Caponata Siciliana con Crostini di Casa

The food here was great. We did come for the lasagne because we heard it was really good. But the night we went, they had the baked rigatoni instead. But it was also good. I still want to try the lasagne. The only dish that was a little disappointing was the salad. I thought it was under dressed. The eggplant appetizer was really good and so was the pesto. We were so full afterwards but the owner talked me into getting the lemon cake and it was really good. I'm glad I did. The restaurant was cozy and seemed to be in a converted house. I will be back for the lasagne.

Such a fun night at The Sicilian! The food was divine, very authentic!! I don't recall the names of all the dishes but they were all delicious! The pesto (always my fav) was out of this world! I am in Italy almost every summer and told the owner it's the best I've ever had.. truly. The service was spectacular! Julia, our server, was amazing... she was attentive, super sweet answering our menu questions and had an awesome sense of humor. Julia along with Justice (who was equally amazing and also assisted us) both added sooo much to our overall wonderful evening! Already looking forward to our next visit. Ciao for now

Absolutely lovely authentic Sicilian restaurant! We loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious. They also have a wonderful selection of Italian wine at very reasonable prices. We will definitely be coming back to try some more great food and enjoy the music and Italian vibe

Came across The Sicilian by accident today, and so glad I did. It's the real deal...my family is from Boston's North End and this is by far the closest thing I've experienced to the food from there. Julia the owner and her staff were incredibly hospitable, too. I'll definitely be back.

I don't know where to begin... incredible service, home made authentic food, great atmosphere, beautiful ambiance... just an overall great place. The owner, Julia, makes recipes passed down from her grandmother. We loved hearing the origin of where the recipes came from. The best part of eating here was the experience. The staff were so friendly and meet us laugh and feel really good and at home. It was an authentic Italian experience! As soon as we got in the car to leave, we made plans to go back again. We had so much fun.

This is an authentic Sicilian food! I took my mother here who is born in Sicily and we all loved it! Everything we ordered was fantastic. We can't wait to come back.

As you walk in the aroma of herbs and a home cooked meal greets you through the door. The ambiance is simple yet elegant and full of charm. You can sit wherever so no reservations needed. The service phenomenal and the food, like grandma made it. Delicious and heart warming. The owner has such a great personality, we felt like a neighbor had us over for dinner. This little gem is a treasure in Crockett. Go! Open Thur- Sunday. We will be back on a monthly basis.

Unfortunately the restaurant is closed. It was a wonderful experience but life issues got in the way. Go to Agrodulce in Berkeley.

Arancini di Riso - 3 stars as it was pretty acidic, good tomato sauce is not supposed to be acidic Cesare - their Cesare dressing is great and delicious - 5 stars Gnocchi Tartufati - 4.5 stars, I did like the sauce, it's delicious, the Gnocchi was a bit mushy hence reduced it by half a star, the taste was good Kids Penne Al Burro - 3 stars stars, it's basic, their "butter sauce" is just plain butter, super light and not much in it Mezzelune Di Ricotta - 4 stars, it was okay for me but my husband loved it Can't comment on the service or the ambience, as this was a to go order. I've never eaten at La Ciccia nor have I ever traveled to Sardinia, but that I am most definitely intrigued. The interior felt very rustic with touches of old European charm. The outdoor patio felt very al-fresco. Pasta and seafood lovers would surely enjoy dining here. Starters: - Roasted Monterey calamari with greens tossed in basil oil. Perfectly tender and the sauce is amazing as a bread dipper. - Spicy tomato stew with baby octopus: the collective thought was that this dish reminded us all of cioppino, and for good reason. The stew was absolutely delicious with perfectly cooked octopus. I could have eaten bowls and bowls of this stew. Not overly spicy with just the perfect kick of heat. We came for pasta: and pasta we did! - Cured fish roe spaghetti with spicy oil: umami rich in flavor with perfectly cooked pasta. I devoured the entire dish. - Fettuccine with sea urchin and tomato cured tuna heart: absolutely wow'd by this dish. Creamy sea urchin and tomato'y tuna heart paired so well with fresh pasta. "We" have a sweet-tooth. Our waiter said never to put a limit on dessert, and so we chose to have two to end our meal. - Chocolate pannacotta with hazelnuts: before spooning into the dessert, like children, we jiggled the bittersweet chocolate jelly sweet concoction. This reminded me of having a creamy hot chocolate from Angelina's in Paris, albeit this dessert being cold instead of hot. Really good. - The nightly special was: basil gelato topped with powdered fish roe. If savory and sweet eats are your thing, you will most definitely enjoy this dish. This dessert was the table favorite. It just works! Service: our waiter was not only funny, in conversation, but was above all very attentive. Definitely coming back for more tastes of Sardinia.
