    Beef nachos

Great place for the basic munchies. The nachos here are amazing and they even have fries nachos. Not my thing, but regular nachos are! I've gotten the nachos with carne asada a few times and love it. It's the fake nacho cheese, jalapenos, olives, sour creamer, beans... Yum. I've also gotten their fried oysters and fried prawns, which come with fries. They're good. Again, awesome spot for some solid munchies food.

The food is great and a lot for the money. You need to have patience one lady who take your order -she will rush you. And the waiting area is limited. It take -about 15 for your order it's -cooked fresh

I love this place for its steak and shrimp fries!! I always order the same thing I've been coming here since I was 17 and man it never gets old. I've been telling my bf about this place and how he needed to try it for himself and we finally went for him to try it out and he fell in love with it!! Every time I'm in Oakland I always think of this place and crave for its fries. Definitely something everyone should try out this place.

Ordered the steak and shrimp cheese fries through Postmates (because COVID) and delivery came super quick! Food was still warm too. Before you knew it, the box was empty lol

    CARNE ASADA FRIES WITH SHRIMP

ORDER// CARNE ASADA FRIES You can add shrimp or go the pollo route... but ONLY order that. I came hungry and ordered the chicken wings and fries. The owner chuckled at me. . I asked everyone in waiting what they ordered, and they said the same thing.... CARNE ASADA FRIES. The wings were gonna take 20 mins so I went down the street for a drink and asked if they'd been to L&S, and if so what'd they order.... CARNE ASADA FRIES! Went back to pick up my foods, polled the other people in line.... yup. CARNE ASADA FRIES!?! The owner called my order up and chuckled again... chicken wings. Suffice to say, wings were whatever and fries by themselves are forgettable. This pic is from my second visit months later. CARNE ASADA FRIES and (with sour cream).

Always wanted to try this place and finally got a chance to on a whim. Parking is metered street and isn't that hard to find. My first tip is to definitely order ahead of time. They seem to be always busy. Also there is like one table inside so basically plan for take out. Employees were friendly and courteous which was great. I ordered the chicken and shrimp cheese fries and my coworker ordered steak and shrimp tots and a burrito. Our order took about half an hour. Didn't mind because the fries were really good. They are also very generous on the portions and don't skimp on the shrimp lol. FYI coworker said pass on the burrito and just go for the fries. I will be definitely phoning in an order for pickup soon.

My 2nd and last time at this place! The thinnest paper thin pieces of basa I've ever seen and it was 13 bucks. I should've went elsewhere but I will never return hopefully your experience is better. Haven't tried the other food both times I had fish the first time I got the daily special with the wings and the chicken was not good so I came solely for the fish and won't be back. There are better options in Oakland with better prices that will actually give you fish fillets and meat this is mostly batter.

Great "Mom and Pop" shop! Good food with affordable price! Will come again when I'm in Oakland.

So I've been waiting to come here for soooo long. After salivating every time one of my coworkers spoke about this place, I finally bit the bullet today. It is really close to the glorious Lake Merritt in Oakland. Parking is really tight and is kind of in a sketch area. When you leave you car, make sure you hide anything (that's just a tip in general). As soon as you walk in, there is an extensive menu with everything they have ( various burritos, chicken, fish, and of course steak fries). They have a large poster that describes what a Tiger Shrimp is as well. For about $12 I had the steal and shrimp fries. The shrimp was plump and juicy and there was a well balanced amount of fries, steak etc. The owners Im assuming, were really nice. I saw on their menu you could customize your fries (curly fries, tater tots etc).

You can tell the owners are someones sweet little parents accustomed to catering to the taste of younger adults. This is one of my friends favorite go-to spot for lunch. We don't get much time to enjoy it, so I appreciate how service is always quick. They mainly do to go orders on behalf of the establishment being tiny, and them only having one seating table to which I think if only for waiting. Calling ahead is still recommended. Food is just random favorites: fried fish and chicken dinners, and anything quick smothered in cheese. It baffles me sometimes how the simplest things are the best. You can't go wrong when everything is deep fried or smothered in cheese! This little hole in the wall spot is most popular for their cheesy fries and seafood. Me personally I'm not a huge fan of the cheese and seafood. However, their chicken nachos with shrimp, and their tacos are two of my faves. definitely worth making exceptions for. Prices are very fair, especially for the portion sizes given, their portions are on the hefty side most of the time. It's the perfect recovery food for a hangover.

