Updating my review because we hired this truck for catering a party. Everyone was doing tacos…read morerecently and although we love tacos, we wanted to do something different. Plus there aren't many taco options for vegetarians. After trying this place at the Encino's Farmers Market, we enquired about catering for my 40th birthday. Price was reasonable and they were available, so we pulled the trigger. Of course, the guest list grew and we had to add more people. Luckily the addition was also reasonable (obviously more than tacos but different and bit more sophisticated). Our party started at 6PM, they arrived at 5:30 and basically just drove their truck into our driveway. They plugged into our outdoor outlet and were ready to rock and roll. Guests started to roll in and just went up to the truck to order. It was easy - no set up, no clean up. Everyone really enjoyed the crepes - we got both savory and sweet. So I personally had a chicken pesto crepe and got a strawberry nutella dessert crepe. Very great experience and appreciate their punctuality, flexibility and yummy crepes!!! They even provided gluten free dough, which was really cool!

I'm always craving crepes and this is the perfect dessert at the Granada Grubfest. They have savory crepes as well but we usually just go for their Nutella with strawberry and banana! Super good and a classic go to. The best part about this truck is that they also serve boba and it's actually good boba! Thai iced tea extra boba with my crepe. Glad to see them almost all the time at the Granada Grubfest! IG: @ammysalamii

*Updated review 12 years and 2 kids later*…read more I used to come here over a decade ago when this place was 24 hours or closed extremely late (I can't remember. Probably faded at the time) and we would come in after clubbing or attending rap battles a few stores down at the record shop. Now Crave has turned into my 6 year olds favorite breakfast spot before dropping him off at school (wow have times changed!). It's located a few blocks from his school so we stop in a little after they open and I let him go crazy on the menu and order whatever he wants. Every time time we arrive, the lady who takes our order is so patient with my son as he tries to figure out what he wants and she asked him normal questions about his order and I just get a kick out of their interactions. The place is usually empty and very clean. They are actually still cleaning up a few things when we arrive, while setting up a few things on the patio. We enjoy sitting on their comfy couches in the corner and if it's nice outside, the patio is a great option (although you are on the corner of Van Nuys Blvd and Ventura Blvd intersection during traffic so there is a lot of honking going on). The food is still great and we've ordered a lot of items on the menu. We've had everything from breakfast burritos, French toast, salmon, to fish tacos, and yogurt parfaits. We honestly haven't had a bad meal yet. They also make smoothies which I haven't had the chance to try yet and it seems like they can honestly make anything you ask them for. They have an assortment of pastries, cookies, and cakes and they have a wide variety of drinks such as smoothies, Italian sodas, milkshakes, boba coffee and tea. Don't even get me started on their lunch options. This is a great place to come to if you have come with a small or large group of people and you need a variety of options to please everyone. This is still a 5 Afro establishment to me, and we will keep coming back to try more food and drinks. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

The staff are friendly and helpful. The place is full of handmade dressings and snacks and pastries for purchase. Cold water, cups, utensils, straws, napkins available at the self serve bar. So fluffy and so many- like 3 or 4. Very filling and delicious. I can't wait to come back to Morning Kitchen for another meal :)

I loved the mayo they used, but felt that the overall taste was overpowered by the tuna, and I also would have liked if the crepe had some crisp to it. My boyfriend got the ham and cheese sandwich, and he didn't like that it came with whole wheat bread, or that the cheese wasn't heated. I got a Thai tea as a drink, and thought it was just okay, mainly because I prefer when the taste is richer. They also served it with a ton of ice that it almost reached the brim. I'd consider coming back for their sweet crepes when I'm in the area again.

The decor and vibe are very well thought out, and so chill. It makes you feel like you've entered a new favorite hole-in-the-wall spot. From the chalk style murals on the wall to the beautiful flowers displays hanging from the rafters, it made us excited for lunch. We came in to eat around 12:30 and the place was moderately busy, but not packed. Over the course of our time eating, it filled in, and most tables filled up. They had offered a Groupon, which was easy to use, and our server was helpful in steering us toward what we could use it for. The food was really excellent. We had the thai fried chicken and waffles, and the crying tiger steak fried rice, and for drinks we had the guava matcha and the chai. When I say it's good, I mean it. The crying tiger steak was like butter, and the fried rice had great texture and flavor. The sauce they served it with was definitely hot, but added heat that I could handle (for reference, I'm a medium-hot guy when at Thai restaurants - not a Thai-hot guy). The portion was great - definitely enough to make you feel like you're getting your money's worth. The fried chicken had some of the best batter I've had in LA, and the chicken itself was super juicy. They brought a kind of yum yum sauce to pair with it, which added a nice bit of extra flavor, too. Topping it off was the waffle, which was fluffy, and had a delicious almost-cakey texture to it. One of my favorite waffles ever. The drinks were also great, especially the guava matcha. If they allow for modifying the sugar level, I'd maybe go to 75%, as it was a little sweeter than I usually do for drinks, but otherwise it was perfect. All in all, we loved this spot, and hope to come back soon.

Definitely one of my favorite dishes here. We also got the tom yum avocado toast, which was pretty good too. It had a nice combination of flavors and was well balanced. The smoked salmon crepe was my least favorite. It was a bit too overpowering with all the sauces combined, so it didn't really work for me. For dessert, we tried the mango mango and it was really good super creamy and the mango was perfectly in season. We also got a Thai tea mocktail, but that one was a little underwhelming. It didn't have a strong Thai tea flavor. The interior is really cute with a floral design, which I liked a lot. The server were attentive and kept checking in on us to make sure everything was good, which I appreciated. Just a heads up since it's a Thai restaurant, a lot of the dishes lean toward the sour side, so if you're not into that it might feel a bit overpowering. Overall, it's a solid spot to try, and I would come back if I'm in the area again.

That noted, it's absolutely worth the nocturnal trek to what feels like the middle of nowhere. The worker was very sweet and directed me to pay via Venmo, then proceeded to prepare my order. It takes a bit to get your order because this place is swamped with mobile orders along with the line it's constantly tending to. Anywho, we got the Nutella and Mango Cheesecakes. I am a Nutella aficionado; I will stay this way until my very last breath unless I develop some random allergy to hazelnuts later into adult life, and even then, that'll be my untimely undoing. This cheesecake was perfection; you can taste the Nutella both in the creamy cheesecake and on top, with a generous drizzle covering the cheesecake; the Oreo crust was thick but not stale or annoyingly hard. 10/10. The Mango Cheesecake: the birthday boy' slice. I prefer raspberry or strawberry toppings when going for fruity cheesecakes, but the mango cheesecake hits the spot; mango chunks on top of a New York cheesecake slice and a buttery, graham cracker crust. I would actually order this myself. 10/10. When it comes to hole-in-the-wall dessert spots, Sweetholic is a win, win. Nice service, reasonably- priced (about $11 a slice, about a whole dollar cheaper than other LA cafes and the staple Cheesecake Factory), and cheesecake that will make you moan into the sweetest of slumbers. Check it out yourself!

I can forgive underwhelming cake. Even "ok" cake is still a treat. But to charge 15 dollars for a slice? I'm sorry, but that's something I can't forgive. The ingredients that go into cake, flour, sugar, chocolate, eggs, etc, are cheap, affordable basic ingredients. Unless they're using the finest imported Belgian chocolate, which they are not, it costs them less than a dollar for a slice of cake. Please I urge you to go anywhere else.
