Once in a big group ordering a large variety of cuts of all prices. Second time we got a standard coulotte and wagyu bavette. Both were amazing! The sauce is great and complements the steak well. We also got the mushrooms, which tasted great. Last time we got other appetizers too, and yeah, they all were great, including the bread. Prices are high. People poring the drinks care about what they are serving and who they are serving, you can see the cooks in the back making small corrections to the plate while they go out, the servers eagle eying the bar to make sure you're doing well, and yes this very much so shines when you tase the house cured meats. I've witnessed this level of care, detail, and charm done in Michelin stared restaurants, but never in a town bar.... I also do understand this is a bold claim, and I'm going to stand by it. I've had the Shambles bookmarked for a while, but finally got to come here during quarantine for take out. I wish we would have come here much sooner. It is AMAZING. The moment you walk into the restaurant, it smells so good. I immediately noticed how amazing it smelled and couldn't wait to dig into the food when we got home. We've done take out twice already during Covid-19 times, and each time went smoothly. Our favorites are the reuben sandwich, it's just tender and so well flavored. It's fantastic. The sausage on a roll is just as good. Everything is super flavorful and well cooked. The pork belly is so tender. The mole-rubbed tri tip sandwich has thin cut tri tip that's super soft as well. It wasn't tough to eat at all. The sides here are SO good as well. I didn't think the crushed potatoes were going to be that amazing, but it blew us out of the water - it was well salted. Our favorite is probably the foraged mushrooms. I believe they're cooked in butter, and it's something we want to eat with every meal honestly. The crispy duck sandwich was a little dry and not as crispy as we thought, but still tasty. They give you the duck sauce on the side to try to keep the duck crispy, it might have been a take out issue honestly. The cubano is well cooked, the mustard on that is fantastic. They have a small parking lot, but it fills up pretty quickly. But there is decent street parking around. I can't wait to come here in the future with any out of town guests. Go early though because the meat that is available is on the chalkboard and once its gone, it is gone for the evening. What an incredible place! Everything was absolutely delicious and an incredible value for money! Me and my partner opted for the 5 course dinner by chef Seamus Platt, they had an 8 course one as well that we looked into and thank God we passed cause we rolled out on all 4s. I've had my fair share if fixed 5 course menus in my life and none come close to this one in terms of volume, it was like we had 5 main courses for only $89! Won't go into too much detail, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, all I can say is it was incredible and doubt we will eat anything in the next few days. Ownership recently changed, and with that, there are understandable changes with staffing and the menu in general. I'm disappointed to see the happy hour has been curtailed from it's original 4-6pm hours, down to 4-5pm. And the pricing on the happy hour menu ($2 off per item, on average) isn't really worthwhile, IMO. The cocktails are still a solid deal, though ($8 for a manhattan or a martini, during HH). The sliders, which are the only menu item that are HH-only, aren't anything to write home about. The pork belly is no longer on the menu, which is a damn shame, as it was one of the better options at the restaurant. Coupled with a lack of updates to the website (the old owners are still listed), as well as the lack of updates on the social media accounts, I dont think I'll be returning for a while. I hope they can work out the kinks over the next quarter. And I really hope they expand the happy hour back to 6pm--the place is empty at that hour anyways, it's not clear why they cut it back in the first place. read more

This meal was one of the best meals we've had since moving to Seattle. There are NO cutting corners here. We ordered the meat and cheese board for 2 which comes with crackers that perfectly compliment. The capicola was my favorite. The sausage on a roll was delicious. Made with bratwurst in house. The bread was fresh and had the perfect amount of bite to it. Every single thing we tasted here was excellent. You can see a guy in the back making sure the plates are arranged to perfect liking before they come out to the floor. These guys clearly have a passion for their profession. Our bartender/server provided outstanding service. Vibe in here is chill and laid back. Making reservations (which I recommend as I saw walk ins being turned down) was easy. Over the phone or OpenTable are both options. Price point for the food was more than fair. My only minor complaint was the price of my cocktails. Great new restaurant! It's pretty small but very cozy and comfortable feeling. We came in on a sunday, there was about a 20 minute wait. They have a great selection of beers as well as an interesting cocktail menu, lots of tasty drinks I'd never heard of. We had an appetizer of clams. It was delicious and cost around $9. The broth was yummy and it came with enough toast for all four of us to have a piece. For dinner I had the lime tri tip sandwich. It was so good, the meat was tender and delicious. It came with a side, I chose the mushrooms which were tasty, it had a variety of mushrooms in it. Everyone at the table liked their meal. However, we thought the sides were kind of pricey ($5 for mushrooms, potatoes brussel sprouts etc) and the more expensive mains didn't come with a side, they came a la carte, would have made more sense for the expensive main to come with a side compared to the less expensive sandwich. Overall, I liked the food and I'm glad we tried it. I would come here again sometime. read more

I've never before written a bad review based strictly on one employee's behavior. But here it is. WHAT is this bartender's problem? I'd noticed him barreling around on prior occasions, giving off a jerky vibe. Had the misfortune of being up close recently, sitting at the bar witnessing his remarks to a fellow patron - who politely asked a simple question to clarify a cocktail ingredient. (Place was nearly empty; no one was in a rush.) The bartender's indignant response was sooooooo rude and dismissive, bordering on hostile. C'mon man... you're god's gift to mixology with no time to provide a simple description related to your unbalanced (in my opinion) cocktails? You're mixing drinks, not curing cancer or contributing to world peace. I am not returning to this place until someone tells me this a-hole is gone, and they have hired a bartender who knows how to talk to his fellow humans - and can make a decent a drink. read more

Came here to participate in a burger workshop and had a blast! Not only was the event super fun and innovative, we got to really understand how Shambles operates and try some of their charcuterie! I feel a lot of comfort eating at a location where the chefs really take pride in making everything in house and keeping the rest of their ingredients local. Not only are they offering amazing tasting food, it's fresh, local, and made in house. I tried their cheese board that was topped with salumi, and other cuts of meats and cheeses and everything was to die for. Perfectly salted, aged to perfection, and paired with house made pickles that complimented every bite. Though it is a little out of the way from Seattle, it is well worth the drive. Be sure to carpool so you can take advantage of their crazy full bar and there is a limited amount of parking! read more

I've been eating and drinking at the shambles since they first opened. Everything there is excellent but the muffuletta might be my favorite. It's such a unique sandwich. And rather than trying to duplicate the original, they've done their own take on it. It's excellent! But get whatever you want there. You can't go wrong. read more

We went to this spot a few times when it originally opened it, and it was a one-of-a-kind joint with mouth-watering selections for any omnivore. First time under the new ownership was not great. The food was still really good, but we waited an hour and fifteen minutes for it, then my wife's entree showed up, followed a few minutes later by our appetizer. 10 more minutes go by. Only after finding our server and asking if/when my dinner would arrive, did it finally show. Meanwhile, the folks at the next table sat down after us, ordered before us, got their food WAY before us, and left as I was starting to eat. After asking for the check, and receiving it, 15 minutes went by before I had to go find the server again. This was NOT a busy night. Loved this spot for happy hour! I can't believe I haven't noticed this place before - it's absolutely charming with a unique and exciting menu of food and drink. My friend and I met here and were pleasantly surprised by all of the options for all courses of your meal. We had items from every part of the menu and two of the desserts! Everything was to the nines! Topping my favorites list were the mushroom soup, the fresh oysters and fruit mignonette, and the cheese platter. Looking forward to returning to try out more menu items. I only wish the gnocchi wasn't made with all kinda of meat product - it looked and smelled incredible! My friend said it was the best gnocchi of her life.
