The main improvement The Roost could make would be letting the GM, J. Suniga return to Burger King, or whatever fast food franchise from which they hired him. The next improvement would be training employees that when a customer makes a request to pay the bill, the answer is "Yes, I will take care of that." Instead I received, a snippy "Notify your server." My response, "No, I'm the customer, you're employed here. I just agreed to pay a ridiculous sum for a cocktail and an appetizer, so YOU find whoever needs to receive my payment!" Her feelings were hurt, so she played the "You-don't-need-to-speak-to-me-that-way" card. Eventually she recovered from the trauma and found an Official Roost Bartender to give me the bill. Mr. Suniga explained that he did not pay her to receive payments. As a solution, her "manager" advised I avoid The Roost in the future. Apparently, customers who want to pay are not welcome? Good advice for me and any other prospective customers!

Nice spot for dinner! Shared apps: cauliflower shishito peppers chicken and artichoke dip Overall, all good. Cauliflower stood out the most. I personally ordered the steak frites. Not as pleased with the entree. Mostly fries and not much meat. Would have gone for the short rib. Nice ambiance inside. Easy parking.

My family and I ate dinner at The Roost while visiting the area for a few days. Since we were traveling from out of state we made a reservation ahead of time - although on a Wednesday evening at 5pm, it wasn't super critical, as the restaurant never got completely full. There are multiple seating options - inside, patio, or rooftop. We opted for the rooftop and the vibes were excellent. The weather was gorgeous and the rooftop patio is nicely decorated with live plants and a big bar running the length of the patio. Our server was excellent. I think his name was Danny. One of our party has an alcohol intolerance, so needs to avoid foods cooked with alcohol. Danny was super helpful in guiding our menu options with this information. He confirmed multiple dishes with the chef before we ordered. For food, we started with the Truffle Parm Fries, Fried Brussels Sprouts, and the Bangin' Cauliflower. All were delicious. The cauliflower was extremely good, I can see why so many reviews mention it. For entrees, our group ordered the Short Rib Tacos, Jumbo Crab Cakes, Chilean Salmon, and the Avocado Salad with Seared Ahi. No complaints around the table. The meat in the Short Rib tacos is super tasty. Portions were good sized, however the Crab Cake dish is definitely smaller than the others. Good option if you aren't super hungry. The Chilean Salmon was cooked perfectly. We didn't really have any complaints at all. Solid dining experience. Would definitely return if I'm ever back in the Longmont area.

We decided to travel into Longmont to meet our cousin for dinner and this place came highly recommend The interior is gorgeous- love the greenery and bright lighting of the dining room. We were also offered bar seating or the enclosed patio- so there are many options. Based on others reviews, we needed to order the banging cauliflower- and it was excellent. Highly recommend. I ordered the Chilean salmon and it was HUGE so took half of it home for lunch tomorrow. Very tasty. Husband has the crab cakes- they were pretty thin but there were three of them. It would have been better with more lump crab- the sauce and sweet potatoes were tasty. Our cousin enjoyed her ahi tuna bowl. Service was excellent! laurel took great care of us. Parking can be tight - so give yourself some time to find a spot.

We love The Roost for all occasions! So great for a celebratory drink, quick appetizer, or full meal... all of our out of town visitors have loved the vibe, food, & cocktails. We really enjoy sitting on the rooftop when the weather is nice. Dominic is our favorite bartender and always takes great care of us. We will definitely be back in soon!

I visited The Roost on a Tuesday night, and it was a lively experience! Since we arrived before the dinner rush, we secured seats immediately. The decor blends modern style with charming country touches. The staff greeted us with friendliness. We started with delicious cauliflower bangers--kind of like tempura but with a heartier batter. I ordered the short ribs; the mashed potatoes were absolutely fantastic, and the grilled vegetables complemented them perfectly. However, the beef short ribs didn't quite live up to expectations--they weren't as tender as the kind that easily fall off the bone, and since these were boneless, they lacked that melt-in-your-mouth quality. The gravy was thicker than usual, adding a bold touch. Overall, it was a flavorful and enjoyable experience, definitely worth a return visit.

