I live a little under an hour inland from Lincoln City. Weekday visits generally occur in the afternoon following work, thus requiring a meal, but most of the time I want to be hanging out on the sand, not sitting in a restaurant. Thus, I've become pretty knowledgeable about the takeout options in the area, and there are several good ones, but my go to is a sandwich from Sea Gulp. On my first visit we arrived to find several other couples waiting on orders (it's clear this is where the locals go). It took some time to locate the order sheets as they are in a bin on a little table to the right as you walk in the front door, but it was empty. They utilize reusable sheets so had to clean some to get them ready for the next customers, just ask the cashier if you don't spot any. Anyways, once we placed our order it probably took 20 or so minutes for the sandwiches. Not too bad, but we were rarin' to get out to the beach, so it felt long! We did use the time to wander the store for other goodies and there is a lot to discover. Of course, they have the usual (and unusual!) snacks and drinks, but there are also games and souvenirs, and all sorts of supplies you might have forgotten you'd need for your beach day like towels, SPF, and toys. The employees were (and always are) very nice and once we got our sandwiches we headed right across the street (so convenient!) to D River parking and found a piece of driftwood on which to eat our dinner. I am not a particular lover of sandwiches, but theirs are darn good! My favorite is the Italian Sub with almost all the veggies, but I have tried the pastrami and turkey as well and liked them too. They've got a great variety of bread options and do breakfast sammies and burritos too. Now we just call and order about 15 minutes before we arrive and the timing works perfectly. For about $10 you get a fresh, big (honestly, I usually can't finish them) meal that will keep you satisfied and fueled for your sandy adventures. As they are so customizable it is a great way to get something everyone will be happy with. And since they are located in a convenience store you can pick up drinks, dessert, and or anything you might have forgotten. There is seating out front if you'd rather eat there. The BEST sandwiches anywhere! They make excellent sandwiches. These are too big for one normal/average person. Plan to split it with someone or save half for later or the next day. The French Dip is to die for. Absolutely delish! Roast beef on marble rye. Yum! The Reuben. Too good to share. Whatever you get , you will be hooked. They stuff these sandwiches! Even overstuff them (including the meat)! They are honestly so generous it will shock you. This is consistent; they are not cheapos. We've been getting at least a sandwich a week for years. Never once disappointed. Not a single time! This is my FAVORITE sandwich shop ever and anywhere. Better than Jersey Mike's! The shop is fantastic. While they are very quick making the sandwiches, I often wish I had a few more minutes to browse the extensive collections of keepsakes, games, snacks, and more. This spot is a great little coastal vibe that is a convenience store, gift shop & sandwich spot all in one. I got the teriyaki chicken sandwich & while it didn't blow my hair back, it was a solid sandwich & was definitely worth the price. I was able to customize it to my preference & it didn't change the base price ($10). For someone that doesn't eat large meals in one sitting, half of it with chips was plenty for a full meal, so I got 2 meals out of it. There could have been more chicken - it was a little skimpy on the amount of meat. That being said, I will definitely go back & try another sandwich option the next time I'm in the area! Talk about the best location in town for a sandwich shop! Right across the street from the beach with outside seating. Great little shop with all the things you need for a great day at the beach, including a sandwich counter. Made fresh to order, with good quality deli meat, produce and amazing bacon. I really like the "create your own" laminated ordering cards and then you wonder the store, find your chips and drink (maybe even a cheeky lunch beer). As mentioned before good quality options, but they hoggie roll is one you would get at the grocery store, if they had better bread this would be a five star for sure. This sandwich shop is such a random hole in the wall but for ten dollars, I just had one of the best french dips. The sandwich was LOADED with meat and the hoagie roll was actually so good. This is the best 'convenience' store in Lincoln City. Right across from D River and the most popular kite beach, located on first street, kind of small, but wow it has so much to offer. It's in a tiny 'strip mall' area with two other stores that are worth going in. The lady was super friendly and with all her recommendations- I wish I could buy everything