The store was dark. The employees were low spirit. When we went in, the place was not crowded, and it's only in the middle of weekend day. They were just standing there while we were staying back far away tried to read a difficult menu on a big blackboard with colorful items filled up the whole board. They weren't trying to stock up anything while waiting. When we finally decided what we wanted, brownie was out, ice cream flavor we ordered, the employee tried very hard to get the last scoop out of the empty bucket. I would never come to this store again. Besides, I think the bucket ice cream I got at the supermarket was as good as the store, if not better without the sad experience we over-paid for. This is a counter story for the event addressed by Julie V, as I was there also. Julie's guest was not addressed by this employee until guests in line said they were uncomfortable with Julie's guest not wearing a mask. Be aware this event did not unfold like Julie said. Her guest was rude and argumentative and pushed this family's anti mask agenda on the whole shop and on this teen girl who was working hard and swamped. How sad that a teen girl had to intervene when adults can't be adults. Please, don't come back then Julie. We love this shop and you and your entitled, rude, anti mask sentimented family ruined the whole atmosphere in that shop. We went here tonight around 8:45, were told their internet was down, so they could only accept cash. Then we went walking around in 108 degree heat for an ATM close by, which took about 15 minutes. When we came back with the cash, the same girl as before told us that they stopped selling flights of ice cream after 9pm. The time was 9:04pm. I asked her to make an exception since she saw we were in there earlier and I had told her I would be back, and she would not make an exception, she only apologized. This made us all angry and frustrated that she didnt care, and saw the samw type of bad attitude with other customers trying to get ice cream. We left angry and will not be back. Finally tried this place and wasn't impressed. They no longer had a mask requirement, so the place was packed with a family of about 20 walking around with no masks. To each their own, but I'm just pointing that out for people still uncomfortable with it. I got the blueberry cheesecake and my husband got chocolate peanut butter. I wanted to provide this feedback for the owners of Screamery so they can understand how our family was treated. Last night (July 9 at your Chandler location) around 8 pm we had a very unpleasant encounter with your staff. Let me preface that we've been to your location before and have even invited friends to join us for an ice cream treat there so it wasn't our first time. We go out as a family for ice cream treats often because our kids request it. We enjoy your ice cream as there's some flavors for everyone but unfortunately we won't be back because your staff didn't value us as customers and were rude during our interaction. We are a family of five - with 3 young kids, they get excited about ice cream but last night they were even more excited as we were informed you reinstated giving out samples. I was limiting my kids to trying two flavors and then decide on what to buy. Your staff must have gotten irritated with us and said there's a limit per family and this would be the last sample. I said ok and finished our purchase of 4 ice cream cones. My husband who is a big ice cream fan, refrained from ordering something because he was so put off by her comment and felt that she didn't treat us kindly. It wasn't the limiting of the samples but more of her tone and attitude. I later asked my husband, if he didn't get anything was because of her rudeness. He said yeah - he doesn't want to support a business that doesn't value all customers, big or small. So I decided to ask for a manager or someone in charge, your head cashier let me explain the situation and afterwards offered me a free ice cream for my husband (which he did not take or want). But within my discussion with the head cashier, she was very hesitant to offer me an email for me to voice my complaint and even suggested if I wanted to reach the owners, that I drive to Tucson to do so. At first, I was trying to explain how the attitude and treatment made my husband feel but as I was talking with the head cashier, that same staff member was very condescending with me by saying "have a nice day" but not in which you would expect that statement to sound if it was genuine or sincere. It was said in a tone and manner of, get out of my store. So bottom line is that your staff did not make our family feel welcomed at your store at all and in fact it left us with a bad taste of how you run your business. Your staff alienated our family and for that reason, we'll be taking our business to an ice cream shop that enjoys and values children in their store. read more

Stopped by after dinner on a rare date night for my husband and I. After many samples, I got Sweet Cream Honeycomb and Ooey Gooey Buttercake. My husband got Bourbon Brittle and Double Chocolate Cherry. All the samples we tried were good, and we tried a bunch. The 2 employees that night were very knowledgeable, helpful and patient as we were trying samples. They offered suggestions based on what we like and what is most popular. So I've been traveling to Tucson a few weeks a year for work and one of my guilty pleasures is stoping in at the Screamery for ice cream. My favorites are the Honeycomb Cream, Bourbon Brittle, and the Rough at Sea. But now, my guilty pleasure is right around the corner. This is not good...for my waistline. The review reflects the ice cream! Simply amazing! ZERO STARS to the service!!!! I came about two weeks ago with my family, 4 of us. And we waited about 25 minutes in line when there was only one family of maybe 5 or 6 ahead of us! They had two people working but should of just had none! They were slower than snails I swear! I'm very understanding of most situations and problems as I've been a manager in customer service for years and have worked with many inexperienced 16 year olds but man they must have not been trained properly or something! We actually watched as two sets of couples gave up on waiting behind us and left! Then finally when it was our turn they separated and one employee helped us and the other helped the mom and kids behind us. This left it awkward for my family because three of us were done and ready to eat at the table while the last of us were still at the counter while it took seriously like 10 minutes to make a banana split! Awkward because we didn't want to finish eating ours before the last of us even sat down but it's ice cream so you can't really wait around all of us ended up being finished before she even sat down! Completely unacceptable service! We are willing to try another time so I'm hoping it takes a 180 and goes smoothly or we'll just have to forget about the new shop in town :( read more

