I asked for layers and I'm so grateful she DID NOT LISTEN TO ME :) because I can't imagine how disgusting it would've been if probably be better shaving my head bald. I asked for bangs and she cut about 20 hairs to make the beautiful waterfall bangs I asked for. Her name is ALLISON. She seems to have no experience or common sense at all? I have no education in hair and I know when something is CLEARLY WRONG. I'm not confrontational and thought maybe I was just seeing everything wrong but I came home and it was indeed worse than I could imagine. She insisted on curling my hair too now I know why it's harder to see how shitty of a hairstylist you are when your hair is curly! Absolutely horrible. The first time the stylist FRIED my hair with bleach and I was stuck in the studio for 7hours while she did at least 6 other heads of hair. Yesterday morning I called and asked for an ASAP sew-in appointment and was told by the owner, Neesheka, 5pm was the only time, to which I agreed. After several scheduling calls, the situation escalated when Neesheka, called again at 2:29 to demand that I drop what I was doing and come in at 2:30, instead of 5pm like I was originally scheduled. I wasn't able to make it at that time, to which Neesheka verbally harassed me saying that I could either come immediately or not be styled at the 5pm appointment because she was "holding the store open for me". I said that was never my intention and asked why she would offer me the 5pm to begin with and also if there were any times that reflected the work I wanted done. She snapped at me and said since I wasn't satisfied I should just not come in at 5pm or at all... this weekend or ever again. I explained that I wasn't arguing, but I was confused about the appointment time and subsequent style. I still needed the appointment because I'm getting married and she begrudgingly booked me for an 8am appointment today, very clearly quoting me "$150" (I know this because she spelled it out like I am an idiot '1-5-0.'). I arrived at 8am with the hair detangled, separated by wafts and washed. I then had to wait 20minutes for my stylist to arrive. I received a SEW-IN NO STYLE THAT TOOK 1.5HOURS, and a LEAVE OUT INSTEAD OF A CLOSURE. Regardless, I accepted the style without complaint, thanked the staff and proceeded to the front. Upon check out, I saw the stylist quoted me $180 for the service. I politely asked the owner about the difference in price, explaining I had expected the $150 originally quoted, she snapped at me YET AGAIN. This time Neesheka loudly proclaimed that I was "HAGGLING, and DIDN'T have the THIRTY DOLLARS", it was my "FAULT FOR NOT ASKING THE STYLIST THE PRICE BEFORE" and she "OPENED EARLY FOR ME" (the appointment time she offered) and so I "SHOULD JUST NEVER COME BACK". This owner is extremely unprofessional, and made a scene in front of at least 20 people, causing me to TEAR UP. Neesheka called me 5 times yesterday to set up an appointment, clearly showing that she didn't have a handle on the situation and then grew irritated that I wasn't able to accept half a service or come in at the drop of a hat. During this interaction she treated me, the customer, with such disrespect that even her HUSBAND looked ashamed of the behavior, repeatedly stepping in- an attempt to deescalate her lack of respect and aggressive communication. I had already planned on not returning after my hair was fried to a crisp, only coming in today due to the availability, but the behavior of the owner(s) solidified that I will never return. Neesheka's ghetto attitude, quickness to grow loud, and inability to properly schedule is detrimental reflection on both her business and character. !!WORST SALON I'VE BEEN TO IN QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM!!

Finding a good salon is like dating. I've had to go through several mediocre experiences (or "bad…read moredates") to find the right place and the right stylist - but finally, I found my match. Salon 6 is just north of the main Broad Ripple village off of College Ave. My favorite thing about this salon (other than the haircuts I get) is the overall atmosphere. It has a small boutique vibe that is relaxed and unpretentious. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and offer you a drink of choice while you wait. The waiting area has a little bit of a New Age feel with some beautiful stones and crystals and local artisan jewelry. It immediately feels very relaxing. They have a few complementary add on services you can choose from, and I especially enjoy the Vitamin D lamp in the winter when I'm missing the sunshine. My stylist, Heidi, has given me some of the best haircuts I've ever had, hands down. When I booked my first appointment with her she took the time to talk about what I wanted and ask me questions. After allowing my hair to grow for a couple years and really doing nothing with it, I was looking for a "long shag" cut which I had asked for from other stylists at other salons that never seemed to turn out the way I envisioned it. Lucky for me, Heidi is spectacular at shag cuts and also specializes in razor cuts, which can be difficult to find. I told her I was ready for a change and to go for it and the results were even better than what I had in mind. Since then I've received multiple compliments on my cuts with an added comment "that's the kind of cut I've been wanting and I can't find someone to do it right!" My visits are always pleasant and relaxing. I never feel pressured to chat or make small talk, but when we do it's easy and laid back. I always leave with a fresh cut and style that makes me feel like I just treated myself to something luxurious without the feeling of a stuffy, ostentatious "luxury" salon where everyone leaves with basically the same haircut, color, extensions, etc. Salon 6 not only meets what I'm looking for in a salon experience, but Heidi takes it to the next level with her killer haircuts.

