What's not to love! I've been cooking all of Baci's food since we got him at little tiny 9 weeks old pup. It gets to be a lot sometimes especially when I have to leave him at Rover /dog hotel on trips. Literally took over entire full size fridge for 8-12 days of food, snacks and treatos! Boiled eggs! So much stuff. Till these guys came for a cooking demo at our indoor dog park last year. And that was it. We have a new favorite spot. They cook for us! Woof woof. And Baci loves his meal/meals. My last trip back in March,2020 was for a good 3 weeks. Needless to say, we got all our meals from here. Love the variety of flavors in meals. And their homemade snacks/ jerky! Chicken! Beef! Pure meat jerky. Worth every penny. And it also helps that this place is a stone throw away from us. Woof woof. Baci loves the visit. I love the food option. It's a win win!!! I picked up some treats here the other day during covid-19. I appreciate the social distancing measures they'd been taking such as ordering over the phone and curbside pick up. Well, technically there is no curb because that's a strict bus lane only, so you should keep going up the street, make the first right turn and there's a 30 minute loading zone spot next to the cvs. I called in the order, they took my gift card info, and I went to the Slu location. Called again to let them know I was there, and they handed me my order hassle free. Full disclosure, my dog is on Science Diet as recommended by our family vet, but we use JFFD food as a topper or treats. Plus, the JFFD treats are very good quality, and so we stocked up on them this time. I got a 18 oz back of chicken breasts ($32.95) and several bags of Salmon bark treats ($12.95) for a 5 oz bag. These are his high value treats, and we can get some solid training in with these. (My dog is actually not that picky though, and he's young and healthy.) Especially during this quarantine, we are really upping our training nowadays. He learned to back up and follow me between my legs just last night with these. read more

I have an elderly dog who has not really been wanting to eat lately. She was diagnosed with cancer and stopped eating for several days. Naturally, I felt like the end was near. Heartbroken to see her starving herself to death, I decided to go to Just food for dogs to see if there was something that maybe would entice her. Lauren suggested that I try the boxed Beef and russet potato meal. Lo and behold, it worked! Lauren was so compassionate and wonderful at a time when I was absolutely reeling over my pup. We first learned about Just Food for Dogs when I had been living in California. That's quite some time ago. We were bouncing between dog foods (dried kibble) and just really couldn't find one that we were thrilled for. Some people began suggesting a fresh food diet; one that would be prepared by folks who knew what was going to be needed for dogs. We tried Just Food For Dogs and never really looked back. Our dogs are the center of our lives and like children, we are always looking out for what they enjoy and what we believe to be the most healthy. There are a lot of dog food brands out there with many that do the dried stuff, wet stuff and then stuff similar to what we see here. While we still mixed some dried food in with what they eat now, we have turned to the Just Food For Dogs mentality. What they do is prepare fresh (usually frozen) mixed cooked food that come in a variety of different packs: usually a protein, grains and also some vegetables. I don't believe there to be any extra flavoring and in fact, this food, if seasoned appropriately could be your dinner. What I generally like to do is order my food online and then pop in to pick up my premade frozen packs. I stuff a bunch in the freezer so I don't have to go there every week and then pull them out as necessary. If you want the fresh unfrozen, each day they prepare a different mixture. On those days, you can get the "bucket" size and pick up enough to last you for weeks (you'll probably want to individually package them so the food doesn't spoil!). While I'm in the shop, I also like to pick up a couple extra treat bags which the dogs love. Treats include dried cooked chicken breast, salmon treats and liver bark. In some ways it seems almost too good to be true and the real cost here is, well, the cost. It's expensive but if you have a dog, you knew they wouldn't be cheap to begin with. Many of foods here are probably things you can prep at home but I think if you're on a busy schedule like mine, the added cost is the worth the time saved. I now have a charge on my account for something I did not authorize and am stuck w overdraft charges. If you ever speak to this company on the phone, make sure you dot your I's and cross your T's otherwise you will get screwed. other than that their product is good. its a shame that after being a customer for so long they wouldn't even consider fixing this. read more

