Where do I start off? One year ago, When they first opened everything was very good. The food. The service. The drinks. Now a year ago from today my wings were raw, and my fries were stale and cold like if they kept a batch from a month ago and serving them presently. I complained to the manager, and had told me the only thing he could do was give me credit to eat at this restaurant. I told him I wouldn't be back in a very long time and declined his credit offered. Today for the World Cup my family figured to go to The Shack and hope for the best once again hoping those wings weren't raw this time. Obviously no one forces anyone to go wherever they want but we tried giving it a final shot. Everything was fine our server was really sweet. Then came the check and we all paid an amount that we all questioned. Thursday's they have a special of .89 cent boneless wings. We ordered 4 orders of boneless wings and charged us each $17 for each boneless. They also charged us a souvenir cup for $5 which we didn't even ask for and the server had said we could keep it. Never once said to us it was an extra charge. We left and realized it was a rip off of almost $40 they technically stole from us. The same manager that wanted to give me credit last year, gave us $5 worth of cash credit to spend at the shack . I literally laughed in their faces by how horrible this restaurant is. Moral of the story, PLEASE check your receipts at restaurants because there's a ton of idiots working at places where they have underaged girls wearing spandex up their butts and tank tops showing half their body, but don't interview them if they can count right or know what kinds of promotions are given at the restaurant they want to work at. read more

We joined a celebration of a college graduation and this was our first visit to this location. It's an impressive facility and I'm delighted the local guys have done so well. Service was prompt and efficient, and it's clear the service staff has had no professional service training. The visit declined rapidly when the food arrived. I ordered Buffalo Shrimp with hot buffalo sauce. The shrimp were breaded, a lot. There were not very big, I'd even call them small. The worst part is they were not even warm. I think they may have been covered with cold sauce. As much as I dislike sending a dish back, these were not up to any sanitary standards. My wife doesn't eat brad or carbs, so she ordered her Philly cheese steak without bun. It came in a bowl, and I'm not kidding was like 3 oz of beef, like a half portion. My shrimp came back, very slightly warmer. I suspect they were microwaved in the kitchen, because they looked suspiciously like the serving I has just sent back. With so many dining options a stone's throw from here, I cannot see returning to the Shack anytime in the future. read more

We were seated quickly at this new location on the Westside. But we weren't ready to order the minute we sat, so while they gave us "a few minutes", it turned into 20! We ordered a Berry margarita and were told there was no Lambrusco so we could order something else. But chose not to... Just had water. About 15 minutes later we saw a Berry Sangria being served to someone else! After an hour we were told they were behind in the kitchen and had some kind of problem. They couldn't say how much longer our food would take but there were 20 ordered ahead of us ... but we were welcome to leave if we didn't want to wait. The waitress didn't seem very optimistic that our or de was soon to come., They didn't seat any one else due to this and most patrons left ( including us). On our way out there ended up being a line of people waiting to get in, with LOTS of empty tables in the restaurant. I'm sure they were wondering why. I have visited this location three times already. The first visit was with my husband for dinner, and the service and food were great during that time. However, my second and third visits took a turn for the worse. I want to believe it was just bad luck, but both times I had the same server, and she seemed to be the issue. Unfortunately, I think she needs retraining. The primary role of a server is to check in with their tables throughout the meal, but I received more attention from servers who were not assigned to my table. During my second visit, our server never brought us silverware, did not ask if we wanted refills on our water or alcoholic beverages, and someone else had to bring out our food. She never inquired about how everything was. To my disappointment, I had the same server two weeks later, and the service was just as poor. This place is a joke. I went mid-afternoon and yet, while not busy, I still had to wait over 5 minutes to be seated. Ordered a burger, med-rare, came out not just well done but burnt. Fries tasted like a poor store version of frozen fries. Ordered a coke, got iced tea. Friend ordered onion rings, they were literally dripping in grease and somehow cold. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. My husband and I are very forgiving when it comes to service. We've given this place 3 chances, it's the worst location, by far... This is sad...this place is by far the best Shack in town with respect to size location and ambiance. But the service, lack thereof, is terrible. It was awesome up until recently. Poor service poor food quality. We have given this place two chances within the recent weeks and failed both times. First time, a person in our party never got their food. I had to get up and hunt down a manager and to this day I question whether I actually got their manager...before my family member finally got his meal after we were pretty much finished with ours. Second instance, we were seated and then ignored until we complained 15-20 min. Both instances were not even during peak dining times. The food was delicious and the wings are unbelievable we ordered the calamari and by far the best I've had. The wings were crispy everything was excellent and the service is awesome they get you anything you need right away. I highly recommend here hall gotta try it out. read more

