I stopped by after going to agua dulce winery. I wanted a coffee and looked on Yelp and the rustic mercantile came up. I am glad I decided to try it out. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and a chicken sandwich. The food was good and the service was quick. There wasn't too many people there when I got there but slowly people started trickling in. While I waited for my sandwich I browsed the store and they had a good variety of items. I didn't purchase anything but I liked the boots they had and they had a lot of cute baby items as well.

My folks are regulars here as they're addicted to the soft served ice cream, so when my husband and I were visiting last weekend they had to take us here for an afternoon treat. This a super cute spot that's a coffee shop, ice cream shop, cafe, and retail shop all rolled into one space. There was a variety of seating options inside as well as comfortable benches and adirondack chairs outside. Whether you're shopping, grabbing a coffee/matcha, or bite to eat, you can be helped at the main counter inside to the right. Service was fairly friendly. The soft served ice cream was indeed good and came in a variety of sizes with option for cup, cake cone, or waffle cone. I opted for the twist in a waffle cone and really enjoyed it. I wish we had time to come back the next morning for coffee & matcha as both looked delicious; perhaps next time! I did end up purchasing a few items from the retail side as well because they had all sorts of cute apparel & home décor items as well as treats & items for your cat or dog. Super cute place! Would absolutely recommend to anyone who lives in Acton / Agua Dulce or anyone who finds themselves at Vasquez Rocks State Park!

This place is underrated! It certainly deserves more foot traffic. The barista at the counter concocted the best CHOCOLATE TEA for my mom and me--by our request. She was absolutely friendly about it, too. I highly suggest they put this drink on their menu, because she did such a great job with the flavor and sweetness level! For the tea option, we chose VANILLA TEA--then, we asked her to put more tea than hot/mocha chocolate; and for milk, we chose oatmilk. We preferred ours LESS MILKY, MORE TEA. We ordered it hot, but next time we're willing to try it over ice! Thank you, Eden!

Their food is good. Down the road somewhere we ran across this Mercantile. Greeted with friendly faces and cheerful welcomes, me and my girl set to have a quick bite

Great little just 20 minutes outside the East side on Santa Clarita. We stopped in to check out the shop and get some coffee and eats. This is a family owned business. The owner greeted us and told us a bit about the store and cafe. He gave all the credit to his wife though. Smart man! There are a few tables and chairs inside and outside to enjoy your food. Many people were there working in their laptops. We ordered the avocado toast and a salad. We also both had an oat milk latte. The coffees were delightful. The avocado toast was one of the best we've ever had. And the apple and walnut salad was fresh and delicious. Most of the merchandise is western in theme. However there is a nice variety. We found this place towards the end of our day of exploring so we will be back to spend more time in the near future. Oh, I will definitely try the frozen custard next time. Many customers came in just to get it!

A cute little country cafe in a remote area of the SCV. I wouldn't particularly venture out this way for the coffee, but for the experience. The barista was pretty and sweet, but my latte was mediocre. She happily remade a drink for me and brought it over to where I was sitting, which was so nice. They have little knickknacks for sale, but definitely pricey. Anyway, it was a warm and welcoming place to spend a gloomy morning with family after all the holiday madness.

Nice experience. Nothing to rave much about. Their cold brew was solid. My partner got her brown sugar Latte that she liked. It's a very small coffee shop in the mercantile shop. Service was helpful and quick with their drinks. would I come back here? I don't see why not.

My sister and I stopped by on a Saturday morning after we had hiked at Vasquez Ricks. It's about half mile from Vasquez Rocks. It's very easy to get to, plenty of parking and dog friendly. We walked in and they had a pastries, drinks and breakfast. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese croissant. We also ordered the avocado toast and a pretzel bread breakfast sandwich. My sister had matcha and I had strawberry lemonade. The sandwich was the best croissant sandwich I've ever had. It was a little pricey, but it was delicious and I will absolutely be back!

Me and my son are looking for some ice cream after riding their bikes in Santa Clarita decided to try this place out. Very friendly girls working in the counter. The ice cream was delicious and they have a lot of souvenirs to look through while you're waiting. Definitely recommend.

I really like this place! The Rustic Mercantile is a great place for your morning cup or breakfast. They have a good selection of things to eat on the menu and lots of choices for the coffee connoisseur . I had a latte and it was very good. Charlie was great to talk to and she made the whole experience great for our group. The store is decked out with a cowboy country feel with lots of swag and merch to keep you busy, while you wait for your order. They also have seating both inside and outside, with a beautiful outdoor patio area. The store and bathrooms are clean and parking is easy out front. I will be back to try some of the pastries or their ice cream.

