Have loved the Satellite since I moved to Spokane 3 years ago. When they say the Eggs Benedict is the. EST you'll ever have, they're not lying. It's incredible. Pretty much everything else on their menu I've loved, especially the club on sourdough and the Philly cheesesteak dip. Great drunk food. The Satellite is popular with the college crowd on the weekends. They have cheap food with large portions. You can get a cheeseburger with two grilled cheese sandwiches as buns if you want. I am also a fan that you can cover and smother fries with cheese and gravy. Health food? Oh the Satellite! It is consistent, comfortable, and tasty. It is a Spokane staple. They make good drinks and hearty breakfasts. I have been here for breakfast, brunch, and drunken 2am chow. It always delivers well. There isn't much else to say. I supposed I should add that there is always great people watching. The service staff has also always been great. This was a regular spot for me a few years ago, and it will likely be again now that we have moved back to Spokane. read more

For starters, this place has great early 90's grunge style ala Crocodile Cafe in Seattle. I was so prepared to be completely in love. However, it was on of those meals where everything went wrong. Having grown up in the restaurant business, I know that when something goes wrong it usually seems to all happen to one table. That was the case here. I will skip the details. However the redeeming bit was the service. They were good to begin with, but when we told them how we felt about things, they bent over backwards to discount, fix and make things better. They clearly wanted our business. I don't live in Spokane, but next time I am there visiting my friends I will be sure to be back and give them another try. The food was good but nothing exceptional compared to some of the amazing eateries in Spokane. The space is cramped and really just ends up being a greasy spoon diner in a lot of ways. We stopped here after flying from New Mexico and were pleasantly surprised to find this little cool place to eat breakfast. The place is on the smaller side and a bit outdated but we were promptly welcomed, seated and offered a cup of coffee. The breakfast we ordered was very good. The waitress was very friendly and gave us some tips of places to visit while in Spokane. I would definitely stop again for breakfast. Don't be deterred by the looks from either in or outside. Exactly what you want in a greasy-spoon diner. Atmosphere is awesome and ther staff is very attentive, friendly and efficient. Portions are huge so if you're like me and like to add sides in a "tour of the griddle" opt for a basic menu option because lots will end up left on the plate. One minor complaint (not significant enough to drop from 5 down to 4 stars) the griddle staff (we sat at the bar directly across from them) never changed gloves during our 30 minute stay. They were very busy going from station to station, prep to cooking, back room to diner counter all in the one pair of gloves. I grew up in a time when nobody bothered at all with that so it really doesn't phase me but some might be worried. Personally as a former food worker I'd rather just see them hit the sink every so often, the blue gloves seem clunky. Still, great experience, 5 stars. read more

Whitney took care of us with a smile, made sure we are hydrated, and even remembered all of our drink orders the second night. Two things are abundant in Spokane: restaurants that end in "Grill" (or "Grille", depending on how fancy they're looking to be), and restaurants that end in "Diner." Satellite, obviously, falls into the latter category. You should have an idea of what you're getting into, food-wise - there's a menu chocked full of standard American fare like burgers and breakfast food. On my visit I went with a buffalo French dip sandwich paired with some fries that were cheap and pretty ordinary, but that's okay. It's maybe three stars when taken on culinary skill alone, but the extra star comes in the fact that Satellite is one half diner and one half dive bar, meaning there's extra character to spare both from the half-crazy waitresses and the standard bar crowd. Have a couple (or more than a couple) drinks, and when the night starts getting late, kick things into overdrive with a big old plate of bacon and eggs. Ron F'n Swanson would be proud. read more

Once I did find the diner it has a cool vibe with the stools and the bar. Artwork inside is a little demented. But the food prep just feet away is a blast. A great place to hang out after a night of drinking. I went here at about 3:30 AM and the place has a great atmosphere, not LOUD but defiantly not low key either. A very cool mix of all sorts of people. I would have to say that I would never probably go here regularly, strictly for a night of partying. :) read more

This place is within walking distance of my work, and being in the mood for breakfast at noon sounded good to me. I have heard great things about this place so i decided why not. I cannot remember what the name of my dish was but it had its scrambled eggs, hash browns, and two German sausages w/ toast. There was nothing left on my plate, i ate it all. The sausages had a hint of spice that i liked and a nice aroma having come straight off the grill. It is nice to see that the food is cooked within viewing distance along the bar stool, seating area so that is a plus. they do have a bar inside as well but, no outdoor seating. All of the staff members there as they passed by my booth were very friendly and all acknowledged with a friendly " HI" or "How are you", i liked that. Will definitely come in again. read more

Greasy diner with a pub attached. Came in for brunch and the food was decent. I got a turkey club and it got the job done. Nothing special, just typical diner food. Good fries! This is a great breakfast / brunch place near downtown. The food is excellent, the service is exceptional and they have a full bar for Mimosas, or Bloody Mary's or whatever you might be looking for for brunch beverages! Eggs were cooked perfectly, hashbrowns were some of the best I've ever had and the bacon....thick cut, cooked well. Delicious! I'm new to the area so was happy to find this place and we've been twice in the last month. We are sure to return! We've lived in spokane almost 9 years now and had never eaten here despite numerous recommendations by Co workers. We had an appt downtown the other day and had some time I kill. I suggested we finally check out the Satellite, so we did, and we'll be back!! We sat at the counter, I ordered the typical diner fare. It was hot, served quickly and delish.