I'm giving two stars more for business practices than for customer service or quality of the ice cream. First, my one daughter asked for a hot fudge sundae with a cookie base. They said they were "out of" hot fudge and whip cream. Huh? How do you run out of something so important? This is your business, should you possibly go get more? But ok, so my daughter basically had a scoop of vanilla with sprinkles and the cookie base was completely inedible because it was hard as a rock, a fact that we did mention to the staff, who said, nicely I'll add, that they were aware and they don't know why it gets like that and they can't microwave them because they explode. Again, huh? Why serve this then? And should we get charged for a sundae if we actually only got a scoop of ice cream? Now to my other daughters order - a basic banana split. You all know what goes on a banana split, so perhaps you could've mentioned the hot fudge and whipped cream "outage" before making the split, therefore giving her an opportunity to order something else. But no. She got a mostly melted split but she ate it. The "sundae" went in the trash btw. I'm going to add, we came in 10 minutes before closing, and this was pure speculation on my daughters part, who works in food as well, but it seemed more likely they ran out in front and didn't want to go in the back to get more because they were about to close. Happens all the time at my daughters work and its just so unlikely that they would run out of such an important staple. Again, just speculation. read more

We stopped in here last week on a weeknight after dinner and we absolutely loved it. It was a weeknight so it was pretty slow. The gentleman behind the counter was patient with us as we tried to figure out what we wanted. We ended up with a flight. Our favorites were the honey sweet cream, banana cream pie, and pumpkin spice. The strawberry mango sorbet was a night, lighter touch to go with the other ones we got too (chocolate and Mississippi mud pie). They were all delicious and we left super happy and full!! read more

After seeing the mixed reviews, I went in skeptical. I am so glad I tried the Screamery, as downtown Chandler was lacking for a good ice cream place. The ice cream was smooth and creamy, and service great. I had the "award winning" sweet cream with honey comb, and it was unique and super delicious. They have a lot of variety and unusual flavors, so there will be some research in figuring out what flavors are the best. This place is going to be super crowded thanks to a great location and great product once it warms up. The line was out the door as it was on a cool night, but fortunately it was well staffed so it went fast. The crew was very knowledgeable about each flavor, as they described each sample they gave people. Chandler, we're in luck with this one! read more

We have a diversity of ice cream shops here in SoCal but they don't compare to the quality and taste of the ice cream I had here. I'm still thinking about it. Bad experience with app-based delivery service! Ordered several items when estimated time for delivery was 34 mins. After items were paid for, the changed the delivery for 3 hours later. Then, they emailed (not called as I asked) to cancel some items because they ran out. I tried calling to purchase a replacement item, but they wouldn't answer the phone. The app service even tried to call and could not get an answer! Waste of time and money! Good ice cream but not worth the hassle. read more

I placed my order through doordash they said they took their last order by 9pm and my order was placed before 8:40pm and said it would be here by about 9:30, then when the door dasher arrived at the ice cream shop they told him it would be a twenty minute wait for 2 ICE CREAMS and the shop didn't even close until 11pm tonight, after he had waited the twenty minutes the workers at the shop cancelled my order and when I proceeded to call the shop to see why my order was cancelled they answered the phone multiple times and hung up right away without speaking to me at all .... this is completely ridiculous and uncalled for as the restaurant is still open another 45 minutes as I'm writing this review, and they are serving other customers.... read more

The two teenagers at the counter tonight @6:30pm 2/6/22 were very rude...especially the girl. I brought my family in for a treat and were shocked at the bad attitude/customer service. Based on the reviews I guess this is a very common occurrence at this location. We ordered a brownie Hot fudge Sundae and the young man said they were out of hot fudge. I said "ok well then let me see what else you have". We were looking at the menu and he asked us twice what ice cream we wanted on the hot fudge sundae. I said "I thought you didn't have hot fudge?" and he said "yeah we don't". I said "ok we'll take a look at the menu so we can see what we want". After looking at the menu we then told him that we really were wanting a hot fudge sundae so we decided to pass this time since they were out. The girl behind him apparently put a brownie in a dish to make the sundae even though we didn't order it because there was no hot fudge. She immediately got very visibly upset and aggressively threw it in the trash and started to mumble something to him about us. She had a major attitude. I said that I didn't understand the attitude because we didn't even order the brownie sundae since the young man had told us they were out of hot fudge. The young man started mouthing off saying that she had already made our order and that we can go somewhere else. As we were walking out the door the girl started literally yelling at us to "leave the store, just leave, just leave the store". We said nothing else and finished walking out. Once outside our 2 year old turned to us and said "those people weren't nice to us". We agree with our 2 year old. I am really hoping that a manager/owner will see this and will watch the video footage (hopefully there is some) so you can confirm everything I am saying. We own a few local businesses and understand the importance of customer service and it seems that this location has a major issue with customer service that needs to be addressed. read more
