My son took our car to C&C for brakes and a we indicated a sound we were not sure of (back noise, suspension or shocks). $480 later, the sound was not even fixed or even looked at? My husband asked to see the worn parts and he was told, we threw them away? Something tells me that is shady and even though we got ripped off, that tells me that this shop does not care about customer service. So YES I will YELP you wrong for charging us an arm and a leg, not correcting the problem and being sarcastic to my husband. I was followed to the parking area and called a "Smart Ass"!! I've used these guys for years and never had a problem till now, but it was a major issue. My Honda was running hot and I had to make a trip to LA. I brought it in specifically to have them check it out and make sure it would get me there and back safely. If they had told me it wouldn't, I would have rented a car without hesitation. They ran the tests and told me there was an internal engine issue and they were going to put a sealant/blocker in it and that should work because the problem was minimal. I asked him two or 3 times if it would make it and he told me it would. I trusted his professional option. Well it didn't make it. I did not have a good experience here. My car was overheating despite plenty of fluids, and new radiator so I brought it in and suggested it might be the thermostat. I picked it up and asked the mechanic what the problem ended up being, he said it was the thermostat and so I drove back home which is about 10 min. away. On my way home it overheated again so I brought it back. The guy that took it in said he cheacked it out and everything was fine. I drove it home again, and it overheated AGAIN. I ended up selling the car to a mechanic that said he thought they put the thermostat in backwards. I'm a student on a budget who wasted around $100-$200 and would never go there again. read more

I was overcharged on an original 95 dlls diagnose for electrical fan problem and the guy nick call me to let me know after 3 days in the shop that the. Charge was going to be. Now 280 so on my mind I guess that it was going to be fix. But. There was another 200 more. I pay the guy his 220. And hin saying he give me a huge discount just for the diagnose. .... This the best place I've been to so far for auto repair. They did what a lot of shops won't do and let me provide them with the parts they needed to fix the car which saved me a lot of money because I only had to pay $60 for a fuel pump at Pep Boys but if they had ordered it, it would be have around $200. I also brought in a fuel filter and asked what it would cost to have that installed. They said they would do it for free. I was like "Fo Real". Thing is though my car still didn't run after they did everything, which isn't their fault because they weren't the ones who gave me the diagnostic. It was another shop that wanted to charge me twice as much to do the fuel pump. So I had C&C do a diagnostic and they found out that along with my fuel pump being bad, my ignitor was also gone. They don't sell new ignitors so I had to bring them a used one. The used one didn't work after they installed it so then I had to bring another used one that did work. It was not easy finding these ignitors so they had kept my car in their shop for about 2 weeks but never charged me a storage fee. I was real worried to see the bill because I was afraid they were gonna charge me twice for the ignitor since they had to replace it two seperate times but nope they didn't. They just played it off as if they never went through all that extra trouble and gave me a great deal. read more

I have not taken my car or truck here to be worked on but I stopped in today because an RV Service dept forgot to tighten a nut on a hitch for our travel trailer. It is a huge nut so I couldn't find a tool locally big enough. They took it right in and tightened it up and said "OK it's done", I asked them how much do I owe them and he said "nothing, don't worry about it". That is excellent customer service! When/if I need service on any of my vehicles I will not hesitate to take them here. I had called an RV Service close by and they said I would need an appointment even after I explained what needed to be done and it would only take a few minutes and I would just wait around until it got done. I had a disagreement with one of them in 2007, it was quickly resolved; needless to say, it's 2015 and I'm still a satisfied customer. I've brought them 4 different makes and models and they've fixed them all...including complicated stuff other shops were confounded by. They translate "Auto-Greek" into layman terms, prices are always fair and they have not once come across sneaky or tricky - they're honest. They tell you the problem, fix the car and move on to the next customer. All with a clean, well organized and professional shop. I used to go here all the time. But then I had them flush my radiator and they thought they had filled it completely up. Turns out they hadn't and when I drove my car home, it almost blew. Then they sent a guy out to finish filling it up and it turned out to be a very unpleasant experience. Overall, their prices have been very fair and they seem to be pretty honest and competent, but I just haven't felt like going back since then. read more

