Reuben with side of potato salad. Sooo good.
Jean C.

I was greeted upon entering. Really friendly woman. My reuben sandwich was to go and you serve yourself soup from the soup bar. A cup was an additional $2. So worth it. She gave me a spoon and a napkin so I could eat some while I waited for my order. The sandwich had plenty of meat and it was delicious. The potato salad is made with mayo and mustard in house. Bery tasty. They close at 2pm and I got there at 1:45pm but I never felt rushed to leave.

This Ian's hole in the wall place that has really good food. They letter try the chicken noodle soup and it was fantastic. I had the chunky chicken sandwich and potato salad and they packed the chicken on the sandwich and the potato salad was delicious. The place isn't much to look at but the food is amazing

Posole soup
Kelli T.

As 1st time guest, we were treated to a complimentary cup of soup with 4 different choices. My posole was delicious as well as my Huevos Rancheros! The salad bar caught my eye because of the bright color ingredients. Everything looked so fresh and tasty; will have to come back and give it a try. The interior was homey and cozy with lots of live plants. The staff was friendly and efficient.

So yummy and the cashier gave us a small bowl to sample the soups since it was our first time here.

Ham n cheese with Day-Glo Queso.

The place isn't much to look at on the outside, with the vibe carefully cultivated to match on the inside. So this was my first time here and my knee jerk thoughts within the first fifteen minutes are as follows: Why is my queso day glo orange? It reminds me of movie theater nachos. Wow, the staff are crazy polite and attentive. They've checked up on me three times since I've been here! The ham n cheese is pretty good. It could use some spicy deli mustard, but otherwise it ranks right up there. They have a salad bar. Really. A salad bar in the middle of a pandemic. Lol. Day glo queso cheese? I'll be back for breakfast. The omelette photos temp me.

Good day, as the sun is setting after being really hot. Here is a really hot podcast review of one of Tom Neiman's and Jim Tritten's favorite lunch places - The Sandwich Company. Lots of good food and good service. Just click on the trailing YouTube link and enjoy. https://youtu.be/I3hpn30Z3Rc

Quick service and great menu. The buffet style soup bar was nice and the cheesy chicken soup was delicious. The decor is a bit dated but felt comfortable and there was plenty of seating. The Rueben sandwich was tasty and warm.

Great food spot for a nice meal. Went in for breakfast and they had a pretty good breakfast croissant sandwich with side of potatoes. Very filling. My friend had the French toast and she enjoyed them as well. The service was phenomenal, everyone was really nice and friendly. I'd come back again to try an actual sandwich for lunch.

The Company Burrito (breakfast), posole, and chicken cheese chile soup

How have I lived in The Burque for almost eighteen years and have completely overlooked this diner? I'm disappointed in myself but I will do better by sharing some info to all who will listen/read. Wow, the kind woman who took our order heard that we were first timers and she said, "Since it's your first time, I want to give you some soup." Whaaat?! Posole and Chicken Chile Cheese - so good! And I'm not sure if chips and salsa come with every order, but she threw those in as well. I was impressed by The Sandwich Company's heuvos rancheros plate (not pictured). My bestie and I are super picky about this dish - first off, it's GOTTA BE A CORN tortilla on the bottom (which they did, upon request). It was not greasy and it was one layer of tortilla - yes, YES! Eggs over medium - perfectly runny. Red chile was okay - on the milder side. The pinto beans - SO flavorful. Their potatoes - ooooo I love when breakfast potatoes are crispy and brown on the top and then fluffy underneath. My breakfast burrito was respectably good and they got my bacon just how I requested it - crispy. Again, both the red & green were on the milder side, which isn't an issue, but I could've handled a little more heat. I enjoyed seeing how busy they were with locals/regulars. You can tell that this is a spot that people visit weekly, as I overheard a few friendly convos between the kind young lady server and her customers. Next time, I must try the sandwiches!!

