Our waitress, Angel, was very friendly with an outgoing, warm personality who was also very attentive giving us time to look over the menu. The complimentary soup of the day, navy bean soup today, was a welcome surprise. It was a good size portion and came chock full of tasty navy beans. The Roost Salad was exploding with grilled chicken, chopped apples, feta cheese, craisins and was served with a delicious citrus vinaigrette dressing. My only complaint about the salad was that the menu said glazed pecans were included but instead I was served walnuts. Under New Management they seem to be taking things away like I cannot get spring mix in my market salad anymore, it was a lot less hamburger in my cheeseburger wrap with a hard piece of lettuce that could not chew, a lot of things have been removed from the menu, just not the same anymore. Avocado is not available on anything and salmon has been removed also from the menu. The soup bar is also been removed not sure why all this had to change his restaurant ran perfectly the way it was. Lettuce is all stem. Over my rant, good restaurant, tighten your menu up. read more

I've been here twice now for breakfast. Excellent breakfast. First, this seems to be the only place that offers flavored creamers. They also have coffee syrups for iced coffee. I had the Peach Cobbler stuffed French toast. Two thick slices of French toast with cream cheese filling, peach topping, chopped pecans, and whipped cream. I wish it had more cream cheese filling so that there was some in every bite. So I will give it a 4.8/5. My mom had blueberry pancakes and sausage links. She brought on pancake home & we had it for breakfast. Their pancakes are thick & fluffy! A blueberry in every bite. The service was great. I love their uniform shirts. They have great phrases on the back. If they don't sell them to the public, they should. As with most of the restaurants in the area, they have cute signs and antique decor. Clean & comfortable. Plenty of parking. This will be my breakfast stop when visiting in the future. read more

This fine family operated emporium has been on my rotation for comfort food for many years. Visit here for breakfast or lunch and you'll walk out with a warm tummy and a smile on your face every time! Atmosphere- It's a big L-shaped space with tons of booths, 4-tops, and a few 2-tops. Everything is spotless. It's always busy and the acoustics are mediocre, but nobody cares as they chow down basic American style food. Adult libations- Nope, this is a dry spot. At one time they had wine and beer but as they don't serve dinner it was too much hassle for too little return for just the lunch crowd. Customer service- A bunch of ladies both young and old get it done. They take your order via a hand-held electronic device and, if you use a card, you pay the same way. It's very convenient and makes checking out a snap. Food- A giant laminated sheet with breakfast on one side and lunch on the other. I've posted a ton of pics so peruse them at your leisure. The most expensive stuff on the menu is about $10 bucks so you won't need to take out a second mortgage! Breakfast here is the bomb, especially the many omelets. I've had at least six different types and have always been satisfied. This visit, I was here for lunch, and I could choose from every type of burger, sandwich, and salads in addition to a bunch of entrees. Note that most entrees include serve-yourself unlimited home-made soup. On this visit it was broccoli cheese and I smiled with every spoonful! I went with Country-Fried Chicken @ $10. A batter-fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes covered in dark gravy and grilled onions with a veggie on the side. There were also pork and steak variations. It was bliss on a plate! Not necessarily healthy or low cholesterol but completely satisfying! They overcook their vegetable sides here, so I try to remember to order a side salad instead. This time I forgot. Went here for breakfast at the recommendation of new neighbors- and they were right, it was great ambiance combined with reliably good food. Pancakes were huge and thick, probably with some cornmeal involved (says the Brother-in-Law), so if this style of Southern pancakes aren't your thing, go with the Peach Cobbler French Toast! Had a taste of that (whipped cream!) and it was delightfully sweet! Coffee was the best I've had at a restaurant in a long time, definitely strong and flavorful! Alyssia took good care of us and was so patient with our extensive questions about the menu. Next time, the wife is getting Eggs Benedict - watch for that review! read more

Solid restaurant in the Frost Proof area. It;s right off of 27 and easy enough to get in and out of, although it does have a smaller parking lot and can get busy. When we arrived we were promptly greeted and seated quickly. It was busy right after church time and filling up quickly - so I recommend you get there right after or before most churches end times if it's a Sunday. The menu s short but has a lot to offer. I had the salmon, which included access to the sides and salad bar. The salmon was delicious and the salad bar has a lot of offerings. All entrees include the sides and salad bar, so you get plenty of food, especially for the price point. The restaurant has an older feel to it, and has tons of vintage style movie posters all the way around. I was unsure why the movie posters, but it was neat! Overall: A Gets super busy on weekends, so go on off times if possible. Otherwise solid restaurant! read more

This is a homey restaurant, a notch above a diner, with tables and booths. We have had breakfast here twice in the past week, including at 9am on Feb. 8. Probably the only Canadians in the place, judging by license plates. This restaurant on Hwy. 27 north of Avon Park is open only for breakfast and lunch now, and is often packed... families and seniors. the food is good and the service is friendly and efficient. Not fancy but nice enough (See my photo.) I had two eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns, and coffee, about $9. So, good value if not "super cheap". read more

Today was not good. Left me angry for hours. I ordered a Cuban w no mustard. It came out w no pork. She said they made a fresh one, but was out of pork. I said give me the premade one w pork and mustard. She said I'd have to pay for it. Ridiculous, really, why not tell me your out of pork and give me the option of ordering a premade one . Four Seasons is a GREAT restaurant! My husband and I have eaten here several times this winter. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. All 3 have been wonderful! We called on the roost when they were in limited operation during the coronavirus pandemic. We came from Bradenton to meet friends who came from Vero beach. This was a good midpoint. We ordered our lunches online and they were ready for us when we arrived at the requested time. We had the Reuben, the Cuban, the Grilled Chicken, and the Gyros. All were tasty and fresh. If they were this good during a pandemic, they are definitely worth a try under more normal conditions. read more

However, we came in as a first time visitor for lunch...the popcorn shrimp was tiny salad shrimp (I had more bread than shrimp) not really what I expected (I'd prefer larger shrimp and less quantity if it meant for a better meal. My husbands fish sandwich was mediocre at best. The salad bar was decent as was the side veggies (green beans in a brown or cabbage) soup wasn't the best...but can't have everything perfect I suppose! We will give this place another shot as we are close by, but maybe it's a better breakfast establishment then say lunch or dinner.