Luscious bakery to go with your cappuccino or iced mocha. Cranberry scone is my favorite

It's time to saddle up and ride on over to Agua Dulce, a throwback to the good old days. Been hearing about this beautiful Mercantile for four months now and finally dropped by. This little place is a sweet destination on a lazy weekend. Family and dog friendly, with something for everyone. The baristas are serving up a fabulous cappuccino and a full coffee lover's menu. It might be in the beans, sweet service or just good vibes, but this was one of the most satisfying cappuccini I've had in awhile, rich robust and smooth. Lots of folks rave about the soft serve ice cream, a real plus in hubby's book! I believe I could find a unique and classy gift here for almost anyone or at the very least something for me! Good vibes! When it comes down to feeling welcome, and the happiness among patrons, the experience couldn't be better. People with coffee, scones, muffins and ice cream enjoy the pleasantly shaded seating out front as well as an amply covered patio out back. Good times and sweet treats happening here!

Easter Bunnies!!!!! And always lovely lavender vanilla latte. Didn't even have to ask she made the bunnies so sweet and smile worthy.

I'm a repeat customer who so far hadn't been disappointed- Always so helpful- happy-employees working here. They know their products and will special make to cover any special needs. I wish they opened at 6am I'd hit them on my way to work in LA. The coffee is lovely. It's not made from a machine. It's made by a human like coffee shops used to be. The boutique items are cute and very tempting as the prices are not more than in LA. They haven't raised their prices being in a rural area. They also have drinks not just coffee and it's an array of different healthy carbonated drinks to ginger shots. Worth a stop or detour - one girl has the same name as me :)

Place is awesome if you want clean food and a nice little place to grab a sandwich. A little pricey for me but the food is very good quality. You can mix the breads on the sandwiches or the salads are very high quality. There's also a bunch of gifts around the shop, really unique stuff. Great place to take a girl if you're trying to impress her. Ps the owners are also very sweet.

Ask the Community - The Rustic Mercantile

What is the base milk they use? Whole milk or 2%?

They use both. I like to ask for 2% in my latte, but the default is whole milk, if you don't ask for a specific milk. They also have almond milk on request.

About halfway through eating my bowl, I found a hair. And I knew it was not my hair because it was dark (I have light hair), and I discovered it halfway through my bowl, so it was clearly deep in there/mixed in when making my bowl. Unfortunately, I had to toss the rest of my bowl because I was disgusted. So there went $14 down the drain :/ $14 for a small by the way, which I thought was kind of ridiculous, but I do like that it's unlimited toppings. The empanada was pretty good, and I do like that it comes with sauces on the side as well. They also have a decent variety of empanada flavors. But $6.50 for just 1 was not worth it in my opinion. This place is definitely on the pricier side. It wouldn't be something I would buy regularly. More so just for a craving/quick fix. I do appreciate the variety of base flavors (besides just acai) and many topping options. The agave coconut base and the pitaya base were really good. This was my first visit here, but unfortunately will also be my last visit since the hair in my food really ruined the experience for me :(

All the ingredients taste fresh and juicy here lol. My favorite base is the pitaya but it's nice to opt for a mixture of 2 different flavors. They use a decent amount of fruit and toppings so you don't end up with too much of the plain base on its own by the end of the bowl. Service was quick and the employee who helped me was friendly and prompt. She mentioned they were out of the cashew butter I requested for one of the bowls, so she provided a different butter on the side in a convenient container. Parking is abundant in this area and while the line can get a little long, you can always order online in advance with a specific pick up time. TLDR: Addicting Product, Disappointing Customer Service…read more I've never been a huge fan of Açaí until I tried this place. I find myself going again and again and again. It's a love-hate relationship because each bite is more delicious than the last, but that also means that I'm going to be finished soon. I wish they made a size bigger than 32oz because it is just so damn good I can't get enough. You ever try something new and it suddenly becomes a part of your life like you can never be without it? That's exactly how I feel about this place. My go to order is: 32 oz Acai bowl, chocolate chunk granola, strawberry and banana, Nutella drizzle, and an extra topping of bee pollen. Parking is never an issue so it's easy to get in and get out fairly quickly. The only issue I've come across so far has to be the customer service. I placed a large order recently and realized I made a mistake. I called within 2 minutes of placing the order to fix it, and was told that the bowls had been made already. I was perplexed because when you order through the app, "ASAP" means it will be ready in 20 minutes. I ordered four bowls, and it was ready in less than two minutes? Yeah something is off here. I asked if I could fix the mistake I made and was met with "no there's nothing we can do because it's been made already". I explained how that couldn't be my order because I had JUST placed it, and it's advertised that it would be ready in 20 minutes because I chose the "ASAP" option. They then said that sometimes if they're not busy, they can finish an order in 5 minutes.... Okay. Well this one was done in 2 minutes so they must have The Flash working there. So just a heads up to everyone. Even though 20 minutes is what it'll say in the app if you select "ASAP" your order will probably be ready way before that so don't wait longer than you need to. Since they weren't remotely interested in trying to help me out, I figure I'd just have to take the L on this one. I sent an email to the address they have listed on their website (hello@beariesacai.com) for further help, but don't even bother trying that. The address is invalid so it'll get you nowhere. They should fix that because it's listed on their company website. They have a different email listed on their instagram page (beariesacai@gmail.com) But they haven't responded so I wouldn't count on getting any help. So make sure ya'll get it right the first time, Otherwise you're just out of luck. It's still absolutely delicious though.
