I always enjoy myself when I visit The Rustic. The outdoor patio is very spacious, with plenty of seating and a stage for bands. The prices here are very reasonable for the quality of the food. I also really enjoy that you can page your server from your table using a button. The drinks are also great here. The have a large beer selection and creative cocktails. The Moscow mule and the frozen margaritas were particularly delicious. The desserts are to die for, especially the banana pudding. Make sure you share it though or you'll go into sugar overload. read more

Heard about this place several times over the years. Always about their brunch and how great it was. My family and I finally decided to give it a try. We showed up on a Saturday at 11 am. Service - We were seated right away. Now they were crowded but because we were willing to sit inside we were seated right away. I will said the outside patio looked amazing but was full already and we didn't want to wait. If I return and the weather is nice I'd wait to sit outside. Now here's where things took a slight turn. We were seated for 11 minutes and not one person stopped by our table. Now I understand being busy, but would have expected that someone at least stop by to say something. We had to ask 2 separate people before our server arrived. While our server was nice she was what I assume was overwhelmed because she forgot items and just forgot to check on us. We also received a cup of coffee full of coffee grains :( Food - we ordered the family style brunch. This food is the ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars. It was really tasty. The only thing I would say is that I wish the portions were a little bigger. You get one of each item listed. The French toast, sausage, and Nashville hot chicken were my favs. Overall it was not a bad experience and I'd come back to try out something else on the menu. read more

You can push a button to call your server. Cons: 3 of us ordered the $17.95/each family style breakfast. It contains 1 of each item ie. 1 blackberry each, 1 piece of bacon each, 1 donut hole each, 1 piece of cheese and cracker each, etc. (I'm not exaggerating....) which means very small portions of most items. The portion sizes of the fried chicken and quiche were good, but we did not care for the quiche or sausage and were still hungry due to the small portion sizes of most of it. I would only order this for a large group that includes some vegetarians who won't be eating their chicken or 1 piece of bacon. Next time, I'll just order an entree off the menu. read more

I came here for my birthday with my best friend. We ordered the smoked brisket Joe Leo tacos. The tacos were phenomenal! Bacon fat tortillas are such a game changer. I highly recommend that. We love sitting at the bar, the bartender gave the greatest service! I truly enjoy going when they have live music, it creates such a great atmosphere. I can't wait to go again. 2 hours to get a burger and fries. Went there tonight with my coworkers. I made a reservation for the 5 of us. We arrived and they did not have a table for us. They asked if we would be ok sitting outside, and at first we were fine with it. Then it started to rain. I asked our server if we could move to a table inside she told me inside tables were for people with reservations. I told her we did have a reservation. We obviously weren't going to just sit outside in the rain. I then went back to the front of the restaurant and asked them if we could take one of the several empty booths. I'm not sure what I was told exactly but it was along the lines of "if you really want to come inside and you can find a table, then fine". Did I mention it was raining and by this point of time there was lightning and thunder. We then sit in a booth. It was obvious that the waitress that was manning that section didn't want us moving there. Somehow we ended up with our original waitress. They brought our food, but it wasn't ours. I'm not sure if our order was placed. Our waitress came back several times to tell us that our food would be coming out soon. Our reservation was for 7:15pm. We didn't get our meals until close to 9pm. I think everyone's meals were okay, but the fries were cold. When we got to the restaurant, we were looking forward to dessert, but the entire experience was exhausting. We received our bills and they were all wrong. Then their machine would not accept our credit cards because they take a pin. This will go down as the worst restaurant experience ever. Which is sad. We're from out of town and ate here last year and it was wonderful. We made an effort to eat there again because last year it was excellent. Maybe it was just a bad day, or a bad server, but I don't think I'll come back next year when I'm in town. read more