When we first came in on a Sunday afternoon around 3, the place was totally empty. Despite that, they said we could only sit at the bar or on the rooftop. I was a little irritated, as it was slightly breezy, but I got over that quick once I tried the food. We had the steak frites, the Thai pork tacos, an old fashioned, and the chocolate decadence for dessert. The steak frites were great- the truffle fries were seasoned with garlic, and served with a great cream sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked rare. Super tender. But the tacos absolutely stole the show. Sweet and spicy with a touch of crunch, and the potato fries were stellar too! The old fashioned really let the whiskey shine, with just a touch of citrus. I think I would try a different dessert though- the decadence was good but didn't quite live up to the tacos. The interior was decorated very cute- mid century modern mixed with plants and some neon signs that said cute things. Our server was excellent- very friendly and on top of it. Overall, I would unquestionably come back next time I am in the area, and suggest you go there too. It's totally worth it.

My wife and I sat at the bar and had an amazing time with food & drinks with Alyssa the bartender, which was awesome and Sarah the manager. The aesthetic, vibe, food & drinks were so damn good, if you are in downtown Longmont you need to come here. There is a huge indoor downstairs part of the restaurant with two huge rooftop areas. This will be a regular spot for us!

Another triple D restaurant and another success. Restaurant is very spacious with seating towards large front windows , upstairs seating and seating area in the back. Service is quick and friendly and the food is fantastic. Portions were perfect for lunchtime. Meals were very economical however the beer is a little pricy...but you don't have to order beer either.

Had an excellent green chili burger with fries. Our server was good and the ambiance is nice. It seems to be one of the more popular restaurants in town.

Do we need reservations on a Sunday night?

I would get a reservation, that spot gets busy fast!

Does The Roost have elevator access to the roof for handicapped people?

No - unfortunately, access to the rooftop patio at The Roost is by stairs only. They do have a lovely, open air back patio that doesn't require any stairs!

    Is there handicapped parking nearby?

There are handicapped slots in the parking lot behind the restaurant.

We were all shocked to see the change in the breakfast potatoes... the au gratin potatoes have always been delicious and so unique to anything else at any breakfast/brunch spot in town, so when the plates arrived with fried potatoes you can get anywhere else, it was disappointing. The same dish we have always gotten, the Monte Cristo, was lackluster today. When we mentioned the potatoes the response from our waiter was "yeah that's been a common complaint"... which makes it obvious that we weren't the only ones who have brought it up and asked about the change. The service was decent and the food was good, but none of it compared to what it has been in the past. Oddly enough it was also quite empty for a Sunday at 10AM when were used to seeing it packed in there. Perhaps others have noticed changes that are less than customer-centric? Why make such a change to a staple item which then makes the meal no different than what I can find elsewhere for less money? Sadly it make not make the list next year when company is back in town when it's typically been their request.

We were seated promptly upon arrival although did wait a bit for a server to appear. We arrived at the tail end of happy hour so that was nice. Happy hour is available at any table in the restaurant. We ordered appetizers of smoked trout dip and baked scallops. Both were tasty. Main courses were duck and fresh catch of the day which was trout. The trout and the veggies served with it were delicious. Whipped parsnips, roasted carrots, snap peas and spinach topped with a nice filet of trout. This place is small but very cute on the inside. Make sure to notice the ceiling fan. They have a large outdoor patio too.

Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. The service was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We waited about 20 minutes just for drinks and eventually had to go up to the bar ourselves. When we asked about it, the bartender simply said, "I'm working on it," which was frustrating given how long we had already been waiting. There were 4 tales in the restaurant and like 8 employees Things did not improve from there. Our food came out very slowly and one of the meals had to be sent back. We ended up having to go to the bar multiple times, including for a to go box and even to get our check, because no one was checking on our table. To make matters worse, the menu states that guests are asked to limit their visit to 90 minutes. However, due to the slow and inattentive service, we were there for nearly two hours through no fault of our own. There also used to be a sense of customer service here, which seems to have changed. To top it off, gratuity was automatically added without it being mentioned or explained. That felt especially inappropriate considering we ended up doing a large portion of the service ourselves. It's like they figured they were getting auti gratuity so didn't provide any service Really disappointing experience overall. Not sure what changed, but this was a huge step down from our previous visit.
