For most small towns, you're stuck with whatever coffee shop they have, but this place was one of the exceptions. They have homemade English muffins for breakfast sandwiches (I got cheddar bacon) and it was fantastic (perfectly toasted, bacon just right, etc). A lovely little place with helpful and friendly staff. They make all of their pastries in house (sans the croissants), and I was incredibly impressed by their bagels. I had a breakfast sandwich that was fresh and tasty and their espresso was on point. Their large menu makes The Roost a great spot for the entire family. We will certainly be back! read more

Love the view, love the food, love the staff. We come here for coffee and breakfast every time we visit the area. The staff is so nice, sweet and helpful. They recommend fun things to do and are really embracing. The coffee is great and you can sip a cup with the best view of the mountains and the bay. The soup was really good. The sandwich was fine but when restaurants use Dave's bread I'm disappointed. Wheeler is a cool little town and this is a nice place to eat. The people are very nice. Again, I'm being over-picky but when I go out to eat I don't want something I can make at home and while I like Dave's Bread, it's not special. read more

They have delicious breakfast sandwiches for $5 and the chai was good. I also had a strawberry scone that was fresh + delicious. We snagged breakfast to fuel a few hours of work and despite the wifi being pretty slow, it was a great temporary office for the morning. Also great views of the water! read more

While visiting the area we were looking for a nice local place to have a great latte. This place had good reviews on yelp but I'm guessing that none of the people writing those had the coffee. The atmosphere was very charming and I had high hopes that this little place with the adorable chicken decor was going to wow me with their delicious caramel latte.... but I was wrong. The latte was bitter and burnt tasting. My husband threw his bitter bean latte away as well. So if you're looking for a local place that oozes with charm and local hospitality I would recommend visiting here. Just don't drink the coffee ! read more

I have been to The Roost twice, and both experiences were exceptional. The first time I ordered a chai and a breakfast sandwich with bacon and pepper jack. The sandwich was particularly delicious, due in no small part to the fluffy English-style muffin, which was made in-house. I enjoyed my breakfast at one of the tables. The atmosphere was very comfortable, unpretentious, and rooster-y. A couple days later I stopped in on my way down to Tillamook. I got another chai, and an almond croissant. The croissant made my day. It was incredibly good. I wished I had bought every last one. I am looking forward to trying more of their fresh baked goods (both times I went in they had a sizable selection of muffins and cupcakes, scones, some type of tea cake, cookies, etc.). They also have soup and a few sandwiches. Yay! My new favorite place. read more

I was so delighted to find this place along the highway, a little hard to find at first but definitely worth the extra minute or so to find it on the corner. Anyways, I was exceptionally delighted to find a lovely nice lady behind the counter with a smile and full of vivacious spirit, something that spiced up what's about to be another 6 hours on the road. Coffee came out in a timely manner, and I'm waiting for my breakfast burrito as we speak but I just wanted to write this review now because of just how lovely this place is, definitely a good place to go for a great experience in a cute little classical yet trendy coffee and breakfast stop, didn't get a chance to stay for lunch but I'm sure it's just as good! read more