in the store. I settled with a strawberry banana smoothie from their fancy milkshake machine, but I thought about going back to try one of their sandwiches and kick myself that I didn't. I was on foot looking for coffee and settled in this store with lots of other goodies I purchased. I thought about the milkshake machine as well all night and couldn't believe no one wanted to drive to get one - they didn't know what they were missing out. When you first walk into the Sea Gulp you might expect it to be a cafe, or deli. It is not. It is a mix of convenience store, lottery center, and believe it or not bitcoin dealership or what you call a place where you get bitcoin. (I don't even really know what bitcoin is) whatever else it is Sea Gulp is the home of the best sandwiches between Florence and Lincoln City. The process is go in, grab a sandwich card, fill it out to customize your sandwich, turn it in, and wait for your food to be prepared. It's usually kinda busy so you might have to wait a bit. (We've never had to wait more than 20 minutes) but the wait is worth it!! If you have never tasted what caring tastes like then you will. Get your food to go because this isn't an "eat here" kind of place. The owners are the staff I think and they are amazing. Very friendly and I believe they want to make the sandwich you have in your imagination in the real world. I highly recommend. read more

They make all kinds of other drinks and food, too. You can find everything that a convenience store has and more. The owners are so nice that it makes going in that much more worth it. Bad. It's mostly the woman who works there but be warned (which I wasn't) that a kite purchased can't be returned even if it's defective. I went in the day before and purchased 2 kites from the gentleman and he was knowledgeable and pleasant about the kites and their abilities. I came back later and purchased some toys from the business next door and then decided to get some ice cream so I went into the kite stores grocery, convenience side. The guy rang me up then the "rude" lady told him to charge me for the same toys I'd just purchased next door. She basically accused me of stealing a $12 toy in front of customers and wouldn't back down until I told her I could get the woman next door to vouch for me. I guess they get a LOT of toy thieves in there (rolls eyes). We took the 2 kites I purchased out to the beach and one worked like a CHAMP. Both 1 string kites, very straightforward. The other flew to the left and hit the ground repeatedly and never flew straight. Upon inspection one of the support rods was shorter than the other which is probably why it wouldn't fly. I took it back the next day and got the "rude" lady who said all of their kites fly and if I just waited an hour and a half the kite guy would be there to "show me" how to fly it. Super condescending. A single string kite. Really? They don't give refunds or exchanges as apparently every kite is PERFECTLY made (she must work at the factory inspecting each one with her beady eye that can also spot a toy thief a mile away Lol). Long story, there are way too many kite stores along the coast to waste time and money ($40) on rude clerks. It's a shame the last person we had contact with as we left Lincoln city was such a bitter snark. read more

Fantastic sandwiches! They have you fill out an erasable card for your order, checking off the items you want on your sandwich. The gentleman who was at the front counter and took our order was so pleasant, smiling the whole time! He told us our order was the 6th, so it would be a wait. I don't think we waited 15 minutes. We took them back to our hotel for dinner. Our orders were a bit off but they were so delicious that we didn't care! The hoagie rolls were so soft, everything was fresh. Love this store! This is more than just a convenience store. They have extremely well thought out inventory. The owner is warm and friendly as are the other employees. She serves fresh hot food. I'll be adding some photos as well. Excellent choices of coffees, soft drinks, juice, beer, wine. In addition she has a machine where you can have smoothies protein shakes milkshakes... All fresh. One of my favorite things is called an Italian soda. If you've never had one this is the place to try it. These are also freshly made, not in a can or bottle. There are several flavors to choose from. The storefront is very pretty and there is excellent parking, which is sometimes hard to find in Lincoln City Oregon. Trust me. Full disclosure, I was panicked upon entering this quaint little store that has everything you could possibly need. My key fob had died and I went in looking for a battery (right before close. Literally minutes before). I had very little cash on me...because lack of access to get into my vehicle without the alarm going off, and the owners were gracious enough to give me some batteries.