A really memorable night at the Rustic on a busy Friday night and fabulous live music. We were lucky to grab a table for 20 people outside near the band. Our servers James and Kiki were terrific! Everything we tasted at our table was so delicious, like a home cooked meal. I had the "drunk chick," their version of beer can chicken with jalapeno corn bread. Others at our table had the rib eye, which tasted phenomenal, like many steaks in Dallas! And the dessert?! Out of this world, mile high peanut butter sour cream pie with chocolate ganache crust, fudge drizzled over the top and salted caramel peanuts. James was a standout for me. He was super cool and even made me a hot towel rose with lemon to clean my hands with! He was reminiscent of a server that you'd see working in the finest 5-star restaurant. Thank you James! The name says it all; trendy but rustic decor - just like half of the uptown eateries. Vaguely western vibe, and most music is C&W, but not in a bad touristy way. Menu items are interesting, but the appetizers really shine! We enjoy ordering several appetizers instead of entrees; we just share and mix! Ladt night; the shrimp cocktail, double-queso w hand-cut chips, and the mixed tamale samplers - all of it was fantastic! The smores dessert is rich &!outstanding, but also try the banana pudding!! Good assortment of house-mix cocktails and beers, and the weekday happy hour is short but good. Super crowded on concert nights, but hey - to be expected. Valet park if you can. My friends and I wanted to have some brunch in uptown and the Rustic did not disappoint! We arrived at 11 AM on a Sunday and were able to be seated immediately as a party of 4. We all opted for the brunch, which is essentially just a huge family-style spread at $18 a person. This was definitely a unique brunch experience, as we got to experience lots of different flavors. The good: the food! We started with a carafe of mimosas. I love that they bring you the champagne and OJ separately so you can make it as strong as you like. Then it was a short wait before everything showed up at once (awesome because we were all hungry). As someone who doesn't eat pork I wasnt able to have the sausage, bacon or grits but everything else was more than adequate. The country eggs were probably my favorite, and im not a huge egg fan! I also really liked the fried bread - it had a great rosemary flavor. The Nashville hot chicken had a little heat, so it paired well with everything else. The donuts were also a nice treat at the end! The not so good: loud and service Once the Cowboys game started, they cranked up the volume so loud to the point that we werent able to talk. It would be great if it was at least lower, if not off. I get it, this place is supposed to be part bar, part live music and part brunch so it is supposed to be loud. But not to the point where you cant hear yourself think. I would also add that the service was a little inattentive. The place is huge so I understand to a degree, but I wish our waiter came by a few more times or was easier to flag down. All in all, this is a great weekend brunch option for a group! read more

The Rustic where do I began on Saturday January 25th 2025, we had a reservation for 7:30pm Confirmation #20503. We arrived around 7:00pm we knew we would have to wait because our reservation wasn't until 7:30pm and we didn't have a problem with waiting. Keep in mind this reservation was made months in advance, Paul even went to the restaurant ahead of time to drop off his cake for his milestone Birthday Dinner, only to be told we have everything arranged and will be ready when you and your party arrive. Around 7:40-7:45 pm the hosties told us the table is ready and we can be seated now, only to be setup for outside on two picnic tables for 20 people, we asked could they assist us with turning on the outside heaters near the table only to be told do it yourself, (we thought our table was ready with a waiter/waitress) a very nice busboy assisted us with our heater he had to replace the propane gas for our heater to work. We then asked for two more tables so our guest could sit comfortably and unfortunately it never happened. We pulled two additional tables and another heater to our area ourselves. Still waiting for a waiter/waitress to bring water by this time it is after 8:00pm only for us to see a party be seating in their area to receive water and two waiter/waitress, by this time we asked to speak to the manager on duty Mrs./Ms. Olivia stated the party that was just seated had paid in advance and that is the reason why they have been seated with a waiter/waitress and water. The question was asked so just because they paid in advance we have to wait for a waiter/waitress to be assigned to our table. As a manager if you are telling a party that their table is ready wouldn't that mean we have been assigned a waiter/waitress? As a manger you would think you would schedule more waiter/waitress due to so many parties on a busy Saturday. Olivia said we will just have to wait. We will have to wait longer than what we already have been, was it lack of staff or was it a discrimination like I stated we were not the "Black Party that had to be seated outside, and wait to be seated with a waiter/waitress. The other party sat themselves. So, we decided to leave. We will never be back. read more

Would recommend for good vibes: modern interior and sports on tv. I'm sure the lunch/dinner is great. The service was great! Besides waiting 30 minutes on each side of the meal for the food and the checks, respectively. The brunch? Not so much. Only 1 brunch option available: the "family style" mosh posh of random breads, meats, and greens. They counted out each portion to exactly match how many people at our table paid to play (~$20 each). For example, we had 4 people pay for this, and on the "fruit platter," there were exactly 4 blackberries, and 2 strawberries cut in half. 4 slices of bacon. Etc. But the French toast... No - it was the syrup. They bake the French toast and heat the syrup with an entire branch of rosemary (???!) in the mix. It tasted like pine sol. I could remove barnacles off the hull of a boat with that syrup. We had a few waiters/waitresses come by and try it, and they insisted that most people must enjoy it as their faces puckered up and their eyes started watering. They did bring out an entire mountain of chocolate mousse cake because it was our first time here, which was pretty baller. read more

