My husband and I visited your restaurant this evening, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had. After entering, we stood waiting for approximately five minutes without being greeted or acknowledged. No one informed us that we needed to order using the kiosk until we asked. I ordered a turkey bacon sandwich, but when my order was prepared, it was missing the bacon. My husband calmly approached the manager to explain that we didn't feel like valued customers because of the lack of service. Rather than listening or trying to resolve the issue, the manager became confrontational. He compared my husband to his grandfather and stated that he "wouldn't even let his grandpa talk to him like that." His tone and behavior escalated the situation instead of helping to de-escalate it. He then told us we could leave, despite the fact that I had just spent nearly $20 on a sandwich that was made incorrectly. As we were leaving, the manager continued yelling at us and making upsetting comments. In a moment of frustration, I threw my sandwich back toward the counter, and it struck him. He immediately pulled out his phone, put the camera directly in my face, and repeatedly stated that I was "going to jail tonight." When the police arrived, they indicated they were familiar with this manager from previous incidents and even suggested that I contact corporate regarding the way the situation had been handled. I fully acknowledge that throwing the sandwich was not the right way to respond, and I regret that action. However, I believe the manager's conduct, lack of professionalism, and repeated escalation of the situation were completely unacceptable. A manager should be focused on resolving customer concerns, not provoking further conflict. I hope this incident is taken seriously so that other customers do not have a similar experience. read more

GETTING HERE: Located in the Simi Valley Town Center shopping center, next to Chipotle and Gigi's Playhouse. REVIEW: Solid 2.5/3 star experience. I was going to round down for pretty shoddy customer service, but thankfully, the employee turned it around after I placed my order. This is set up as the other Firehouses. You order at one end and then they call you once it's prepared. I ordered my usual garlic bread with a turkey sandwich. I had requested that they toast the bread *before putting on the butter, otherwise it's just soggy bread. He looked at me as if I had 3 heads, but thankfully he followed my request for my order and all was well. It was a good experience, overall. I had a wonderful time at this Firehouse Subs location when I came to pick up my order. I had a TMobile code on the BOGO on the hook & ladder sandwich. That's basically the only time I would come to Firehouse Subs. I placed my order through the mobile app which they change certain things to make it easier. So I got two hook & ladder sandwich to use my code. The pickup time was a little after they open. I found parking easily in the plaza this store is in because nothing around it was open yet. My food wasn't ready when I walked in so I just waited inside of the place. The staff are very nice and asked if I wanted something to drink while I wait. I was just looking at the firefighter gear and decoration inside. Once my sandwich was ready, I took it home to eat. The sandwich is great, it was made exactly to how I customize it. read more

Stopped by the Firehouse subs for a quick bite while in Simi Valley. I tell you what, for a chain sandwich shop they make a damn good hot pastrami! The meat is perfectly warm, cheese melted just the right amount of shredded lettuce and tomatoes. The service is quick service at the counter and they are fast! As far as the sit down restaurant area, it's very cool for kids to see some firefighters in area and all the tools they use. Their food is always fresh, tasty, and filling ! I have tried many a sandwich, hot and cold, and none disappoint ! The owner is friendly and helpful as well, answering any inquiries we have. The shop is spacious and always clean ! The crafters will always happily accommodate any customizations you have to your order. We were trying to pay with a hundred dollar bill and the manager wouldn't accept it. The restaurant had no sign about not accepting large dollar bills. Kept calling us stupid and illiterate because we can't read yet, there was no sign, AT ALL. We paid with card and at first, the tap wasn't working and once again the manager called us stupid, stating we can't read the huge letters that say "tap here" but that's exactly where we were tapping our card. We stopped at the Firehouse Subs in Simi Valley while driving from San Francisco back down to Orange County, and I genuinely can't say enough good things about the experience, especially because of Luis! After a long, exhausting drive, we were tired and honestly just trying to get through the rest of the trip. Luis completely changed the energy the moment we walked in. He was incredibly friendly, funny, and welcoming, and his customer service went way above and beyond what you expect at a quick stop. He made us laugh, kept things upbeat, and somehow managed to make a simple food stop feel like a bright moment in a very long day. First time visiting the Simi Valley Firehouse Subs location. Plenty of parking here & next door to Chipotle. Indoor & outdoor seating available. Service was prompt & polite when taking our order. Sandwiches are made to order & were made in decent time. Ordering ahead on the Firehouse Subs App available. They have a self serve touch screen drink station with countless possibilities. Who knew there were so many flavors of sodas lol. They offer different side options to choose from & an assortment of chips. Miss Vickie's Kettle Cooked Chips definitely has flavor & that crunch factor. We ordered 2 Medium Subs. The Spicy Cajun Chicken & an Italian. Sandwiches come with a pickle slice. I ate half of my sandwich & took the other half home. I appreciate that they cut the Medium Subs in half. Both were warm & bread was toasted. We were happy with our sandwiches. Just an fyi, they don't offer the "Daily Medium Sub" at this location. When I asked, the worker had no idea what I was talking about. I ordered three sandwiches. When I got them home two of them were wrong. I called the store and the manager offered to either remake or refund the sandwiches. He was not overly apologetic. I went back and went to the manager. I said I'm the remake and handed him the sandwiches and receipt with our order. He looked at me annoyed and said okay. He then took the bread out of the toaster and handed it to his sandwich maker. He said something to him in Spanish and then walked away. The sandwich maker made the sandwiches and handed me the bag. I checked the order in the car and they were the saddest looking sandwiches on the planet. The manager never apologized or was even friendly. He seemed very annoyed that we wanted our order right. Though the New York Steamer is my go to choice, I've sampled several of their hot, cold and seasonal sandwiches over time, and each one has been just what I hoped for at the moment. When I've made a special request or customization, they've always been welcomed and delivered with attention to detail.The store and restrooms are clean and there always seems to be ample seating when we've chosen to dine there. Their sandwiches are not the typical subway sandwiches. These are extremely fresh tasting. The bread is fresh and soft and the meat is excellent. This is my 3rd time ordering for delivery. Is it just me or anyone else have the same experiences as my last two times here? I have nothing bad to say about the customer service, ease of placing the order, portions, or price. My main problem has been it seems like the workers just slap my sandwich together with no regards or care. The meat and ingredients were just slopped onto my bread with the condiments all over the bread and container. It is not appealing to get a sub where the bread is saturated in sauce and each bite getting all of the pastrami and then the next all of the veggies. Truly mediocre. Seems that a lot of sandwich places are just doing a carbon copy of a Subway. Just like Capriotti's this is just another run of the mill sandwich chain. Nothing special about it. For everyone who isn't craving a Jersey Mike's sub and wants a QUALITY sub sandwich, Firehouse is the place to visit. Subway is easily the lowest quality sub and Jimmie John's is meh. If you want a quality sub, Firehouse is the way to go. I strongly recommend the Hook & Ladder, which is their signature sub and it always hits the spot. The large is good enough for (2) meals or if you're really hungry. It's smaller than the Giant at Jersey Mike's, but it's definitely larger than Subway. Using their website/app to order can be both a blessing or curse, depending on location and time. The Simi Valley location is consistently more prompt than the Ventura location. Whether you're eating there or taking it to go, they're able to get you in and out very quickly. The location is near Big Lots and Lowe's in the Simi Valley Town Center. read more
