My Alien vs. Predator Feet invade Pismo Beach! Even before the top secret Area 51.31428... Scan, these very same feet have run amok throughout the USA & the World...only to be stopped in Shell Beach by the UVA rays of the setting sun reflecting off the beautiful blue ocean & having PTSD from a evil Seagull taking a flying crap on me while in prison. Yes, due to my secret powers & wisdom, they have to lock me away, at least some of the time (but yes, they are nice enough to let me "elope" every night & most weekends, so I can eat, sleep, shave, shower, & Yelp). While my Stinky Feet paraded round & round ....and pounded over & over again on the super- hard prison concrete, mile after mile....not amazingly, they began to hurt & so on up to my knee & so on up to my hip... So my Stinky Alien Feet then pounded over to a friendly local Orthopod MD, who suggest that I go to this Foot Tree to get a not so cheap Sneaker insert. For some unknown reason, it did help the first time & was not so cheap at $60 US... But fast forward to the present, got another replacement, and it gave me such foot pain that I could barely limp around & made me quite insane! ( & Thus the wacky review) The moral of the story is: A) Don't do drugs & go to prison wearing cheapo sneaker inserts. B) Go to prison & do drugs, so you cannot feel your feet screaming in agony. C) Shell out some big mulla to see a real Podiatrist & finally buy the real deal so you can walk around at work & not die from foot agony.... (for God's Sake, if you can afford Shell Beach, you can surely afford taking decent care of the only feet you will ever get...you cheapo Stink-Foot!) E) Don't bother reading my reviews, especially the bizarre ones like this one, which have little to no relevance...& if you do bother & have not fallen asleep yet...hey, why not hit the Funny Button? Rarely do I ever give a business 1 star because most businesses do try to strive in giving the best customer service that they can, especially a mom and pop shop. Nope, not this one. My review is late, as I came in here right before the holidays. I was unsure as to what color UGGs I wanted for Xmas so my husband and I go in and ask where the short UGGs are he pointed and than I asked if these were the newest ones that are scotch guarded already and he rudely states, it's the newest ones and rolls his eyes and turns away. Well excuse me for asking! The old style and the new look exactly the same, so I wanted to just make sure. Had I known that would offend him so much, I would have just never even asked. I was so excited to just buy them there but decided not too and Amazon PRIMED it. Pismo is my home town and all I wanted to do was buy those boots from a local shop to show my support. The worst is still yet to come, as we were about to leave he goes, I can't help you because we are about to close in 5 min and I have to go home. Uhm, excuse me sir you still have about 15 min before the store closes officially, but whatever it's your business. Never will I ever come back to this place, even if I were barefoot and had to walk on glass shards. He picks and chooses who to be friendly with, if you come in looking at your smartphone forget about it. I brought my wife here to look for shoes to help relieve her plantar fasciitis. I am not sure what that means, but her doctor said the shoe tree could help so off to Pismo we went! the clerk (Alex) greeted us, and began to explain the types of shoes that might help her feet... he fitted her for orthotics to support her arch, which really seemed to relieve the pain.. then he was able to find several pairs of shoes to fit the orthotic, AND her wide feet (which is always a chore)!! he was even able to find her a pair of flip flops that were very comfortable for her! long story short, my wife was excited to get several pairs of good looking comfort shoes, and I was glad not to spend all day driving from store to store searching! thanks again to Alex- he was super friendly and very helpful!!! we will be back for sure! read more

He knew so much about shoes and shoe pain that he was like a foot doctor! Within seconds, he told me which shoe that I needed. I tried on the shoes and walked around the store. I have never left a bad Yelp review, however the customer service at The Shoe Tree was awful. I have been searching for a certain pair of Ugg boots and was hoping the guy working the register would be able to help me. I walked in and showed him a picture on my phone of what I was wanting. He didn't even take the time to look at my phone and said well what we have here is what we have so if you see the boots here we have them. Didn't offer to order them or even acknowledge the picture. We left and a store in SLO, where the girl was very helpful and looked online for me found the boots and ordered me two pairs. read more

Absolutely delighted with variety and brands in this store. Friendly and so helpful. With a size eleven foot a lady sometimes has only paddle boards to pick from. This store stocks size 11 and can order if there is a special request. I bought two pair of SAS. Total comfort and style. I'll shop this store first from now on. read more

