We are back, finally, coffee latte's were awesome, my wife got the pancakes and I had the healthy sandwich. The pancakes were average and the fruit were a very small amount, I mean no reason to offer fruit. My wife did not even finish one of the 3 pancakes, my sandwich was good, needed more seasoning but that was an easy fix with salt and pepper. This place is still cute as always but I think they need a bigger place to handle the response. I think we will be back but I do not think my wife would score so high. She said 2 from here view point but we liked the other items. On the menu so can't hit them that hard for one failed item. read more

Dipped in on Friday mid-morning and this place was busy! After getting my food, I can see why. Thankfully the staff is super efficient and the line moves quickly. I had the Hungry Pirate breakfast with eggs (however you want them cooked), incredibly fluffy and delicious pancakes, and a protein (sausage or bacon or you can pick avacado slices). My girlfriend had the Avacado Toast & Sausage Cheddar Balls. The sausage balls were delicious and next time I'd forgo the sausage on my platter for another protein, they were that good. I should have asked for more butter for the pancakes but they were great on their own with some syrup. This is a no frills restaurant but they do breakfast extremely well. read more

So happy to have found this Gem of a restaurant, as soon as you enter your greeted by the entire staff. You must read the entire menus as they have an snacking selection of all foods. I ordered a breakfast burrito suer delicious it has cheese, eggs, delicious sausage, home fries, veggies and some jalapeño. They offer a salsa on the side make sure to try it, super fresh and tasty. We also ordered fries on the side they were made to perfection! My assistant ordered the breakfast platter with toast, fresh avocado and it was fresh and made to perfection. For dessert I took home some of the carrot cookie it Was Delicious!! If you live in Greenville NC make sure to stop by, I can guarantee this will be your go to restaurant once a week. At the counter we were given menus and the staff was so kind and patient, there is a lot of variety on the menu and we could not decide of what to get, so the staff gave us recommendations. The food came out almost immediately and tasted great! We were so surprised at how fast everything came out and how great it tasted! I highly recommend upgrading any dish with grits to cheesy grits! The vibe of the cafe was so relaxed and inviting, we needed up staying a lot longer after finishing our food. The tables have chalkboard paint on them and we ended up drawing and playing games while we ordered more coffee and drinks. I am so glad I made it in to this cafe and will definitely be back. It was a disappointing experience. All items (except the coffee) were cold on arrival. We won't be back. Order #1: Eggs over medium with bacon and toast. Eggs were under-cooked (more like over easy). Order #2: Eggs over easy with sausage and toast. Eggs were under-cooked (lots of runny white). Order #3: Pancakes with a side of sausage. Pancakes were very thick and doughy in the middle. Other observations: 1. The toast was barely "toast", and it was floppy and unappetizing. When we asked for butter, it was solid, and the toast wasn't warm enough to melt the butter. There wasn't enough of the bread provided to sop up the egg yolks. 2. The sausage was round, golf-ball size, and not worth $4.00. Especially when organic ground pork retails for $5.99 a pound. 3. The "Cheese Grits" were cold, seemed to be made with either yogurt or milk and were slightly sweet, not worth $4.00. Like above, grits are very inexpensive. (The way they were prepared was an affront to my Southern sensibilities. There needs to be a disclaimer or a warning to people when they order them. It never occurred to me that any restaurant in the south would do this to grits!) 4. The "place your order, pay and sit-down system" is inefficient for the layout of the establishment. The menus are too small to read and it's not clear when new customers walk in that they should take the menus, be seated, decide what they want and then go up to the counter and order / pay. They do that in British pubs, and the system is well organized. There is not enough room during the rush to accommodate people coming in the door, lining up, or scouting for a table. 5. The mean delay time between the electronic order being taken, food being prepared in the back (based on the order system) and then delivered to the table was longer than it needed to be with eight "front" wait staff. This resulted in cold food. There needs to be someone assigned to watch when orders come up to make sure that there is no delay - and that the bottom of the plate is warm to the touch. read more

I was quite underwhelmed by my experience at The Scullery. We had about a 25 minute wait on a saturday around noon, not too bad. The hostess was a sweetheart. The front of the restaurant has a nice atmosphere because of the light from the windows, but the back was not ideal. Once we sat down, it took a while for anyone to come to us. The service was consistently bad throughout our visit. I asked for a tiny bit of cream in my cold brew and the thing white basically white. For breakfast I ordered the healthy breakfast sandwich and a side of hash browns. The food runner brought us our meals, and once he dropped them off, our server never came over to ask if our food was okay, or if we needed ketchup/hot sauce or anything else. It wasn't terribly busy inside either. My sandwich was good enough. The hashbrowns weren't hashbrowns. They were undercooked homefries drowned in an oily pile of cheese. My boyfriend wasn't a huge fan of his meal either. We also had fruit flies around our table which is never pleasant. I would come back and perhaps try the lunch dishes, or some ice cream next time. read more
