Passed by this cute spot after hiking at the Vasquez Rocks and I just had to stop. Lots of parking available! Inside is so cute, lots of ranch themed decor and clothes. I got a candle which smells amazing. They also serve coffee, ice cream, sandwiches and pastries. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and an orange cranberry muffin. The latte was great! I stopped by after going to agua dulce winery. I wanted a coffee and looked on Yelp and the rustic mercantile came up. I am glad I decided to try it out. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and a chicken sandwich. The food was good and the service was quick. There wasn't too many people there when I got there but slowly people started trickling in. While I waited for my sandwich I browsed the store and they had a good variety of items. My folks are regulars here as they're addicted to the soft served ice cream, so when my husband and I were visiting last weekend they had to take us here for an afternoon treat. This a super cute spot that's a coffee shop, ice cream shop, cafe, and retail shop all rolled into one space. There was a variety of seating options inside as well as comfortable benches and adirondack chairs outside. Whether you're shopping, grabbing a coffee/matcha, or bite to eat, you can be helped at the main counter inside to the right. Service was fairly friendly. The soft served ice cream was indeed good and came in a variety of sizes with option for cup, cake cone, or waffle cone. I opted for the twist in a waffle cone and really enjoyed it. I wish we had time to come back the next morning for coffee & matcha as both looked delicious; perhaps next time! I did end up purchasing a few items from the retail side as well because they had all sorts of cute apparel & home décor items as well as treats & items for your cat or dog. Super cute place! This place is underrated! It certainly deserves more foot traffic. The barista at the counter concocted the best CHOCOLATE TEA for my mom and me--by our request. She was absolutely friendly about it, too. I highly suggest they put this drink on their menu, because she did such a great job with the flavor and sweetness level! For the tea option, we chose VANILLA TEA--then, we asked her to put more tea than hot/mocha chocolate; and for milk, we chose oatmilk. We preferred ours LESS MILKY, MORE TEA. Great little just 20 minutes outside the East side on Santa Clarita. We stopped in to check out the shop and get some coffee and eats. This is a family owned business. The owner greeted us and told us a bit about the store and cafe. He gave all the credit to his wife though. Smart man! There are a few tables and chairs inside and outside to enjoy your food. Many people were there working in their laptops. We ordered the avocado toast and a salad. We also both had an oat milk latte. The coffees were delightful. The avocado toast was one of the best we've ever had. And the apple and walnut salad was fresh and delicious. Most of the merchandise is western in theme. However there is a nice variety. We found this place towards the end of our day of exploring so we will be back to spend more time in the near future. Oh, I will definitely try the frozen custard next time. My sister and I stopped by on a Saturday morning after we had hiked at Vasquez Ricks. It's about half mile from Vasquez Rocks. It's very easy to get to, plenty of parking and dog friendly. We walked in and they had a pastries, drinks and breakfast. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese croissant. We also ordered the avocado toast and a pretzel bread breakfast sandwich. My sister had matcha and I had strawberry lemonade. The sandwich was the best croissant sandwich I've ever had. It was a little pricey, but it was delicious and I will absolutely be back! read more

We have been coming here 1-2 times a month since the place opened. A couple of weeks ago, for the first time since we started coming here, we got coffee that was not good. It didn't taste good and it didn't sit well. We think the milk was spoiled. Went back again this weekend thinking it was a one off situation. Nope. The service was quite poor. The service at this place is usually slow on weekends, but this weekend it was just too much. I ordered decaf and after waiting for my order for 15-20 mins I was told they didn't have any. So I asked for a refund and none of the employees knew how to do it. So I had to wait for them to call someone to figure it out. Left with no coffee, and wasted my time. I believe there was a recent change in ownership and that's probably why things are different. And not for the better. Too bad. read more