We were super excited for a Shack to open up on the west side since we used to drive over to the northeast location all the time! However, these sorry excuses for "Philly Cheesesteaks" they just tried to serve us is unforgivable. I'm originally from Philadelphia so my bar may be high for a good cheesesteak, but I wouldn't even let my dogs eat this garbage. Most of the bun was filled with just chile and vegetables, barely any steak. Furthermore, we would order these cheesesteaks from the northeast location and they were delicious every time. We have been there twice. The first time, we were seated and it took 25 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. I finally got up to speak to a manager. He sent someone right away. The food came out finally and we had to send back the fries that we ordered extra crispy. We were seated in the patio area and floors were filthy. The whole time we were there no one cleaned the floors. There were chick wing bones on the floor and trash all over. The second time was just as bad. Luckily the server was very good. First, the burger bun was wrong. Called for a manager and asked if they changed their bun. She went away and came back to inform us that they ran out of the brioche bun and had to use a subpar bun that fell apart. On burger Wednesday..... REALLY!!!Second, the burgers were cooked to the wrong temp. We order med and was served well done. We brought this to the managers attention. Third, again the fries were sent back because they were not crispy. Forth, the sauce on the Shack Burger was a very small amount barely centered in the middle. Mangers let staff date each other and kiss in freezers. Super unhygienic the servers depend on tips so they expect you to tip them good even if it's bad service. I've heard and seen food come out that is disgusting and not even cooked or fresh. Cooks touch the food with their bare hands at times after not washing hands and they barely change their gloves. would definitely not recommend eating here. It was my husband's first time to the shack and we were disappointed with our service. When our server finally greeted us we ordered our drinks and she did not know the specials, when I was ordering the drinks she was confused. And she also had no alcohol beverage knowledge. It took forever for her to return with our beers so it took forever for us to order our food. After that, she barely checked on us, that ANOTHER TABLE noticed we needed napkins and were so kind that they gave us theirs. I don't even know how they knew that, we didn't say anything. My husband had to call her to ask for another refill and another beer, his drinks had been empty a long time, that he ended up drinking from my water. As the night went on we hardly saw her. Our drinks stayed empty and when she finally made rounds she barely looked my way to ask if I was okay but didn't even let me answer before looking to another table. I had I say "oh yes can I please have a drink", she didn't even bother to ask my husband or refill our waters or see if he'd like another beer. When the game was ending we were annoyed and she never came back, I had to ask the bartender to call her, and when she shows up and she says "what's up".... WHATS UP?! Where have you been... we asked for the check. And she shows us our tab and the drinks weren't priced right. She leaves and returns and only gave us $2 off? We ordered 3 domestic beers. We asked for the daily special. So we told her it still wasn't right, she just WALKED AWAY, no word no apology, nothing. She still didn't know her own special, and I'm sure the manager did the comp so does she not know too? Finally we waited forever for her to return, and was like "sorry our system doesn't ring up the specials so third times the charm" with a fake smile. I don't get how she was annoyed with us? Anyway we paid and left. The service last night was not good, my husband had been looking forward to eating at your restaurant since you were building it. So this was extremely disappointing. The food was good I recommend the garlic buffalo wing sauce and adding pulled pork to the fries so good!! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. i ordered the burger make it your way and loved every bit of it from the way they toasted the bun to the beef patty. The service was impeccable.
