Love this place so much! Every time I come here, I have a wonderful experience. The quality of the food is always the same and the food making space is kept clean, which is a big deal for me. The spanokopita and Greek fries are a delicious addition to any entree you decide on. The baklava cheesecake is also a delicacy, honestly. It rounds out the meal perfectly. Don't be scared to try one of the hummus varieties they have or the pickled red onions! Creating a colorful bowl of vegetable goodness is half of the fun. Finally a good place that makes lemon rice that's so flavorful! The atmosphere has a cool vibe. The seemed happy to be there, and willing to provide suggestions. The shift lead the day I went was willing to answer questions and actually remembered that I loathe olives. Overall the staff seemed knowledgeable about their product, and willing to make accommodations that suit your taste palette. I will definitely eat at this restaurant again. In addition, I would highly recommend the gyro chicken, it is juicy and full of spectacular flavor. Dry meat is the worst! The tzatziki sauce is on point. If I can make one suggestion, I had souvlaki when I was in the Mediterranean; basically meat grilled on kababs. Maybe something to think about adding to the menu. It would be too easy to allow people to build their own kebab sticks and then toss them on the grill for an added variety to the menu. I eat here often because I own a business in the area and it's convenient and the food is normally great even though the service sometimes isn't ..... But today was terrible, I go in and there's a gentleman in front of me who ordered his food pays in cash and leaves, The employee behind the counter still had the gloves on she handled the previous client food and Cash with And asked what I would be having... I asked her if she would change her gloves, she pushed the glove box and told the other girl working behind the counter (who was not wearing a mask) she would have to serve me because she didn't want to help me! Being a business owner in a customer service field, I take customer service seriously, If that had been one of my employees, they would no longer have a job! Great place for a meal! It's a fast, tasty, and guilt-free option. It's kind of like the Chipotle version of Greek food. You can customize your meal as much as you want, or you can decide to order pre-set menu items. We got one of each - a customized bowl and a menu item. I was surprised that the hummus and tzatziki sauces didn't cost extra! They kindly offered to put mine on the side, which I recommend if you're not sure you'll like the hummus/sauces or if you want to dip the pita separately. The pita that came with the meal was good too. Next time I return, I'll definitely be getting a bowl again. It was clean, refreshing, and quick. My last time to go to The Simple Greek. It is not the same place I loved in the beginning. I would go once a week, then once a month, now never. Prices have gone up and menu is worse. Nothing remains of my favorite ingredients except for lettuce and feta cheese (which will probably go next week). Gone are the wheat pita, chicken gyro, tomatoes, cucumbers, lemon rice, garlic cream dressing and even salt and pepper (was told to put it on myself from the little packets). They have a nutritional document on their website showing gluten free, dairy free, soy free, and wheat free options, which was great (although it did list a few more base options than were available here). This food is delicious and fresh. It's fast and fun to eat. You get enough in a bowl to share even if hungry and it's just amazing. I like to get a bowl for me and one for my husband and we can eat on it all day. The fresh meats that roast all day are perfect. Absolutely wonderful- both the service and the food!! It was our first time there and we were checking the menu out and the manager came and greeted us and explained the menu and gave us suggestions. Every employee was very polite. The setup is similar to Chipotle- you pick pita/bowl and then choose what grain you want (I went with the lemon rice pilaf which was delicious) and then choose your meat, vegetables and dressings. The prices are great for all the quality food you get. We had zero complaints- it was a very clean restaurant with quick and extremely friendly service and delicious food. The manager also made sure to come by again and ask if we enjoyed our food. You can tell they take pride in serving good food. Highly recommended!! We will definitely be going back regularly! P.s. Your staff need better costumer skills. Does spending my money there annoys them? I was asking questions about the food and the looked annoyed and no smile no greatings when we came in. The food was frozen inside and had no great taste. The only thing I liked was the soup. The fries were soooooo greasy and same for the falafels. Please train the staff better. A fast, relatively healthy option for downtown Columbus. Not going to pretend like it's the most authentic, but when I visited, the gyro meat was flavorful and tender, and the ingredients to the make-your-own salad tasted fairly fresh. The mixed greens weren't the best, but the portion size of the overall bowl is huge. Dolmades are extra, but are super tasty. Checked out this place while I was in Columbus for work. I got the salad bowl, with chicken gyro for the protein and an assortment of toppings, including garbanzo beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, and feta. The service was great, servers were fast and polite. The restaurant was clean and well stocked. The manager came around to each table to enquire about our experience and help clear away used dishes. Food was tasty, and atmosphere was pleasant. I was talked into going here for a dinner break with a couple of co-workers. Service was fine, the employees were very nice. Place was clean. My issue was the food. I ordered the "bowl" which was a salad. The pictures with advertisements feature a Spring Mix loaded with dark, leafy vegetables. Upon walking up to order my food, I noticed that a significant portion was cut with ice berg lettuce. Additionally, they only gave me half a piece of pita bread, and a tea spoon size of hummus. I got the grilled chicken as a protein, and along with additional featured veggies, and their standard Greek dressing. The chicken portion was extremely disappointing, and as a whole the salad was very bland. For 10$ this was not enough food, and it wasn't worth it from a value perspective, it doesn't even come with a drink! To make matters worse, we got talked into getting their signature Greek fries. Sounded delicious, but upon getting them, they were soggy, even though they were just fried. Clearly because they don't know how to fry French (Greek *cough*) fries. Zoey's blows this place out of the water, and I would gladly spend the extra 2 dollars to go there over this overrated establishment. PS. This is a chipotle style gyro place. That is to say, you go down a bar of ingredients and choose your bread (or bowl, or salad,) meat, sauce, toppings, etc. A pretty incredible concept I'd say. I love greek food, and this was certainly a good gyro. Also, I got one dolma for $1 to try them out, and it was also pretty darn good. Granted, it's very Subway in their preparation but honestly I was shocked at how it good it was being very particular about my Greek food. I sample everything from their hummus, dolmades, and gyros and they were damn good. The college student or teen behind the counter was very ambitious and worked hard for the order and I truly appreciated it. The overall atmosphere reminded me of an upscale restaurant than your hole-in-the-wall Greek place so that was a difference to say the least but overall the service, the food, and the atmosphere were great. This is my first time ever posting a review but I felt like it was necessary to do considering how often I used to eat at Simple Greek and the changes they have made recently. Like I said, I typically eat at Simple Greek a few times a week. Recently they have begun changing a few things. First, although this is small, they changed the containers that their bowls are served in. They said it was because "they ran out of the other bowls" but they have continued using the new almost cardboard material containers that reduce the serving size you receive for your bowl. Second, they also have now increased the prices for the bowls as well. This is especially frustrating when you consider that you are now getting less food because of the new bowls they use to serve. Third, for as long as I have been going to Simple Greek they have offered a military discount for active duty military as long as you show ID. They have now altogether stopped offering the military discount. Columbus is a major military town and I personally know of multiple other active duty members who feel the same way that I do and have told me that they will no longer be eating at Simple Greek. Last, Simple Greek now charges for a cup of water. I cannot think of any other restaurant that I have ever been to that charges for a cup of water. Simple Greek used to be my go to restaurant for a quick meal but due to all of these changes that have recently been made I will no longer eat there and I will encourage my friends, especially active duty military, and family to do the same. read more