I was referred to them by one of the Wiler's Towing guys a while back, and if TOWING guys don't know their salt about local automotive mechanics, who does! Mike is thorough and fair, takes the time to explain what's needed, and our cars always come out running like new. C & C has done some fairly major work on both of our Monteros, along with some of the more annoying 'fix-it' stuff, like power windows. With all the hucksters in the auto engine repair industry its nice to know places like C & C are still around - a shop where you can drop off your car without fleecing your wallet. I am a loyal customer to C&C they have been keeping us on the road for years now. I feel that the owners are very fair and they tell you the truth about your car. They don't add on extra stuff and the prices are good. Several times I have had my car at the dealership for warranty repairs and they send me home with a list of stuff that needs to be done. I then take the car to C&C and they either fix for 1/2 the price or let me know the car really didn't need any of the repairs the dealership told me it needed. So I like to find deals if I can. My wife and I have a gorgeous 2008 Saturn Vue that really needed new front tires. Costco, America's tire etc,etc all wanted $280-$350 just for the tires! R&T Tire hooked me up with a KILLER deal on tires for $70 and then set me up w/ C&C to mount em. They even fixed my tire pressure sensor without charging any more! I was in and out in an hour. After I put up that nice review I had the most horrible experience and I will never go back. We have used these guys for years. I brought in my van because it would not pass smog. I'm not sure what they did to to my van, but I was happy to pick it up quickly for $340. Immediately my husband riding in the car said "Oh no, you have to bring this back!". It ran suddenly horrible. Bumpy and engine sputtering. God I wish I listened to him! Not 50 miles driven and the van broke down on the side of the freeway with my two kids at night. Suck - AAA couldn't take us in his tow truck so I had to call my mom to pick us up another hour away. I called C and C and spoke with someone on the phone to tell him that the van I picked up earlier was being dropped off by a tow truck and he said "Okay". Days go by and I don't want to bother them, I just figure they are trying to work as fast as they can. Then I get a message on my machine saying "Why is your van here?". When I call the guy he fumbles around saying he didn't know why it was there and no, no one made note the night I called. So then he calls back and says that the engine is messed up and they don't do engine work (what???). Best he can do is replace the engine. So I tell him to find the price and get back to me. But I am getting mad now. They totally messed up my engine and now they can't fix it? I wait a couple of more days...AND get ANOTHER message on my machine "Why is your van here?". ARE YOU JOKING??!!! So now I'm spitting nails and call and ask to speak with the owner. He is so awful!!!!! Telling me that my engine blowing up had nothing to do with the work he did - then blaming it on me saying it was because I did not change the oil (Even though it had fresh oil when it blew up). He keeps yelling at me that "Most people leave a note when they leave the van". I point out that I was a little busy being stranded by the road but I did call and confirm the tow truck dropping it off! At the very least they should have recognized the van from having it earlier that day!. He just goes on and on that they are sooo overwhelmed with work that they can't keep track with the cars. Too many cars to work on, they don't have time, they can't stop to take a message. All things that are not my problem and show what an idiotic business owner he is. Not to mention, a horrible mechanic. All he can talk about is oil changes. I'm sure this is all to get my pity and forgiveness but I'm not having it - so he gets so out of control that he starts yelling at me that I have to pay for the time my car sat on his lot even though they are the ones who held it hostage.Seriously? I thought they were diligently working on my van. Not running around with their heads cut off unable to recognize a van they just did work on. They should pay me for the time I went without the car as well as refund the work I paid for that completely wrecked my car. If they didn't cost me my car I would have laughed. People - Unless you want your oil changed - do not go. Total incompetence. What they did was Unforgivable!!! read more