It's busy but there's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and the turnover pace is pretty good. Things can be a bit loud if you hit the crowded times, but really it's a popular spot for good reason. I got the sweet potato hash and it had the perfect mix of veggies and eggs and was cooked just right. I also tried one of their tea blends and it really hit the spot. Good balance of tuna, celery, and bread ratio, but I didn't dig the olives in it. There's a mini kale salad that comes with entrees, and it was healthy and palatable for kale. We did end up balancing that green with the pistachio cruffin and pistachio chocolate chip cookie. Would definitely go back for the cruffin with its flaky layers and luscious pastry cream. Cookie was less impressive but still worth the impulse buy. Indoor and breezy outdoor seating available. Highly recommend!

The area looks old and poor, but near the restaurant, we didn't see anything sketchy. When we were leaving, we did see some homeless people at the main intersection, but we didn't see anything we'd describe as sketchy. We did notice there is a mobile home park behind the restaurant, but there is a wall between the mobile home park and the restaurant parking lot. Even if there were police surrounding the mobile home park, we'd still venture inside to eat. The food is that good. We shared the cowboy breakfast burrito and the Santa Fe pancakes. Both were filling and ridiculously good. The Santa Fe pancakes made with blue corn, roasted piñons, green chili, and cheddar jack cheese were different than anything else we've ever had. I'll admit I didn't love my first bite or two, but the more I ate, the more I wanted. The pancakes are dry, but if you drizzle some syrup, it's the perfect match. The accompanying eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The cowboy breakfast burrito is massive, filling, and worth every calorie. Even though we were stuffed, we had to get the peach with green chile turnover. We asked if the turnover is served warm and our waitress replied that she could warm it up for is. I'm not sure that it is normally served warm, but I highly recommend it. The turnover flaky, the glaze was silky once warmed up and the peach with green chile was unique and delicious. Five star service and food. I highly recommend Vick's Vittles and hope that I'm in the area again so I can try more of this delicious food.

Our waitress did come back to bring the coffee. Before she got there we were discussing the fact that the entire staff was new. She must have overheard us and took it as some kind of slight to her. Two minutes later the manager came over to inform us that we were being rude to her server and that she would be taking over our service. After some discussion my wife said, "this is ridiculous, guess we won't be coming here again" the manager said "well I'll cancel your order and you can leave now". We said we didnt want her to cancel our order and she just said have a nice day. So we left. Sooo not the Vicks Vittles of the past.

The person who…read moreanswered was incredibly helpful and patiently explained that only the name had changed, which I appreciated. For our meal, we ordered two Chicken & Waffles plates, a Blue Corn Lavender Waffle, and a kids' plate. The Chicken & Waffles were the highlight of the meal, offering a satisfying balance of sweet and savory flavors. The Blue Corn Lavender Waffle was a unique touch and a fun way to try something distinctly New Mexican. Neither my wife nor I cared for the drip coffee, so we asked a staff member if we could swap it out for double espressos. They were happy to accommodate us, and the espresso was a significant improvement. The service was friendly, and the staff made a positive first impression from the phone call all the way through our visit. For our family, the total came to about $80, which felt a little steep. We ended up eating inside since the patio tables were either occupied or unavailable (due to a sleeping homeless person). The restaurant is housed in a renovated older home, and they've done a nice job making the most of the space. One of my favorite touches was the collection of retro waffle makers displayed along the walls, which added a fun, nostalgic charm to the atmosphere. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I'd happily return to explore more of the menu.

I had to pick between savory and sweet, and the menu is huge with lots of options plus build your own! I went for savory and got it with goat cheese and spinach (built my own). It was delightful. The blue corn is just a tinge sweet so was an interesting mix. The waffle is a decent size but is super filling and dense. I'll have to try some sweet waffles or some different waffle bases next time! That said there are lots of gluten free options as well, so if that's for you, then don't hesitate to come check it out you won't be disappointed. There is indoor and outdoor seating, though in general the place is small-ish and can get crowded during busy times. Parking is also a bit of an adventure, but so is anywhere in that area. The staff is super friendly as well. All in all a great experience and I will be back. I can't believe it took me so long to get here in the first place!