During my color appointment, I repeatedly told my stylist that my scalp was itching, tingling, and becoming increasingly uncomfortable while the color was processing. These are common warning signs of irritation or a chemical reaction. Despite informing her, the color remained on my scalp. When I got home, it became clear that my scalp had been burned. The reaction was severe enough to trigger an inflammatory flare-up. No client should leave a salon with a chemical burn after expressing concerns during the service. What truly turned a bad experience into an unacceptable one was not just the casual attitude of my stylist, but later on in a separate incident, the salon's treatment towards me. When I expressed my grievance to them, first to the receptionists, then escalating to management, my concerns were largely dismissed. There was no meaningful acknowledgment, no genuine concern for my well-being, and no effort to take responsibility for what occurred. In addition, my interactions with the front desk were consistently rude and condescending. The black girl was the worst offender. Rather than feeling like a valued customer whose health and safety mattered, I felt as though I was being treated as an inconvenience for reporting a legitimate issue. Mistakes can happen in any business. What separates a reputable salon from a poor one is how it responds when something goes wrong. I feel like it's an Indianapolis staple because everyone referred me to them when I moved here haha. They do a great job & I'm usually in and out. I'm natural and they haven't damaged my curl pattern considering the amount of heat they use. My silk press will usually last a few weeks as well. They've made some changes! You can now book an appointment and they've renovated recently (2 weeks ago). It looks great with the upgrades. Of course with the renovation came price increases! A silk press used to be $50-60 now it's a flat $85, which still isn't bad.

I decided to treat myself to have someone else do my hair and honestly trust someone. so I scheduled for theses services: retouch semipermanent color for my grays and a wash a blow dry then flat iron basic services and I wanted to see my hair finally straight so I go in and Minoska starts parting my hair applying the color then after 45ish minutes or more of the color on my hair she rinses it off the usual wash and conditioner at least thats what I thought she continues to dry it and then flat iron all good I paid with tip a total of $193.95. Now a week later I had to wash my hair at home as I was washing it it felt limp and thin so I put conditioner then I started detangling it and noticed strands of hair falling off on the comb I was startled but once I took a better look and assessed my hair it was limp no curls and most alarming breakage in the front and on the sides as well. So I call the salon and I get a manager on the phone I explained my concerns and that I needed to speak to Evelyn the owner we are now in 2026 and I have yet to hear from her. My takeaway from this horrible experience is hair nor curls or texture breaks or changes with plain shampoo and conditioner this stylist put some chemical either directly on my hair or in the products she either didn't want to have to struggle detangling my hair so she comprised my hair to these chemicals and evelyn is lucky I didn't report her salon to Indiana board of cosmetology as a business owner she clearly avoided at all cost to contact me. So whatever social media her salon continues to be on I will continue giving bad reviews. I know I'm not the ONLY customer that this has happened to I just decided to speak on it. The owner was the nicest gal. Then it got rough. What nail salon doesn't have the correct tools to remove Gel polish these days? It took her 40 minutes just to get my old polish off. She didn't trim my cuticles at all. I do keep my nails tidy but they can always use some touch ups. Then the new polish job is chunky, splotchy and looks horrible. She sent me packing with a steep bill and not even a moisturizer on my hands to counteract all that drying Acetone. They even still felt sticky and a little gooey when I left. Maybe because the ultra violet light was so weak that I had to put my nails in 4 times between coats? Sorry for the not so great review but you may need glasses and a new bottle of polish??? What salon doesn't have Bubble Bath for a color option? I had to go pink and now I need to pay a different salon 50$ for a color change and repaint.
