when she returned, her gloves seemed untouched. well, i survived, but basically i paid $17 for a gel manicure that will last a few days, and for 30 minutes of anxiety.
