came in to get drinks and dinner with a friend. we sat at the bar and were greeted within minutes of sitting down. I ordered the nonalcoholic gin mocktail and it was delicious! My friend got the gimlet and was very happy with it as well. This was both of our first times here so we got a few items to split. The pierogis were the first stand out item on the menu followed by the cauliflower fritters. Both were great shareable portions and packed so much flavor. The squash pizza was great and perfect to share as well. We ended up taking home half the pizza and some the cauliflower fritters. Great atmosphere, inside of this place is really nice and inviting love all the plants. We got the perogis, poutine and bao buns suggested by our waiter and all were fantastic. He also suggested the paella but we weren't hungry enough for that. We will have to come back and try it! read more

Attended for a business dinner. Pork bao buns, pierogi, poutine, some sort of fake gin and citrus mocktail, and the ribeye with garlic broccoli. Food was absolutely phenomenal. Steak was cooked perfectly (I asked for medium, which I'd argue is best for fattier cuts like ribeye) and it was obviously a very nice cut - really high quality beef. Wish they could cook it over a wood fire. I was shocked, but this was honestly one of the best steaks I've ever had that wasn't cooked on my own kamado grill. I typically don't order steaks at restaurants because I'm so picky, but since the company was covering the bill, I figured it was worth a shot. Glad I went for it. The broccoli was amazing too - also perfectly cooked with delicious seasoning. Service was great. Restaurant was really loud, which sometimes made it hard to hear the guy across the table from me. Mocktail was very interesting - I think my brain was legitimately convinced I was drinking alcohol. Had to ask the server to confirm it didn't have any booze in it. Maybe it was the placebo effect, but I genuinely feel like it tasted exactly like the real thing. Anyway, it was delicious and perfectly made / presented, but I probably wouldn't get it again since it made me feel so weird. That's probably a "me" problem, but wanted to provide a heads up for any other infrequent drinkers who decide to try it. read more

Really impressed with this place! I went here on a Sunday around noon with two of my friends. There was no wait so we were seated quickly. I ordered The Shelby Triple, which included 3 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, and 3 pieces of sausage, as well as fries and toast. My meal was delicious! good luck trying to call to make a reservation for 6 or more(as per the website). Starting 3/2/26 I called every day during business hours 2-3 times a day, no answer/unable to leave VM! FINALLY today 3/7/26 at 11:07am I got an answer! Reservations for 6 at 4:30pm please, nope. Am told "earliest available 8:30pm, you should make reservations for a party of that size before the day of. We are very busy! " I proceeded to inform her that I had been trying for 5 days without reaching anyone or able to leave a VM until today. But there is availability for parties less than 6?!? Unbelievable... We are out of town people looking for above average food and service. We found it at The Shelby. I found the green garden motif relaxing and classy. I had been in the heat most of the day and when my server poured me chilled ice water with her greeting it was a hit. I ordered the Mandarin Chopped salad and paired it with House Cured Wings. I had the Hot Honey sauce. My Wife had the Tuscan Red Wine braised Short Ribs. It came with zucchini,confit tomatoes,sugar snap peas , marinated peppers , basil and corn puree. Aaliyah was our server and she kept our glasses full. Price wise it was slightly higher than average but, the food and service was above average too. Coming to Allentown? It's hard to put into words how amazing my sister's bridal shower turned out at The Shelby! First off, the atmosphere is just stunning. One of the main reasons we chose this venue was because it's already so beautiful on its own. We didn't feel like we had to go overboard with decorations, unless we wanted to. That's what drew us in initially, but after the event, I'd host anything there for so many more reasons. The food, the drinks, the staff, everything was just so well done! I got a ton of messages after the shower from guests saying how impressed they were with the venue and staff! Some of the highlights: the family-style lunch (no buffet lines!) and the servers constantly bringing around our signature cocktails and soft drinks, so people could keep hanging out and not have to get up and go to the bar all the time. But honestly, the best part of the whole thing was the staff. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and just genuinely welcoming. Big shoutout to Simon, Jacellah, Jillissa, and Aaliyah, you all helped make the day so special, and I can't thank you enough! read more

We reserved the outside table for 12 for a baptism celebration at 2 pm . We arrived and were told that they had to Move us to an inside corner because the previous party that had a reservation was still at the table and there was nothing they could do about it that they cannot garuntee any reservation ?????? WHAT ??? So then why take reservations? we could have booked elsewhere that WOULD have guaranteed the table we wanted for our event . instead we got out back by the kitchen doors ...... thanks ! Fair warning people the Shelby can't garuntee your reservations !! The waiter was apologetic as it was NOT his fault . WHO RUNS A BUSINESS LIKE THIS !! I've eaten lunch at the Shelby many times and always enjoyed the food and service. So when one of my family members suggested we go there for dinner, I was all in. The 5 of us were seated near the back and were met by our waiter, Richard. He was very pleasant and provided us with menus. He returned in a few and took our drink order. After returning with our drinks he told us about the specials and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. We order 2 apps for the table, the Boa Buns and BBQ Pork Poutine. I had never had these before but really enjoyed the Boa Bums a lot. Then I ordered the Beef Cubano sandwich with a side Caesar salad. The sandwich was excellently prepared, tasty and juicy. Our server, Elizabeth approached us with a smile that lit up the restaurant. She was warm, courteous and menu knowledgeable as well as being extremely helpful with questions I posed. We tried this restaurant a few years ago and it was just okay so we decided to give it another try as the menu looked newer than what we remembered. My daughter got the chicken gyro pizza, my wife a Greek salad with salmon and I got a turkey burger. The pizza was not goo and was nearly $20. Chicken gyro meat looked and tasted terrible, not even sure it was chicken. The chicken was in no way marinated chicken souvlaki as stated on the menu. Google what chicken souvlaki looks like, it's not what's in the picture. My daughter had one bite and wouldn't eat anymore. I had the turkey burger and I couldn't really tell with the lighting but family looked over as it was half eaten and said it wasn't done. Salmon on the salad was tasteless. See attached pics of both pizza and turkey burger. The restaurant is nice inside and our waiter was Sara was very friendly. She seemed concerned that my daughter didn't like her pizza. Within minutes she asked if she wanted something else and my daughter said no and she said, "let me get this out of your way." We thought surely she wouldn't charge us for something so inedible but we got the check and the $20 pizza was on there. Despite not being edible, what if we wanted to take the pizza home and give it to someone else as we paid for it? The fact that it was removed from the table so quickly without even asking if we were done, was strange.
