The Rustic absolutely delivered. The service alone deserves a shoutout--Luke was outstanding: attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. The burger was amazing, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The meatballs were solid and well-seasoned, but the deviled eggs were the real standout--absolutely fantastic. On top of all that, the drink prices were surprisingly great for the quality and atmosphere. Excellent food, great value, and top-tier service. We'll definitely be back. been to the rusic before (the cactus fries are amazing) but first time for brunch. Our server, Melissa, was exceptional. We asked a million questions about the brunch menu and she was so willing to answer, and was incredibly considerate of our dietary restrictions. Unfortunately it started to pour so we didn't get to eat the brunch given we had a dog with us who couldn't come inside (as a giant dog lover, I appreciate restaurants willing to be strict about inside dining with a dog because it's truly for the benefit of other patrons), but the whole staff at rustic bent over backwards to do their best to accommodate us! I am an upstate NY long term temporary transfer to the greater Dallas area. I have come to The Rustic since 2022 by myself or with friends and have never been disappointed. The servers are excellent and make you feel that you are their only custOmer. The food doesn't disappoint either because there is literally something for everyone here. Happy hour offers half off a couple of crazy good appetizers and certain drinks. Delicious! This is what they brought for me for my birthday today on Feb 18th. Had a great time here! Fun Dallas atmosphere. My family really enjoyed the cactus fries, which was definitely unique and fun for those from North Carolina! The beer can hen was also a great experience and very tender and moist. The taco platter was flavorful and I would order it again. The only thing that was disappointing was that the restaurant 86'ed 3 of their cocktails, and the waitress had a difficult time naming similar drinks to replace the ones they were out of. I like the atmosphere here, as it is spacious, has indoor and outdoor seating and just gives that "Texan" vibe. However I was disappointed with the food, hence the lack of stars. I ordered the Hot chicken sandwich which was basically just a chicken tender thrown in some Texas toast with American cheese. There was nothing "hot" about it and honestly the tenders were so hard and thick it made it difficult to actually eat. The house made chips that it came with were good though, as was the side of jalapeno ranch I got. The drinks were solid. The first one was the mezcal drink (can't recall the name) I wasn't really a fan it was a little too sweet for me. However the Gold Rush was perfect! I had two of them in fact! read more

Number one it's Texas the first day of August, and it was extremely hot. We had to move a few times because apparently you can't just sit anywhere you want to which is fine. We move to the bar after I pay for a drink at my table. It took 10 minutes to get my drink and it was wrong. Come for the brunch menu! Everything is family style and made to order depending on how many are in your party. I've come before for their previous brunch menu but like the newer version. The chicken and potatoes are so seasoned and egg, jicama, and pastries are refreshing. You will definitely be full after this but I feel like it's worth the price. If you come during peak brunch hours you might have a short wait. We waited at the bar, got a lil mimosa and by the time the mimosa came out, our table was ready! One thing to note is that they weren't able to do vegetarian substitutions in case anyone is vegan/vegetarian, they'll only be able to eat a select number of dishes! read more

The atmosphere and music were awesome!! The drinks we had were great and the appetizers were popping! Unfortunately we never got our food, we got there in the middle of a shift change. Our first server was awesome and second one was so disorganized, he took our food order and 45 minutes later we still hadn't received our food. We flagged him down to check on our food told him what we had originally ordered. He then proceeded to come back one more time to ask what we ordered a third time. We asked him if he just put our order in he said yes we then asked him to just cancel our food order we paid for our drinks and appetizers and then left...very disappointing night...especially for my birthday dinner. read more

Love the live music. Our group had reservations for 9:15 but there was an accident on the freeway and most of us didn't arrive until 9:35. It was Friday night busy, but they were understanding and let one person hold the table until we arrived. Three of our group were celebrating their birthdays! The Rustic brought out Peanut Butter Pie to help us celebrate. The food all seems to have something different and unique. They have cactus fries made with prickly pear cactus. Giant spicy onion rings served with jalapeño ranch. Be warned , they are spicy! The brisket tacos are served on a platter to be shared. Spicy chicken sandwich was not as spicy as the onion rings. Burger with brisket and several other options were all good. Deviled eggs with cracklin' were a little too salty but no complaints from anyone. What a great fun venue. We were too busy celebrating so I didn't have time to take pictures. Will upload some on my next visit and review! read more