Ppl inside are sweating, the MOD, Eric refuses to close the door. Although I understand this is an outdoor/indoor venue, he made it crystal clear they do not care about customers. We went to the Rustic this Saturday to celebrate a late Father's Day for my father in law. After we were seated, my husband found his stool was very wobbly, so he tried to switch the one near the bar, which has no one sat on or near it. Then a waitress stoped him with some unpleasant attitude saying that we cannot move/switch the stool. Then the waitress just walked away. So all the stools in this restaurant are the same, same height and some color. Anyways, we waited for another waitress and asked her if she could help us to change a stool for us. She said you cannot switch it and saying they're all wobbly....this makes no sense . If they are all bad in the same way, why keep them for the customers and why they can't be switched. Later, an nice lady sat next to our table kindly offered her extra stool for us to switch. And after that, one of the waitresses came to our table again, told us again that we cannot switch the stool. We explained it's just the one next to our table, and the lady sat there said it's ok. Other than that ridiculous drama, the food was fine, and the rustic country style decor and vide was nice. If I had another chance to visit this restaurant (which I may not), finger-crossed I could get an not wobbly stool. read more

I have always loved coming to the Rustic for brunch. They have changed their brunch menu yet again and it's just not quite as good as it used to be. They got rid of the cheesy/jalapeno hashbrowns and replaced them with potato halves that just don't compare. They also got rid of the cheese platter and now its just fruit. They have a new cucumber jicama salad which just doesn't flow with the rest of the brunch options. I loved the light they used to do. They also started doing peppered bacon which I prefer a plain bacon or sweet bacon especially when you already have the heat from the fried chicken. One thing they did change which I liked was the new migas egg dish. That had great flavor. Overall the brunch is still good but why mess with a good thing. read more

I'm obsessed with this place and wish I had found it sooner during my trip to Dallas. I was here for two weeks and would say this is in the top two favorite places I visited. I went on Thursday night 9/30, the hostess sat us outside under the tent (super duper windy night, thankful for the tent) which faces the stage where the live band began around 8:30pm. The overall vibe of this place was a good time which I appreciate, not overly snobby, not so relaxed that it's a dive bar but that perfect balance. I feel awful for not remembering our servers name but I believe it was Carlos, he noticed we hadn't been served after a few minutes of sitting. I was with a group of three women in total, he stopped to ask if he could grab us a drink while we waited for our server so he grabbed us margaritas and a beer, also put in our appetizer. We ordered the double queso which was pimento cheese and a more juicy classic queso that was absolutely spectacular. Definitely a must get when visiting. Lucky for us, Carlos let us know he would be taking care of us the rest of our visit. Let me just say, this place made us feel so special, not only did they bring the one solo- non couple person a drink on the house but they delivered free dessert. I'll get to the dessert in a minute. The drink may seem weird to some but honestly I was the third wheel on a same sex couple date so I greatly appreciated the gesture, it was kind, it was thoughtful and maybe it was a mistake drink at the bar but why waste it? Why not offer it to a table to enhance their experience... I see you putting in that extra effort! The couple I was with ordered the Texas cheesesteak which I sort of regret not ordering because it was amazing!!!! They got a side of Mac & cheese that had bread crumbs, sooooo good. I ordered the drunk chick, the presentation was level 10 Texas. It had a beer can in the butt that they pulled out upon serving the table to pour the au jus on it. Yum. I just wish there was more, only tweak I would have made and maybe change the side but that's just personal preference. Would have gone great with mash potato but that's my fault, not the restaurant because I had the option to switch the side. One of my favorite parts is the manager, I didn't get her name, young blonde woman who brought us a peanut butter pie after checking on us already to make sure we were having a great time. She came over and said "i heard it's your first time here, so I wanted to thank you for choosing us and welcome you with a peanut butter pie on us." Let me tell you, that one gesture earned lifetime business from us. Not only was it incredible (definitely big enough to share with 3-4 people) but the best gesture for new guests. We tried to go sit outside and sat for over 20 minutes without being waited on. Then we proceeded back inside for a table and once seated waited another 15 minutes to be acknowledged. Our waiter wasn't friendly and got an attitude when it came to our ID's, which he proceeded to spill my drink on the table. Burgers look delicious, hoping the food is worth the wait!
