We had a large group (volleyball team and parents) with two large tables (players table and parents table) of 12 outside. It was a perfect venue for our large group...outside during sunset/live band/cornhole. The food was delicious, especially the smoked cheese and chips, brisket tacos and grilled artichokes. The presentation of the beer can chicken was neat, but the chicken was a bit dry. The drinks were creative, tasty and strong! The only thing I would ask for differently is if the staff could do more than 3 checks for the two tables of 12. I'm sure they get large groups often, and usually when we dine out with any sport teams we would have the child tell the server their jersey number, then the server can pair the jersey number's order to the corresponding parent. So, in our case it would have only been six checks for our entire group. I went on a Thursday night and don't care for live music because they're usually mediocre quality, but the band I heard played bangers, were actually good musicians, and I enjoyed my night there. This is such a great venue. It is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday, go out for Friday night, or catch a Happy Hour. Speaking of Happy Hour, they have a unique system I've never seen before. $3 drinks at 3pm, $4 drinks at 4pm, and $5 drinks at 5pm. Specials end at 6. It's a shame that the Happy Hour ends kind of early though. I'm used to Happy Hours which go until 7 or sometimes even 7:30. The food was pretty good, BUT they did overcook our Ribeye. We ordered it medium rare, but it came out to be more medium well. This is my only reason for docking a star. Other wise, I thought all the other food was great and the service was excellent. If you're looking for a place to go that is *actually* good for groups and applies policies consistently, I suggest you look elsewhere. Every time I've been to the Rustic, it was as part of a group of 10 or more, on at least 6 to 7 different checks, and there was never an issue. Yesterday, however, as a group of seven who needed five checks, our server said that he could only do three checks. Either the policy has changed since March, or he lied to us--and my guess that it's the latter. I've spent years in food service and I know that it isn't difficult to split checks. Also, calling and speaking with someone to make a reservation is impossible due to the background noise. Like you literally cannot hear the person on the other end, and frankly they sound like they don't want to talk to you anyway. In short: Mediocre food, not accommodating to groups, and communication is abysmal. read more

What an amazing venue with good food, great ambiance & good service. We ordered the Joe Leo family style tacos of carnitas & brisket. They were absolutely amazing with a great flavor on both the meats. The sauce served with them was delicious & not too hot or spicy. We ordered a side of potato salad & that was good too, unique combo of sweet & dill flavors on it. We decided to try the frozen Moscow mules & that was the least favorite part of our meal. They were a bit too sweet or strong so the lime flavor. Very crowded on a Friday night but be patient as seats for two can be found quickly with the family style seating. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The place was full so we didn't see our waiter often. The food was good though. Chipotle Salmon burger was definitely a good call! My husband and I received our food (and our daughter did not)and after waiting for quite some time(the server never came back after she took our order to see if we needed anything)we finally got her attention and asked her about my daughters meal. Headed over to The Rustic this past Saturday to try their brunch special for the first time! Here, brunch works by paying $17.95/person and then receiving a variety of dishes to try. We were able to get a fruit and cheese platter, avocado toast, polenta, friend chicken, bacon/sausage, donuts, French toast, an egg frittata and perhaps some other small dishes that I've forgotten! The frittata and polenta were the stars of the show -- decently sized portions for a sampler, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We also enjoyed some of the cheeses on the fruit and cheese platter. Though the individual servings of each dish might look small, we left feeling pretty stuffed and still had food left over! We decided on visiting The Rustic because we wanted to visit a "Gastropub" and The Rustic's beer menu was a definite hook, with 40 - Yes, FORTY - different beers on tap! This was my only visit to The Rustic, but I have a strong sense that their food quality is consistent. Probably because all plates were presented exceptionally well and the feedback from everyone at our table was that the food tasted great. As "sharables,", our table ordered the Wood-grilled Artichoke, Chorizo Empanadas, Wild Boar Meatballs, and Cracklin' Deviled Eggs. Everything was really delish, but our least favorite was the Artichoke, our favorite was the Deviled Eggs... You MUST try the Deviled Eggs - OMG!!! For entrees we had the Center-cut Ribeye, the Chipotle Salmon Burger, the Drunk Chic (Beer-can Chicken), the Rustic Burger, and Pecan-crusted Striped Bass. There was also a Bleu Cheese Wedge Salad and House Salad had. Absolutely no complaints! So on all food presentation and quality, and Ice-Cold Beer... FIVE Solid Stars *****! There were a couple of things, however, that should be noted and, for me, reduce my rating to 4+ on the Yelp* rating scale. In no particular order: pricing for entrees is probably 25% over what I would consider a value, with all things