I stopped by here as last resort during the holiday "fourth of July" so i was grateful they were still open. I ordered the "street corn loaded quesadilla" combo which also included a side of chips. I decided to also get the guacamole with more chips. The drive-thru service went well, it was not packed during the time of arrival. The ordering process went smooth. My food arrived hot and ready to eat. I enjoyed the quesadilla although I wish it included more chicken. I'd say it was 3/5 overall in taste and quality. They have these machines to order on which is a pain in the rear as most people did not know how to use them. The staff here is super friendly and every interaction I've had has been warm, welcoming, and helpful. I usually place my orders on the mobile app and my food is mostly always ready on time with only a couple of minutes of waiting on their busier days. The manager, Gabriela, has been amazing to me, and in my most recent stop in for lunch, she mentioned the new chicken tenders on the menu and gave me a couple of coupons for my next visit. I asked, just in passing, if they were good and she graciously gave me a little sample, which I thought was super sweet. They have A digital deal for 3 tacos, chips and salsa and a drink for $5.99. Make it a large for .20 cents more. Pretty great deal for a good amount of food for not a lot of money. Good grief - fast food restaurants are sneaking in ways to make their money, specifically with sides. Dear Hubby, Sweet Granddaughter, and I went with the drive-thru experience yesterday evening to bring our meal back to her house to eat together. SG only wanted "rice and beans", not even a quesadilla. DH and I agreed to split a double chicken tostada. I noticed that Pollo Loco is now crazy for grilled shrimp tostadas, which I would have gladly ordered, but was voted down by DH. We also ordered a side of guac and chips. When we go to the window, the sticker shock set in - $33 for one tostada (about $13), side of chips & guac (about $6), and $5.50 each for what looked like miniscule portions of the rice and beans. I was still grumbling about it all the way back to SG's house. When we showed her mom the size of the containers and had her guess the price, she was shocked, too. I will say that when I turned those little containers into a salad-size bowl for SG to eat, the contents went farther than I thought. But still, rice & beans are still cheap staples to make, right? Lesson learned? Don't go to Pollo Loco without some coupons for deals in hand. DH said that he doesn't remember seeing any of the coupons that come in the mail recently. We will certainly keep an eye out if we are going to plan to eat there again any time soon. I will say that the tostada was adequate, and SG did finish her whole "dinner" of those rice and beans, so that's a good thing. Do not get delivery! They mess up your order or forget an essential item every time. I've ordered 4 times not a single time has it been accurate. If you complain no one ever gets back to you. I usually order the chicken tostada salad and every time they forget the cilantro dressing. It's so dry and bland without it. I tried something different and got the chicken avocado stuffed quesadilla. The cheese was not melted at all. It was cold and the chicken in there was disgusting. It's all the reject chicken. After eating here hundreds of times, I have never reviewed them before today. why should I? Everyone knows them, right? Well, after reading some of the previous reviews, I want to balance things out. 5/5 - Chicken: The best. When I don't want to cook but I want to have a real meal, this is usually what I want. Amazing flavor and enough sides to make a well rounded meal. 5/5 - Baja Shrimp: This is not always available, but get it when it is! You can substitute it on the burritos (I love it on the avocado burrito). 5/5 - Mac and cheese: This is Mexican food, so shouldn't KFC have better mac and cheese? They don't. Creamy, cheesy and delicious. 5/5 - Corn on the Cob: hot and lovely 5/5 - Avocado Salsa: I have ordered bowls of it for our parties. A little spicy and goes so well with their shrimp. 4/5 - Spanish Rice: Definitely better than most restaurants that put frozen mixed vegetables in their rice! 3/5 - Posole Verde - So awesome to be able to get Posole at a drive thru. 4/5 - Beans: Live that they are wet so that you can put it on top of the rice Mathematically, that puts them at 4.5 stars, but I will round up for consistency. Friendliest staff. Superb food quality. Clean dining area. One of my favorite El Pollo Loco spots to dine in. Employees are always so kind and professional. The only bad experiences I've had here are with customers being rude and disrespectful to the employees. Of the many times I've dined here, there have always been incidents with problematic customers and the staff have always handled these situations in a professional manner. 2nd or 3rd time I've come through here either in the car or person. Today it was raining very bad and I decided to get a bite to eat through the drive thru. I thought the drive thru went quick and easy. Although I don't like the twist and turns this paved road has to order and pick up. I'd definitely return and recommend coming to this location before you go to another one. My food was a bit over salty yet still remained to be devoured. The flavor of the chicken was mighty delicious. The rice and beans I chose really hit the spot. I ordered a macaroni too and I don't really think it left a lasting memory of flavor but it was in my bag and they remembered to add it.