I have lived in Benicia for 10 years and C&C was recommended to me, since I am not from California, I didn't have any idea whether they were good or bad...HUGE mistake. My son's SUV started overheating and there was an oil leak so, I took it in during Feb. 2013 and instead of them letting me know all the things that were wrong with the car, prioritized...ya know, like there are 10 things that are wrong with the car and the top 3 should be taken care of, they started trying to fix things....told me it needed a new engine. They replaced the engine and once it was in they found out it was a bad engine, so they put in another engine and told us everything was fine. The check engine light never went off and the car never ran correctly, always felt like it was jerking. When I called and questioned Nate about it, since he is the one we had been dealing with, I was told he wasn't there and the other guy was a complete dick. Told me on the phone that Nate was in the hospital with Vertigo but he knew what was going on with my son's car and they just "try to figure out what is wrong with the car and when you drive it away, it could be something completely different" So at this point they have had the car in and out of the shop from Feb to June 2013. The car had not run correctly and had the same issues except no overheating since the initial visit and $4000 worth of repairs made by them and paid by me. Car completely stopped 2 weeks ago and took to the dealership (NOT C&C again) and was told C&C put in spark plugs and wires that were not compatible with the engine(BOTH put in by C&C) and the oil leak was never fixed so the head gasket was again blown. So now, after $4000 to C&C, I had to pay the dealership $1200 to get it fixed CORRECTLY....I would never recommend C&C to anyone I know! read more

My truck broke down on 680 near Belicia. My heater core fitting came loose and I lost all my antifreeze. Managed to slip the fitting back on but it was still broken. I had some water in the truck that I keep for the dog when he is thirsty. Dumped in all the water I had and limped to to Chevron on Lake Herman road. Filled it the rest of the way and stared calling the nearest shops. C and C was less than a mile a way. Called them up and they took me in and fixed it in about an hour. I cant thank them enough, could have been a miserable day. On top of that, the repair price was next to nothing. Thanks again guys....outstanding job. read more

Person had given a quote through a friend; I called to confirm but "fail" to tell the one guy who answered the phone that. They were supposed to call me with the quote. Tired of waiting, Six hours later I call back and guy gives me a quote $100 more than before and gets all angry when I mention the previous quote and says he'll stick to the expensive quote. Sounded like he was having a bad day and decided to take it on me, his customer. What the hell??? Screw them! To make this short and sweet, very very unprofessional, swaying on the side of crooks, liars and cheats. Took my Honda Civic and my fiance's Ford truck to them. Both cars were not taken care of, my fiance's truck blew up and is inoperable to this day because of the work they said they did but did not touch. I personally took my Honda to the dealership where i purchased the car after ALL my maintenance lights went on, my washer fluid was drained just after I had them "work" on the car to take care of this stuff, and the man there at the dealership said absolutely no maintenance was done on the car. I asked C&C to do a simple oil change the only thing C&C did was turn off all my maintenance lights and said that the oil was changed, spark plugs were changed, fluids etc. simple stuff that Jiffy Lube could have done but my fiance and I decided to give them a chance since they were even related to the family . All in all they were the WORST of worst that I have ever experienced. Between my fiance and I we paid them nearly $1000 to do simple work that was NEVER done and the loss of my finaces truck had caused us problems. I would love to take this to small claims and think I will. God if you treat family and friends this way I hate to see what they do to their enemies!!!!! read more

I went to them for many years, always experiencing realism and honesty. Then, I brought my car in for a problem that, admittedly, was difficult to diagnose. I went with the diagnosis, paid them for their work, and the problem persisted. I brought it back explaining the problem persisted. They then came up with another diagnosis that they couldn't guarantee would work. I tried it one last time, as the tech seemed pretty sure. They made me pay for, not just the first, but the second as well. They wouldn't give me a refund, even on the initial false diagnosis. End result: 1000 paid, all to scrap the car. SUPER SHADY: THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF ONE OF THE DIAGNOSES/REPAIRS, JUST ONE. For a moment I felt like I was stupid, but keep in mind, this is after working with them over 6-7 repairs over 10+ years, so I wasn't ever expecting to be ripped off by their inability. Can't say I blame myself for a bad call given our past, but I'd be insane to let anyone go to them in the future. I would also put emphasis on their inability to properly diagnose, a VERY common occurrence, but in the past they would always ask for the cost of ,say, coolant they added, they'd say up front "Sorry, we don't know", and I could save my cash for another competent shop. Those days are gone. Stay away. Stay far, far away. read more