Chicken & bacon fries & I grabbed a few of my daughters shrimp. It was good but I think I'll stick to the steak it seems to be more fresh.
    Miss N.

They have the best loaded fries every. I normally get steak but can't wait to try the chicken (with bacon of course) lol They are always busy but they're service is fast.

Rosemary garlic lamb chops with red wine demi-glace over mashed potatoes was the standout, three chops cooked exactly right, the sauce was rich and not an afterthought. Ribeye with the aged spice rub was also solid, good char and came out the right temp. Cocktail program is legit for a hotel bar, terrace seating outside works well if the weather is good. Clean space, attentive service, easy parking. 5 stars, don't let the hotel lobby location fool you, this one earns it on the food alone

When we entered, I was taken aback to see a diner atmosphere. Not what I expected at all, but hey - give it a try. I had read some good reviews of the food. We sat down, and there was no waitstaff in view - only a couple of fellows at the bar, watching the World Cup game. When the waitress did appear, I ordered a salad with salmon, usually a reliable choice. The salad itself was fine, but the salmon was insanely salty. I couldn't eat it. Who puts that much salt on salmon? I do not recommend, except maybe that they change their name to Hegenberger Diner or something similar.

Anyone remember the Jack London Village that they tore down to build this end of the development? Anyways - this is a fast casual type spot, where you order from the counter, place the little number sign on your table and wait for it to be delivered. The menu is your standard seafood joint by the water type, with all the usual suspects represented. Fried fish, shrimp, chowder, seafood pastas--if you've ever been to a seaside seafood joint, chances are good that the menu here is exactly like the one you remember seeing at the countless other places like this one. I noticed right off the bat that their pricing structure was on the high side - with a $17 burger and fries option, with the bulk of the fried seafood options in the $22-25 range. A cheaper choice might be the $16 fish tacos (two of them) but I kind of draw the line at paying $8 for a single taco. Our table ordered a few of the fried options plus a few soda beverages. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and I noticed that the silver metal trays that the food comes on is a bit on the small side, especially considering the prices for each dish. The fried shrimp dish was a big scoop of mega-salty french fries, and 3 average sized deep fried shrimp. Yes - 3 as in 1, 2, 3. That's what - $7+ a shrimp? The two fried fish platters weren't much better portion-wise. My deep fried cod consisted of three modest sized fish-fingers, and not the single luscious chunk of perfectly fried cod I had imagined in my head when ordering. They were fine - but very average and nothing that stood out as life-changing or something to write home about. As mentioned earlier, they must be employing the Little Rascals method where they over salt everything, in hopes that you'll order another beverage to wash down the copious mounts of sodium (I figure about 4+ days worth). The fried catfish platter that rounded out our order was more of the same - thin meager portions of fish on a large bed of mega-salted fries. Small plastic containers of generic pre-made tartar sauce and coleslaw can with each platter. The coleslaw was fine - just very forgettable and perhaps a tad on the flavorless/watery side. All said, was it okay? Yes. Was it anything outstanding that I'd crave and plan my return to have again? No. It is in line with touristy by-the-Sea seafood places that charge an extra couple of bucks because they're "on the water"? Pretty much. You're paying for the view and the 'scene' of sitting on the patio out front to people watch, and not for the food. I kind of hate these places and normally try my best to stay away from them, but every once in awhile, you gotta put on your tourist hat and join the mindless flock. A meager 2 stars outta 5 from me. Instead, I'd stroll around this area on a Sunday when they hold the farmer's market (again - is not what it used to be) and then drive through the tube to Alameda where great dining spots are numerous on Park Street. You can stop at Crab Cove and Crown Beach on the way, for more touristy sightseeing.