I have an *extremely* snobby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Perhaps it shouldn't too surprising, given their royal heritage. But that's cold comfort when trying to feed the picky buggers. Our puppy has turned her nose up at numerous types of kibble - and I'm not surprised, she deserves better. She will tolerate freeze dried raw in some cases, but is not enthusiastic about it. She ended up with a few hospitalizations due to gastrointenstinal distress, and we'd ended up cooking for her for a while - a bland diet of chicken, rice, cheese. While I'm happy to cook for our dog, it is not nutritionally complete. Well, JFFD to the rescue - for puppies they have a recipe pretty similar to Chicken & Rice, but it has veggies and supplements and is nutritionally complete for dogs. And it was no issue to transition our drama queen to this. The great thing is that they also provide recipes and sell the vitamins you need to make the meal nutritionally complete. So if your puppy likes bigger chunks of meat, or some other type of rice, it's not a big deal - you can totally swap it out. This is a godsend for the rare pup who does not eat everything in sight, and is pickier than a Kirkland toddler. read more

Very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. They do try to sell but they also try to help you find exactly what your dog (and cat) need to be healthy. They ended up recommending that we make our dogs food and gave us recipes. They have vets on staff so they know a lot about nutrition. Our dog is very picky. She wouldn't eat any of their food. Based on her likes they suggested a homemade recipe. The dog LOVES it. Check the place out. It's fun and educational. read more

I switched from raw to Just Food for Dogs because handling raw always made me nervous. My dog does really well on it and it smells so much better than any other dog food. However, a huge problem for me is the consistency in both their fresh and frozen foods, even more so in fresh. My dog is currently on venison and squash and the squash pieces are sometimes so large that he can't digest them and ends up vomiting. In the fresh batches, the squash is sometimes not thoroughly cooked and that is not digestible for dogs. I also worry he could choke on the large pieces. Additionally, the amount of cranberries vary greatly in batches and it makes me wonder how accurate the measurements are. read more

New human grade dog food option in Seattle. I used to cook for my dog, but I worried about the nutrition content. I asked my vet if just food for dogs is a good choice for my dog. She said it's definitely better than diy cooking. My dog is loving the chicken and rice formula. They have fish, chicken, turkey and beef. I recommend everyone to go into the store with your dogs. Your puppy will receive so many treats. Tip: petco sells just food for dogs treats for 50% if it's within a month of expiration. Just a good deal since their treats are not cheap!! read more

This is an excellent location that I go to to pick up dog food. Great customer service & everyone is friendly! As for the food, I find it to the best I have come across. My dog has been on JFFD 100% for about 6 years now & her health is remarkable. She is 13 & looks & acts like a puppy. Her skin & coat are amazing. She never has got spots or scratches it kicks her fur. Her coat is thick & shiny & her eyes are in perfect condition. Her blood work at the vet's office is perfect & she will definitely live many more years due to this food. I always tell people that when you give your dog top quality food it reduces vet visits & adds years to your dog's life! read more

We're really thankful for this food. We adopted our dog a few months ago and while he was not picky at all from the beginning, we didn't feel good about feeding him just kibble and canned food that smelled and looked horrible. He had a night of real sickness and afterwards we decided to switch his food to primarily just food for dogs and have been getting the chicken and white rice. He loves it and his poop is finally normal which is such a relief. :) thank you all for making this food and helping us keep our dogs happy and healthy! I traveled to almost every PetCo that I know of looking for JFFD Rx formula Renal support moderate. I was told by PetCo that it was available at a store I had already confirmed had none. I decided to go to the FJFD Westlake location. They were so helpful. They did a little research to find that the formula I needed is discontinued. They went even further to contact their manager to get some instructions for my situation. These two guys were great. Great customer service and just great young men. The food is super fresh. You can get what was cooked that day, in the fridge. You can get the full menu frozen in two different package sizes. You can get that menu in tetra packs too, so when traveling it's a no-brainer. Finally there are tetra packs of there special diet recipes like sensitive stomach or renal etc. After reading the books "Forever Dog" (New York Times best seller) and "Kibble" and switching both of our dogs to JFFD's the differences are very noticeable.