I was incredibly disappointed with my experience today. From the moment we walked it the experience was less than favorable. You had two very unhappy hostesses at the front. One with an AirPod in her ear. We then proceeded to get sat at a table that my seat backed right up to someone else that was already sitting there so that placement was not ideal but all right. We then waited a few minutes for our server and I wish I knew her name but she never said it. Orions was listed on the check so I'm assuming that was her last name. She greeted us leaning on the table next to us, no enthusiasm and with sunglasses. I use to work at a beachside restaurant, I understand sometimes you need sunglasses when you are outside. But at an indoor table, this is completely unacceptable. Drink Order: tried to order a frozen margarita. No frozen drinks available. Would have been nice to know of 86 items at the start. Appetizers: they come out. No share plates and no silverware so we are staring at hot food waiting for silverware Entrees: tried to order salmon items and no salmon in house. Again let your guests know of 86 items immediately. We would understand but communicate. Then we order the rustic burger. We have had before. So we know what the bun should be and it comes out on toast. And the worst part she just leaves it and doesn't mention that. Even though the table next to us. Who had an older gentleman having the burger and ordered after us got the burger with the bun. And again if this was mentioned prior to order or at least when dropped off maybe I wouldn't be writing this review. It was the first time I was bringing my partner and no it's ruined for him. Every hotel I've worked at. I would recommend manager outings, executive board happy hours, to hundreds of guests and meeting planners. After today, I just can't bring myself to recommend again. Food was good, I will say that and it's usually pretty consistent. There were so many steps of service missed and just disappointed. 04.19 update. Our last experience was so poor that it took us more than 6 years to try this place again and it somehow continued to be a disappointment. While the hostesses were kinder and the waitress nice, we again had to wait too long at our table for service, were rarely checked on, and had an ordered item never arrive. We asked for ketchup -with three people at the table eating burger/sandwich meals- and were provided one little ramekin for everyone; I just had to laugh at it. The food was fine... nothing I could not easily throw together at home. There are plenty of significantly better places with nice atmosphere, patios and live music, I truly don't understand any positive review for this place. Met girlfriends here for brunch the last Saturday in June. Let me start by saying this place has a huge parking lot, which is surprising for being in Uptown. I wish I had known that before I took car service. At any rate, my friends were already seated at two high-top tables near the bar area. I get that this place has a great patio, but it was a scorcher that day, and even with the glass doors between the inside and the patio closed, it was uncomfortably hot in the restaurant. So, taking off one star for the temperature. Rachel was our server, and she was fantastic! Especially since she told us at the end of our brunch it was her first day. We never would have known it. Her service was on point, and she was waiting on 12 of us! So, applause to her! I started with the Texan Candy cocktail, and it tasted like a watermelon jolly rancher. Yum yum! I ordered the avocado & shrimp salad, and it was cool, crisp, and tasty. Half of our group ordered salads, and the other half did the family style brunch. I wish I had participated in the brunch! Everything looked delicious, and I heard the French toast was extra special. The Rustic has been on my list to visit for a decade, and this was my first experience. I definitely want to try it again on a cooler day and also have the family style brunch. read more

We had a reservation at 8 and arrived on time and we were seated immediately. It took the waitress 10 minutes to come to take our drink order. It took another 15 minutes to receive our drinks. I ordered a TX old fashion and the rim supposedly had smoked sugar but it was absolutely disgusting. They must of put the wrong thing because it tasted like steak seasoning mixed with something and it was horrid. We ordered our food as soon as our drinks arrived. Then it took another 40 minutes to receive our food. The food mediocre at best, cold, and undercooked. As far as the atmosphere, it was decent. The tables are far too close to one another. With a shared plate, no substitutions menu, the brunch is great to try a variety of food with a great atmosphere and awesome live music. The place is busy and it definitely impacts the service. Took a while for drink refills and because the coffee is all French press, that takes a while too. Stand seemed indifferent, overworked, made at their managers, or simply not interested. The food concept is there, but it's not quite hitting the mark. For example, I'd much prefer a nice flaky piece of salmon with micro-greens, tomatoes and fresh tartar sauce on a buttered toasted brioche bun. And a grilled lemon to squeeze on it, instead of a salmon croquette that had no flavor and it did not taste good, which detracts from its potential. However, the Smoked Dip Duo shines -- the smoked brisket, spinach and cheddar fondue, cold pimento dip, and smoked salt potato chips come together beautifully, offering both comfort and creativity. Beyond the menu, The Rustic has a cool vibe and great atmosphere, especially with the outdoor space and live music creates a vibrant and inviting environment that captures the essence of The Rustic's appeal. We let the birthday boy pick our spot for brunch and this was it! I love the atmosphere. My husband and I agreed that we thought it felt more like we were in Austin with the large outdoor patio and live music. The family style brunch was better than I expected, especially after reading reviews. Our server had such a great personality, which was very much welcomed after how rude the hostess was. I can only imagine that she was either having an off day or genuinely just hates every human being on the planet. She made an entire ordeal after we didn't like the area in which she tried to seat us. We had a ton of rain the day before and the table was nearly flooded out. I really hope the restaurant sees this and has a chat with her because that attitude could have ruined our experience. I apologize that I have no food p0rn to share since we dove right in. Let me tell you about our meal! Frittata - I honestly don't ever order it so I don't know if the consistency is usually similar to that of tofu. Regardless, it tasted decent. Crispy fried chicken - the breading has just the perfect amount of salty and it was everything I want in crispy chicken. Bacon and sausage - the cheesy jalapeño sausage was good and the bacon was just the right amount of crunchy and soft. Hash - super cheesy. To quote my friend: The hash is fire!" Teensy weensy muffins - I could have eaten all of the blueberry ones. French Toast - y'all, it has orange zest in it and it was amazing. I could have also eaten a ton more of it.
