I have been going here for years. The food is consistently great comfort food. I wish they would make the Green Chili Cabalcita soup a regular menu item. This was the best soup I have had in 20 years. I visited a week ago with my wife and another couple. They had the corn beef on a flour tortilla with potato salad. Wonderful and good portions. Order delivery many times a week. So are disabled and in wheelchairs so cooking is always a hard thing to safely do. Therefore the sandwich shop is our lifeline. How have I lived in The Burque for almost eighteen years and have completely overlooked this diner? I'm disappointed in myself but I will do better by sharing some info to all who will listen/read. Wow, the kind woman who took our order heard that we were first timers and she said, "Since it's your first time, I want to give you some soup." Whaaat?! Posole and Chicken Chile Cheese - so good! And I'm not sure if chips and salsa come with every order, but she threw those in as well. I was impressed by The Sandwich Company's heuvos rancheros plate (not pictured). My bestie and I are super picky about this dish - first off, it's GOTTA BE A CORN tortilla on the bottom (which they did, upon request). It was not greasy and it was one layer of tortilla - yes, YES! Eggs over medium - perfectly runny. Red chile was okay - on the milder side. The pinto beans - SO flavorful. Their potatoes - ooooo I love when breakfast potatoes are crispy and brown on the top and then fluffy underneath. My breakfast burrito was respectably good and they got my bacon just how I requested it - crispy. Again, both the red & green were on the milder side, which isn't an issue, but I could've handled a little more heat. I enjoyed seeing how busy they were with locals/regulars. You can tell that this is a spot that people visit weekly, as I overheard a few friendly convos between the kind young lady server and her customers. Next time, I must try the sandwiches!! read more

I've been to restaurants all over, tried some of the finest foods, but there is something so comforting about a warm cup of soup in the middle of the day. I typed "soup" into my yelp search and the Sandwich Company was one of the first places that came up. As I pulled up and walked to the front, I could hear and smell meats sizzling on the grill, followed by Rick James' "Superfreak" playing through the windows. It's like this place was meant for me! At the Sandwich Company, you always order first and then the food is brought out to you. You can choose from some rotating specials, soups of the day, and even pluck out some ice cold drinks or desserts for your meal. I spotted a slice of pumpkin pie and thought, man, they have it all covered! My eyes went to the homemade brownies, so I added that on top of my to-go lunch order. I ordered a cup of Posole, then an Albuquerque Turkey sandwich. I zipped back to my office and couldn't wait to eat. I am confident this is "my" lunch spot. Beyond food, the staff is super nice. You'll never miss silverware or condiments because it is all laid out near the cashier, so it's easy to make your selections. Breakfast here is also delicious and inexpensive. Try the carne adovada, it's tender and seasoned perfectly. The portions are just right. They have more than one coffee option, usually. If I could only give The Sandwich Company more than 5 STARS!!! It's a 10!!! My brother and his fiancé invited us to a late breakfast. When they mentioned the name...my first thought was I thought we were going for huevos rancheros? ;) As it turns out this restaurant is so great!! All their food is fresh and made daily including the salsa. I had the best tasting huevos rancheros with carne adovada! They also give you a cup so you can help yourselves to a cup of homemade soup...i.e. posole, green chili with meat & potatoes, and a few others. Wow!!! Talk about a treat and homemade flavors. They don't skimp on anything. Their coffee is full flavor too. This restaurant has been around for over 18+ years and I never heard about it, or saw the sign. So happy our family brought us here. This is now our new favorite restaurant to have great huevos rancheros and other dishes. Their menu is extensive! There is something for everyone. The sandwiches look amazing! We will be trying numerous items. Every dish they brought out to the patrons were great looking and the servings are quite generous. I promise you will not be disappointed. Service is great. Worked down the block for years, but the place is not much to look at, retro-70's signage but a good amount of parking north of the place Breakfast served all day the menu said, so this night-shifter found his favorite "Carne Adovada " on the menu and ordered up! I went for a breakfast burrito because I am a NM food snob and am always looking for well made burritos and correctly prepared red chile. They sadly didn't make the grade. I ordered the large burrito (sadly overpriced for what you get). It had very little egg and a crap ton of potatoes. Then you get more potatoes on the side.
