There are lots of big box pet stores in the area, but I'm making the assumption that a smaller local shop likely treats their animals better and hopefully sources more ethically too. In any case, I'd rather shop local when I can and the prices are competitive. I called to see if they had any gerbils available and Aela let us know that they had some males in store. She said to ask for her when we came by. About an hour later, we dropped by and found Aela. She brought the gerbils out in their enclosure and was great not only with the animals, but my very excited children as well. She answered our questions and seemed to really enjoy her job, which makes it so much more fun for everyone involved. She took care of getting them in a box with some bedding and sent us off with smiles all around. I'm so thankful that Denny's is part of the neighborhood, and for great employees like Aela who make the experience fun.

There always seems to be a new excuse. Today's experience was the final straw. We had booked a bath, brushing, paw pad trim, and sanitary trim. After we arrived, we were told the groomer assigned to us couldn't complete the service because our dog's fur was "compacted" (not matted) and we'd have to reschedule with someone else. What didn't make sense is that the same groomer was apparently able to do the sanitary trim but somehow couldn't trim any other part of his body because of his coat. At this point, it feels like they look for reasons to avoid completing appointments. Every time we bring in our large dog, the staff seem visibly frustrated before the appointment even begins. If your salon isn't equipped or willing to work with large breeds, just be upfront about it instead of repeatedly canceling or making excuses. The staff haven't been welcoming, the salon appears consistently overbooked, and the customer experience has been incredibly disappointing. I can't recommend this location for grooming.

They are always willing to help, and are great at helping us find what we need and making sure the baths are ready to use. The store is independently owned and operated. It's a franchise. The two working there, one of them seemed like the store manager, were helpful & took the time to ask what I was looking for...as I haven't been to this location in some years! I had mentioned about how construction on that block has changed things temporarily & they were kind enough to offer walking the bag to the car for me, which was thoughtful. There are businesses you visit, and then there are places that become part of your family's story. All The Best falls firmly into the latter category. Since moving to Ballard, our dog was a regular visitor. He'd shamelessly help himself to treats from the bins, tail wagging with pure delight at his "successful" heist-- the cashiers were always so gracious. And on top of that, the store regularly hosts wonderful community events (like the wading pool they set up during farmers market days.) But it was on our dog's final day that the staff last Wednesday morning truly showed us the greatest kindness. We brought him in one last time, and they let him steal treats to his heart's content. Without being asked, they prepared a goodie bag filled with food and treats he might enjoy, and they gave me forget-me-not seeds. In a moment when I was completely broken, they showed such genuine compassion and understanding. Those treats kept Teddy calm and happy in his last moments, and I will never forget the incredible kindness of their gesture. If you're looking for a pet store where your furry family members will be truly welcomed and cherished, where the staff genuinely cares about your pet's happiness, and where you'll be treated like family, this is your place. They really should talk to the vendor they are receiving these from as they are obviously selling pig ears with a lot of fat or grease that is causing constipation.

He loves getting to see his dog friends once a week. Amanda also accommodates our ever changing schedules and if a work meeting occurs during pick up she will come into our apartment and get Henry! Henry gallops to her and squeaks with excitement every time she sees her letting me know he is so excited for his weekly adventure. The pups are out for 4-5 hours each time and extremely tired when they get back. This service has been a game changer for us.
