This is some of the best food I have ever had, and that's coming from the food capital of the United States (Portland Oregon). I got the billy breen, which if you haven't seen it, is two grilled cheeses as the buns with a cheese patty, bacon, and steak fries in between. It tasted amazing and I came with a group of 8 including myself. Most people got it and had zero complaints about it, everyone enjoyed them. The friends that didn't order the billy breen had some bites and also agreed it was amazing. I've been going to this diner for at least 8 years and it ROCKS! The staff is amazing, the food is excellent and the service is impeccable. Place is open into the wee hours for after bar time breakfast--artsy, indie, cool crowd kinda place...mom and pop can fit in as well! Has a nice sports-like bar attached, but separate from restaurant area. Food for vegie-lovers like me, or good ol' greasy biscuits and gravy that are the best in town. All of the staff and management work hard to make everyone happy. Oh, and for the late night crowd--don't start any problems. You'll be subjected to VERY large bouncers pulling you out by your ear or other body part. Not kidding. :-) Give them a shot if you haven't been there! I really enjoyed this diner while staying in Spokane! I loved the location, we stumbled upon this while walking around. I ordered the breakfast burrito which was delicious, but I especially liked their cinnamon swirl toast. The staff was very friendly and we sat down very fast. I ordered the bacon swiss burger with the beer battered fries. Both were veryyy good! The burger was juicy and they toasted the bun so it didn't fall apart as I ate it. The best time of day to come here is at 2:00 AM after the bars have closed. So much fun! Also, it's the only time of day I've ever been. The place is packed. You wait in line. You squeeze into a tiny booth, and you gorge on yummy classics. The menu is enormous! It also is illustrated with many pictures. Gordon Ramsey would have something to say for sure. I love that there are several vegetarian (and can be made vegan) options as well. It's a fun, tongue-in-cheek dinner with amazing prices and fun staff. It is really sad that these people that work here don't get paid holiday pay for memorial day. I think with how the people here work so well, provide not only a clean place to eat but also excellent good. I'm surprised they do so. Good workers need to be supported. The food is amazing. The food here is very good, great for breakfast and late night dining after a night out in downtown. The reason I am leaving 3 stars is because of a late night experience here. There was a bit of a line to get in the door (because this place is popular) and the wind chill picked up pretty significantly. There were a few more people in front of us in line, and it became freezing cold so I asked the front doorman if there was anyway we could wait inside, not cut in line, because I was extremely cold. Instead of saying "no" politely the guy at the door was incredibly rude, snapped at me in a condescending tone and said "NO. You think I'm not freezing and you think they aren't cold?!" Thanks guy. It was a simple question, and even thought I had a few drinks I know I asked politely and didn't imply that I should be let in before anyone, just asked if there was anyway to wait inside. That being said, the angry door guy is prime example of why people not from Spokane think negatively of the people. read more

I am infatuated with this place, from drunk nights to lunches dinners and breakfast I have never been disappointed. I've had burgers eggs Benedict(100% the best I've had) chicken cordon blue with inhouse honey mustard or sweet chilli mayo, omg ymmmm. Omletes gigantic. Had breakfast there this morning,1/1/18, and although there was a wait it was explained, and the servers were very attentive during the process. The staff was EXTREMELY pleasant, the coffee amazing and the Food, the star of the show, was just a perfect way to start the New Year off right. I've been here four times now. I live in olympia so I only in Spokane once or twice a year. Since discovering the Satellite Diner it's become a must stop destination for me and my family. Got the Satellite scramble with gravy and cheese to go and was not disappointed! The cashier was very accommodating in taking my order and getting the food out to me quickly. The scramble was a hearty helping of the various ingredients that made the signature scramble (eggs, German sausage, hash browns, cheese and gravy). I frequented the Satellite about 3 times per week and loved the soup, but the best server moved away. Since his departure, I have been ignored, insulted, and barely served by more than one "server". I literally had the worst experience ever. Because of the two people before me they treated me as the people before me. Terrible service and mediocre food at best. When we arrived we were promptly seated and handed menus. We quickly decided on omelettes with fruit, one side of jalapeño candied bacon, and 2 coffees. Our waitress refilled our water and coffee 3 times, and never mentioned our food. At the 40 minute mark, we still hadn't received our food so my husband asked how much longer which our waitress replied " 6 minutes" we waited another 10 before my husband was about to walk out. I asked him to just give it another 5 minutes, since we had already waited almost an hour. So he set his phone with the timer on the table. When our waitress walked by she said nothing but looked at the timer clicking away, and quickly brought two cups of fruit, and walked away. We did not eat the fruit, instead when the timer went off we left $5 on the table for the coffee and got up to leave. Magically at the same time our waitress asked us if we wanted to stay for our meal, as she was "buzzed" that our food was ready. We decided to stay and eat our meal. The fruit was cold but soggy, clearly it had been in the refrigerator a day or two. The candied bacon was a disappointment. It was diced bacon cooked with canned jalapeños, the kind you find served with nachos, and the "candied" was nothing more than a drizzle of maple syrup...overpriced crap! The omelette was nothing worth coming back for, a typical diner omelet you would find at Denny's. We will not be returning! read more

If if weren't for the drunks from next door, and cheap food, this place would be out of business. Rarely have I been anywhere where the staff feel it is their prerogative to disagree with the customer's opinions on the food and debate them on the matter. Rude does not begin to approximate the contempt the staff have for customer satisfaction or quality of service. In fact, I can only guess that dealing with the drunks next door has made the staff militantly disagreeable to customers.