A few weeks ago, my husband ran into this store with our 2 children. My 3 year old son crawled up onto a chair and the salesman sighed loudly and said, "Ugh. I HATE children." Shocked, my husband left immediately and told me about it when I met up with them outside the store. As we walked across the street the salesman stood in the doorway and stared at us as we walked across the street. Super creepy and uncalled for. My husband has a hard foot to fit and most stores don't carry his size and having bunions doesn't make it any easier. Our sales person measured his foot and brought out just the right shoe to wear that would be comfortable with his bunions and still look stylish. In addition I needed a heel lift for just one shoe. One of the two specialists there fit me perfectly for the lift. We both now have happy feet. When either one of us needs new shoes this is where we will shop. read more

When we arrived there was a sign on the door that said be back at 3:30, this was concerning considering they closed at 4 but I waited. Sure enough at 3:30 the shop was opened up. There was no measuring because I knew the approximate size I needed. The owner was working and was preoccupied by opening so I just asked for Dansko and he pointed me in the right direction. After looking I let him know the sizes I needed and he went to the back and got them. Gave me some education on the shoes, which I appreciated because I was unaware the Dansko I was going to buy online weren't slip resistant which I need in nursing. Got the perfect size, purchased my product. They take Apple Pay which is nice and had a wonderful chat. We wished each other happy "weekend" and then left. He was very courteous without "stalking" which I appreciated and even though he was about to close I didn't feel rushed. The store was clean and inviting and I will return! Thank you so much. Bought cinnamon rolls next door and noticed this shoe shop. It's the Hubbies birthday and went in to see what we could get him... let the lady know it was his birthday to make small talk and no smile or warmth. We asked about BORN men's shoes and replied they're leather (as if we didn't know)... then stood in front of the shoes and said "thank you" a que to leave.... not once were we greeted, asked if we needed help, wanted to try a shoe size, or other- just blocked the shoes and said "thank you". I thought it would be a great store, it is expensive but, there is nothing like a pair of good fitting shoes. Unfortunately, this is NOT what I got. I had to make two trips just to get waited on, (this should have told me something) finally found a pair of shoes I liked but they were a touch tight, I was told that they were fit perfect and I would love them 2 days later after only wearing them indoors my feet hurt worse than ever. They said they could stretch them, but that did not help and they would not take them back the worst pair of shoes and the last time I ever let a salesman talk me into anything so lost $200 but learned a lot. My experiences with this store vary. I have had some experiences where staff is kind and polite and some where the staff is incredibly rude and unfriendly. After the time I spent in the shop today I can say I will not be coming back. Wow the sales man not only was cod as ice; he actually refused my questions and then much to my shock he left the room and never said a word and did not come back. I called out a goodby; no answer. His name was STEVE; this fellow ran me out and never to return again. Customer service here is horrible, 1 man behind counter, 1 woman sitting in a chair, 2 men standing on walkway between both side of store and 1 woman behind counter on mens side. I walk in and one of the two men sranding tells me mens section is behind him. I went in to find insoles for my work shoes. After 7 minutes of standing there with no one saying anything, i walked out. I guess they are too good for me. I would rather walk home barefoot then go into this store ever again. Do not buy shoes here!!! My mother-in-law spent 200 dollars on a pair of shoes that are shredding like cheap paper. Yes it has been 8 months since she bought them but she only wore them 4 times. As a full time nurse I was not able to get there sooner.. Alex is an idiot who could not even recommend leather protectant that the shop in Santa Maria did. I was advised to go to Shoe Tree for inserts. My logic was that that a Dr. who only makes inserts can do a better job that one who practices on the whole foot. I feel that I was right. Attempted to purchase Clarks Original Desert Boot this morning. A I entered the store I was told by the salesperson to let him know if I needed help, as he walked away. I told him what I was looking for. He responded that they don't stock it & it would take at least two weeks to order. I returned home, ordered them from Amazon for delivery tomorrow. We were visiting Pismo Beach this last week and came across this store. I have a very difficult size shoe size to find...Women's 10 1/2 W. Upon entering the store Steven, the Store Manager helped me. He had so much knowledge of the different shoes and how they fit that he was able to pull several styles for me that he thought would work. I fell in love with the Dansko brand, which came in a European size 42. He spent a great deal of time with me helping me find just the right shoe and knew which brands ran wider and longer. I week earlier I was at the DSW shoe outlet, which seems like it's as big as a football field and not one 10 1/2 in the whole store. So I bought the shoes, wore them the whole day and came back the next day for a 2nd pair in a different color. I love that they have so many different higher end brands with unique styling. Next time I'm in Pismo I will probably buy a few more pair. Love the service in this store....and they give you a coupon for a free cinnamon roll next door! read more