considered; while there are a plethora of choices for beer, there are significant limitations on brands of hard liquor stocked at The Rustic and lastly; once the live band began playing, the playback music over the speakers inside the restaurant should have been silenced, but wasn't. The restaurant is clean and has a great, "rustic" industrial vibe and the staff at The Rustic were friendly and attentive. The men's restroom was clean and well-stocked, which is always a plus! All things considered, I would definitely visit The Rustic again, but I would probably plan on cold beer on tap, a salad, and an appetizer. It was a double-date brunch and we met there at noon. The parking situation is not the best seeing as the lot seems to always be packed with several cars circling the lot like sharks, just waiting for a spot to open up. My lack of patience had me ejecting my passenger to go put our names on the list while I went to seek parking elsewhere. The lot across the street is pretty big, but belongs to another business and had many signs informing parkers that our cars would be towed. Found a spot along the street which was absolutely free of charge and pretty close to the restaurant. We had to wait maybe a half hour for a table and got seated outside. The grounds and seating area are really nice. Super spacious, vast outdoor seating and a large elevated stage where a band sang to us almost the whole time we were there. The setting is indeed very rustic, complete with the plates we ate out of. We all ordered brunch which is a pretty good deal for the price. You get so many different things (spicy chicken, sausage, bacon, grit cake with gravy, frittata, french toast, donuts, salad, an assortment of cheese and crackers, etc.) that when I had first looked at the menu, I thought it was a buffet. EVERYTHING tasted AMAZING (except the goat cheese, which for me is a personal problem because I don't like goat cheese). I had the carafe of OJ mimosas as well and it was so awesome because it looked like a whole jug of bubbly with a small glass of OJ - you'll get no complaints from me! The only thing about the outdoor seating at brunch-time is that even though the tables all have umbrellas, if the sun is in the sky at an angle you get zero shade - which is pretty nice... for a little while, then you start to roast especially if you put lotion on that day. We got this brunch special they have on weekends for 19$ per person, and it was a ton of food to try. Everything tasted great, especially the the eggs and migas. The place was spacious in and out, and of course packed. We had a table out in the patio. Ambience is fun, loud, with live music. Our server was friendly I ordered 2 Mimosa carafe's, which were $12.95. The amount of juice they give you per carafe is almost insulting. (Less than half of your glass) I know you can ask for more but when it's Sunday brunch, you will be waiting a while..... Whatever, I ended up drinking just champagne minus my first glass. Outcome was me leaving extra Litly happy lol... The Shrimp and Avocado salad I ordered was just phenomenal. Full of freshness and just enough acidity but what made it for me, were the jicama in it. I generally love The Rustic but recently had an awful experience with a large group: I made a reservation for 16 people well in-advance for a birthday celebration. When I arrived for the reservation, we were told that only one of the two large picnic tables were ready for us, but the occupied table would be leaving shortly, as they had gotten their check. When we sat down, we observed the group at the occupied table order another round of drinks - which is totally fine - but at this point, members of my party were standing with no where to sit. I asked the host if it was possible to move the smaller group (7) to another set of tables that were open so that my group could sit together, as promised. The host assured me that this was the other table's last round and they'd be gone shortly. However, the other group then proceeded to order food. Instead of moving the other group to another table so my reservation could sit together, we were given a booth several feet away from our table to "temporarily" use. I ended up standing the entire night so the majority of my guests could sit, and the other table was never moved, despite there being other open tables for them. It was incredibly frustrating and the management/hosts weren't super kind when I approached them. This isn't the first time I've run into reservation issues at The Rustic. They seem to mess things up every time I try to book a group larger than 4. Needless to say, I will not be booking larger parties at The Rustic in the future. I was incredibly disappointed. It made my evening stressed and required me to be on my feet when I should've had plenty of room for us to sit. Thankfully we had an INCREDIBLE waiter who took great care of it! I've been coming here for like 4-5 years EVERY SUNDAY for the brunch. Their brunch was ELITE. The avocado toast, the potatoes, the chicken the salad all of it. A few weeks ago they changed the brunch menu and it's HORRRIBLE. Why would u guys do this. Y'all had hands down the MSOT ELITE BRUNCH anywhere. I did notice over the years they started to short us on the food. They took away the two avocados toast and only put one sometimes none. The chicken portions were cut in half. But to completely take ur brunch away?!?!? THATS WILD. I haven't been back for a brunch since. Whoever this new management is or new decision maker is needs to be fired or ATLEAST stop changing what works. That brunch was AMAZING. And now it's trash.
