I decided to try this place today and I'm so glad I did! Everything about this place is spectacular! I had the Not Your Papa's Plate with scrambled eggs and bacon. My wisely chosen sides were Dressed Greens and Fruit. The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The greens and fruit were fresh and delightful. It was a terrific breakfast. One of my best ever. Service was great and the space is bright and cozy. They have plenty of tables as well as a wrap around bar and a small chef's counter to eat at. This place was called Yolk when we had brunch here a couple months back. They do not take reservations, we got there before they opened and there was a line already. We were the first group that didn't get seated when they opened and meant a 45 min wait. We were seated about 50 mins later. It was worth the wait. By the time we left, we were told the wait was more than 2 hours. We got French Toast with side of eggs, Florentine, and Lemon Ricotta pancake. I'll start with the positive: The French Toast is probably the best I've ever had! My wife ordered the French Toast, and after I tried a bite of hers, I ordered a piece. All of the ingredients were fresh; but the prices are a little higher than they ought to be. I ordered the Biscuits and Groovy. Biscuits is plural in the name. If there were 2 biscuits, they were tiny. If there was only 1 biscuit, maybe rename the item Biscuit & Groovy. In either case, there wasn't a lot of gravy. The wait wasn't bad. 30 minutes for a table for 2 on a Sunday in February. Can't imagine the wait in the Spring or Summer. We ordered 3 cocktails. Total for all three was $41. These were easily the most expensive 'mocktails' ever. None of them seemed to have much liquor. You aren't going to get lit at Yolk. All in all, 3.5 stars. But I wouldn't go back. And I definitely wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes to dine at Yolk. read more

I don't remember ever wanting to give SIX STARS to a business in all my years on Yelp, but here we are. The first time. Poach 503 might be my favorite breakfast place, ever. I just wish it was closer to Portland where I live. I'll just have to make sure that if I'm anywhere on the Oregon coast, that I come here to eat! First of all, French toast usually sucks at a restaurant. It's usually drippy and gloppy. The French toast here at Poach 503, is simply perfect. It's the right bread, the right amount of egg, with a crispy sugar crust. Simply divine. And everything else is absolutely delicious, from the eggs to the cocktails to the biscuits and gravy. Arrived at 9:45 to a 30 minute wait. When we did get seated, it still took about 10 minutes to get any coffee and service. By the time they were ready to take our orders no one had explained the specials, what they were or how much they cost. But given the wait up to then, we ordered off the menu. I got pork and eggs and my wife had the rancheros. My food was not good. The sunny side up eggs were overcooked on the bottom of the whites, the potatoes were way over-seasoned, and the pork was bland -- it needed hot sauce to have any flavor. Even the side of English muffin was over-toasted. For me, the only good thing was the coffee. My wife, on the other hand, enjoyed her rancheros. This was not worth the wait and it was way overpriced. We had an amazing experience at Poach 503! While we were waiting for our table, a beautiful woman offered us coffee. When our seats were ready, Leah took our order and then we watched her create the most intricate cocktails. Leah told us about the Oregon Coast as it was our first day here. We needed a good breakfast after a long weekend at the coast. Yolk offers just that, a delicious and fresh home-cooked brunch! We were excited to try what they had to offer. They get EXTREMELY busy. We waited over an hour for a table and were offered bar seating at around an hour wait. Normally we are fine with bar seating, however, the bar seats that they have are small wooden round seats with no backs - we just would not have been comfortable with that seating. The food came out quickly and was delicious, you can really taste that it's homemade! A bit on the pricier side ($5 for a small gravy), but I would go back especially with the limited offering at the coast. read more

By far the best Cubano I've ever eaten. The deviled egg avocado toast was incredible. My daughters had the biscuits and gravy and the Antionio ranchero and both were delicious. Barely made it but glad we did, the hostess was so friendly, the service was quick, and the brunch was great. We started with lattes from Manzanita News and Espresso across the street (that's another recommendation) which we drank while waiting and were allowed to bring in. Our server was very patient with us since it was our first visit. I finally decided on the special scramble of the day, and my wife had one slice of French toast and their house made fennel sausage. A nice, bright cafe to start your morning in Manzanita. Corned beef hash: 2.5/5 This was very corned beef-forward, which was unfortunately kind of dry and surprisingly not salty at all. I never add salt to my food at restaurants, and this dish was strangely bland. There were not very many potatoes either. Country scramble: 4/5 a standard scramble. The eggs were soft and light, the side potatoes were crisp and flavorful, and the biscuit had a nice tender crumb and the jam was fresh and yummy. French custard toast: 5/5 deliciously crispy crust and tender inside. Sweetness is controllable with maple syrup. Service is friendly, and food comes out fast. read more

My wife and I really loved this place for brunch! Building is really cute on the inside, and when you go, see if you can name all the dolls hanging from the bar area! All the staff were very friendly and it was cool seeing their interactions with not only the out of towners like ourselves, but with their local "regular" customers. Everything about our Yolk experience checked the happy boxes. We came in for a Monday early lunch right before the Summer season was starting, yet it was hopping at Yolk. We had a short wait since we declined bar seating, and Yolk has some comfy padded benches to take in the environment. The vibe is eclectic and fun, some of my favorite 80's music played just loud enough. We were brought some menus to look at while we waited. When we were seated, our server correctly assumed we would know our order. We are more mocktail folks, and the Spouse's Virgin Mary was delicious, I kept stealing sips. It also had a yummy garnish of cheese, salami, pickled veg and olive. I ordered the Veggie Hash without eggs and added a side of their braised kale for extra veggie fortification. It came with a pice of local sourdough toast (or biscuit, English muffin or fruit). This was the perfect antidote to the other beach weekend eating I had been doing! Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Manzanita feels less touristy than other parts of the coast, and a lot of locals seemed to be greeted by name at Yolk. I try to avoid rating restaurants on service, which can vary, but our experience here was great. We were prepared for the wait, signed in 6th in line, went for a walk for 20 minutes and came back to a short wait. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, prompt, and made great recommendations. Orange juice tasted fresh and not sugary. Coffee was wonderful. Believe or not we came all the way here from Gearhart riding the atMospheric river. Torrential rains didn't keep us away from this breakfast feast. The rain helped tamper down the crowds so our wait was about 15 minutes. Just enough time to peruse the specials listed in the wall. Yolk has been around a long time and it shows. By that I mean it is a well groomed humming brunch machine. No reservations as this place doesn't need them. I think there is outdoor and patio seating but that was a definite no go today.. Considering" how busy they were, and I mean busseling, the staff was friendly and professional. Very quick to serve us and the order cam up li Kitty spit. My friend and I shared the lemon pancakes Infused with marionberries and topped with a light dusting of powder sugar with a warm maple syrup accompanying them. We also shared the huevos rancheros with chorizo added. Crazy savory. Excellent choices without too huge a serving which you usually get at brunch.