I really like this place! The Rustic Mercantile is a great place for your morning cup or breakfast. They have a good selection of things to eat on the menu and lots of choices for the coffee connoisseur . I had a latte and it was very good. Charlie was great to talk to and she made the whole experience great for our group. The store is decked out with a cowboy country feel with lots of swag and merch to keep you busy, while you wait for your order. They also have seating both inside and outside, with a beautiful outdoor patio area. The store and bathrooms are clean and parking is easy out front. It's time to saddle up and ride on over to Agua Dulce, a throwback to the good old days. Been hearing about this beautiful Mercantile for four months now and finally dropped by. This little place is a sweet destination on a lazy weekend. Family and dog friendly, with something for everyone. The baristas are serving up a fabulous cappuccino and a full coffee lover's menu. It might be in the beans, sweet service or just good vibes, but this was one of the most satisfying cappuccini I've had in awhile, rich robust and smooth. Lots of folks rave about the soft serve ice cream, a real plus in hubby's book! I believe I could find a unique and classy gift here for almost anyone or at the very least something for me! Good vibes! When it comes down to feeling welcome, and the happiness among patrons, the experience couldn't be better. I'm a repeat customer who so far hadn't been disappointed- Always so helpful- happy-employees working here. They know their products and will special make to cover any special needs. I wish they opened at 6am I'd hit them on my way to work in LA. The coffee is lovely. It's not made from a machine. It's made by a human like coffee shops used to be. The boutique items are cute and very tempting as the prices are not more than in LA. They haven't raised their prices being in a rural area. Place is awesome if you want clean food and a nice little place to grab a sandwich. A little pricey for me but the food is very good quality. You can mix the breads on the sandwiches or the salads are very high quality. There's also a bunch of gifts around the shop, really unique stuff. The inside is super cool to look at but as for the food... Ordered an avocado chicken sandwich due to high ratings but there was no flavor. Super bland chicken and the avocado was barely present. After hiking Vasquez rocks we had high hopes. Instead just spent $15.37 on a sandwich that wasn't worth the price especially for its size. The owner was present but didn't greet us and didn't seem very welcoming. For this price I'd expect a delicious meal. Won't be back. read more

This place is very nice with plenty of items for sale in which I brought 2 types of drinks plus soap and hot sauce.. My parents live out in Agua Dulce and I go visit them maybe once a month. I always hated that the nearest ice coffee was like 15-20 minutes away. Now I have this place and I'm SO grateful. Not sure what's happened to this place but it's kinda gone downhill! Everytime I come here there's an issue with my drink. A few weeks ago I started trying to order their energy drink. I would ask them the difference between them and the person helping had no clue the difference. Ok whatever. But then they would give me the wrong drink and not add the flavor like I wanted. I asked for watermelon and they wouldn't add the flavor. Happened about 2 or 3 times. The lady who owns it was there and was super nice about it and would have them remake the drink. However, if one of the owners isn't there. Don't count on it going well. Today I finally decided to just go back to ordering iced espresso. I asked for 2 pumps of lavender. Well now the barista insisted it's 75cents for each pump of lavender. I'm sorry what? Starbucks doesn't even charge for each flavor pump. So if I want 3 pumps you mean to tell me I'm gonna have to pay $2.25 extra??? That's insane. Then I ask for just a splash of half and half. Well they decided to turn it into a latte. I used to love coming up here on my bike just to get a coffee. But after all this I'm not gonna waste my time coming up here anymore! I just got a refund on my order and left! Also, while I was waiting for my drink I heard the girls whispering to eachother and complaining about me and my order. Super disappointing cause I try to be nice! I can't help but think it was personal. If that's how it is, it's no problem I can go somewhere else. I'll happily go somewhere else! Love love love the ambiance here! It's very western. I got the lavender vanilla latte which is amazing and not too sweet. They sell pickles and honey which I will be buying in the future as well as some old appliances and plenty of new stuff like blankets, dog collars, boots, soap, etc. lots of random cute stuff. So, today I was on my own with no plans decided to do some driving and exploring the outskirts of Santa Clarita...and found myself taking a scenic drive down Vasquez Canyon to Sierra Hwy and ultimately to Aqua Dulce to experience this quality establishment. Not only was my brown sugar iced latte delicious, but the butter croissant was legitimately the best I've had since visiting France. It was heated just right to make it perfectly flakely. The employees were super kind, too, checking to be sure that everything was ok. I was fortunate to meet the owners. We had some fun and interesting conversation, which was really welcome since I was on my own. Plenty variety of seating, inside and out, along with a great selection of merchandise to browse.
