    Biscuits and gravy combo
    Jerry F.

Had the biscuits and gravy combo meal. Sausage patty was decent, eggs were spot on. However the gravy was not for me. Some may like it, just not my style. I like a traditional sausage gravy. My wife had the chili and the broasted chicken. She enjoyed her meal. She also had a margarita which she thoroughly enjoyed. Will be going back and trying more items. Service was good. It was pretty slow when we showed up but it seems like a place that could have a lot of fun in the bar area.

Thank you Heaven, Matilda and her family for being so kind and helpful during our visit. It wasnt under the best circumstances of why we were hanging out at Elderberry Inn but I cannot express how grateful we are for meeting this lovely family. Service was great! Heaven was our waitress and was very patient and helpful. We ordered club sandwich, french roast dip, chicken tenders, cheeseburger and their clam chowder. Food was good and made fresh to order. If you're ever passing through make sure you stop by and grab a bite.

Yes highly recommended and great breakfast and it's huge to eat! Also nice place to eat and quiet with great view to see big foot and stores next store

Ham, scrambled eggs, tasty hash browns (but on the greasy side) and fabulous homemade biscuit.

Great breakfast spot! Huge homemade biscuits and they cut in half and grill it! Perfect scrambled eggs and nice slice of ham. OJ was good too!

    Broasted chicken

I grew up in Portland so I would come here as a kid on beach trips. I just visited from NYC, and came here. I was coming just for the old fashion environment and expecting regular mid diner fair. I went once on the way to beach and twice in wya back( we staying at the inn) everything we got was delicious pulled pork..broasted chicken..corned beef hash. On top of that Everybody we encountered the servers, the new chef and management all so friendly and hospitable. The food quality was better than standard diner food. I wish I could go back soon!

    Special sandwich!

The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the whole experience was wonderful. I loved the atmosphere there. Everyone was friendly and attentive to all our needs. I was very happy with our waitress, as I tend to drink a lot of water, and she was always right there to fill my glass when it was empty. After we finished our lunch, we went into your gift shop. Oh, my goodness, there were so many awesome things to choose from. I purchased an adorable calico kitty stuffed animal. She was so soft and huggable. Sadly, somewhere between there and home, I lost her. I went on your website to purchase another one to replace it and could not order from the website. that was the ONLY downfall I found with this place. I recommend everyone to eat here on your way to or from the beach. We will certainly be back for more food and souvenirs! Thank you again for the amazing service we received. Mr. & Mrs. Scott Fuge

Beware of location/directions!…read more This restaurant is in Seaside.. or is it??? It shares a zip code with Seaside but you will drive a very long and windy road to get to this restaurant and it was like an hour aways from the Seaside that we know to be by the sea. The food was ok, the service was friendly and the restaurant was a big, cozy cabin. If you are driving by, cool, go in. But if you are near Seaside by the sea, then double check your distance before making the trek to this restaurant for mediocre food.

I've been there many times, and I've never had a bad meal. And if you had a problem, they would quickly resolve it. It's owned by the hardest-working woman I've ever met. She is always there to greet you with a warm and welcoming smile. I believe she started as a waitress. Then she bought the business, and now she also owns the building. I adore the sometimes-available lemon waffle, though in winter I really like the gingerbread one. I don't eat eggs Benedict, but my friends always love them. Love their lattes, and I am a coffee snob! Their scones are to die for. So take a couple home with you. The only downside is that it's terribly popular, so you will have to wait outside. It's very tight quarters. So if you're claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. They only take cash, but there's a cash machine across the street. I think they're always Open, which is amazing to me. If I'm really being picky, I wish she would update the interior and offer pagers so I could walk around.

That's why I've decided to stop hurting myself and go to the Chalkboard Cafe instead. The difference in quality of ingredients and cooking is apparent in the first bite. It really is a bit jarring. This restaurant makes everything from scratch, and I mean everything. Yesterday my son and I got two burgers and our potato salad and coleslaw sides were like sides my mother would make in her kitchen, not globs of shelf stable Reser's food-paste that were made two states over a month ago and sprayed with mortuary chemicals to stop their decay. The food at the Chalkboard is real food, not fake food, which brings me to my next point, dietary restrictions. If I had any dietary restrictions whatsoever, gluten sensitivity in particular, this would be where I would go for breakfast or lunch in Seaside. Chalkboard has gluten free biscuits and gravy available, delicious GF naan bread made by hand, and gluten free versions of popular bakery goods made in their small kitchen from scratch. Even if you don't have restrictions you can be assured that your meal will have 80% less total ingredients just based on the restaurant's ethics alone. They aren't taking shortcuts, they aren't bringing junk into the building in the first place, so junk never ends up on your plate. The service is stellar, the ambiance is charming and clean. You're out of excuses. You were wondering where you should go to eat, and now you know. Go to the restaurant where the locals take their own families - the Chalkboard Cafe.

I'll start with the positive: The French Toast is probably the best I've ever had! My wife ordered the French Toast, and after I tried a bite of hers, I ordered a piece. All of the ingredients were fresh; but the prices are a little higher than they ought to be. I ordered the Biscuits and Groovy. Biscuits is plural in the name. If there were 2 biscuits, they were tiny. If there was only 1 biscuit, maybe rename the item Biscuit & Groovy. In either case, there wasn't a lot of gravy. The wait wasn't bad. 30 minutes for a table for 2 on a Sunday in February. Can't imagine the wait in the Spring or Summer. We ordered 3 cocktails. Total for all three was $41. These were easily the most expensive 'mocktails' ever. None of them seemed to have much liquor. You aren't going to get lit at Yolk. All in all, 3.5 stars. But I wouldn't go back. And I definitely wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes to dine at Yolk.