I had Diabetic Shoes and insoles made. I was told that I could get a FREE Pair of shoes every January. This store did all the work gave me the shoes then submitted the paper work to the Insurance Company which was not fully covered and told me I had to pay the difference. Because I questioned them on it they Turned it over to a Collection Agency. They said they changed Owners. and they had to close for a while and that's why I didn't get my invoice until 4 months later. I'll never shop there again. read more

My wife bought a pair of shoes from them and later had some problems with her feet, so she returned them, and they were very friendly, and helpful, in recommending a wider pair, and replaced them at no charge. After a short time the shoes began wearing poorly due to her job requirements. They again recommended a pair more suited to her job, and replaced the shoes again at no charge. Actually, they refunded the difference between the cost of the shoes. Now that kind of service, plus standing behind their products is rarely found. We highly recommend them! read more

When I first went to this store to buy shoes, I had a great experience. I was taken good care of, as was my friend who had her energetic two year old with us. I have wide and flat feet and am a waitress, so comfortable shoes are not only very important, but next to impossible for me to find. I was sold on a pair of nursing clogs that are all the rave right now and fit really well in the store. I asked the gentleman, after explaining my difficulty with finding just the right shoe, if I could return them if they didn't end up working out. He told me, of course as long as I did so within 30 days. I brought the shoes home and wore them around the house for a couple of hours and they seemed ok, so I took the plunge and wore them to work. By the end of the night, my whole body hurt, I felt like I was run over, my heels hurt so badly, like they were bruised. Obviously, these shoes weren't going to work out. This is where the negative review comes in. The salesman when I went in to return the shoes was incredibly rude and confrontational. He refused to take them back because they were too used. Uhhhh, yeah, I used them. I was told I could return them if they didn't work. He shook the receipt in front of me and said the receipt says they have to be in new condition. How is he supposed to sell them in used condition.? I have a few problems with this. First, after I had to tell him that he didn't need to get so upset, I explained that the sales person I purchased them from didn't tell me that. Second. I wasn't under the impression that when you go into a shoe store, you are buying $120 pair of shoes that someone previously took home, wore for a few days and returned. I thought I was buying new shoes, which in hindsight explained why the 9.5s were bigger than the 10s on me. And Third, I don't care if you can resell them. Send them back to the vendor as a defective product, which, if these are supposed to be the newest comfort shoes for nurses and they bruised my feet, they are defective. He was so rude, I started crying in the store (probably because I'm 4 months pregnant and emotional), but also because I was poorly treated and he humiliated me. I will not only never be back in the future, but I will be sure to spread the word to the world of restaurant workers in this area. Being in the restaurant industry, I've never written a review on yelp (good or bad) but I felt very mistreated, and think that no one else should have to have a ruined day over someone's inability to treat others with kindness and respect. read more

Never again. If you're looking to spend a fortune and be treated like trash this is the store for you. If you're looking for orthotics, honest sellers and store that stands behind it's products then avoid this place!!! Took my son in for orthotic shoe inserts as recommended by his physical therapist - they were ONLY interested in selling us shoes. When I said I wasn't interested in the rigid raised heel, shoes (which were horrible and threw his ballance completely off!) and wanted to get what the physical therapist suggested the sales man walked away! They had a machine to measure his foot needs but No interest in helping us unless we were buying their second rate and Very uncomfortable shoes. They actually conned me into a pair of their shoes a year ago - the shoes were poorly made and defective with metal pieces that pushed through the insoles in 2 weeks! $150 for shoes that had to be thrown away in 2 weeks due to poor quality - their response 'oh well' . This is not our first attempt to buy from this store but it was our LAST. Even if their shoes are a joke they're supposed to be professional orthotics experts - I guess that's a joke too cause if we weren't there for shoes they didn't want to sell us anything!
