Oh dear. As much as I don't like to leave bad reviews, Smog King Fairfield is not a business I would recommend. I was in their area and needed an oil change. They popped up as a location near me and off I went. It's not in the best part of town, but didn't think much of it. Honestly, I didn't even get a change to talk to any one, or use their services. When I arrived, I saw Smog King employees engaging in, what looked to be drug deals. A car would pull up, an employee hands cash through a window, and the driver hands over a package. To be fair, I'm not 100% it was a drug deal I witnessed, but it made a negative first impression on me and did not make me feel safe, or trust in the work Smog King would have done on my vehicle. Now a days with every place being short staff I was expecting the shop to say I needed an appointment but when I called the guy who picked up was very nice and said I could just come over for a smog. Once I arrived the place was a bit busy but I was able to get help right away. The guy who helped me was very friendly. Never have I had such welcoming and fast service. it's cool they're open on a Sunday no shops are open so that was a plus everywhere else charges 40+ dollars for a smog, these people think its cool to charge $70 for a smog I had a coupon that would've took it down to 41 bucks but it had to be "printed" why I don't know it wasn't any barcodes or nothing owner was probably just being a a**hole I would understand if the coupon had a barcode or something like that but it literally would've been just a screenshot and a piece of paper. Wow the guys here are always moving! The pricing is great, super affordable and so they can get busy, but once your cars on the testing block it's pretty quick! I learned from my mechanic that these guys will find any little thing to not pass you. I took my vehicle in fire a smog and it didn't pass. I took my car back to the mechanic and they said nothing wrong. So I took it across the street to another smog shop and it passed no problem. read more

Ahh, death, taxes and SMOG checks! Three absolutes in life, when you live in Cali and still drive an internal combustion car. I snagged a coupon in the local newspaper...prices here were knockin' the pants off my usual smog place. So, I thought I'd give 'em a shot with two of my 5 cars (all of which required smog at the same time, ugh!). Wish I'd known of them sooner for all 5 of my bobsleds. Technician Sergio got me right in on a Sunday morning and took great care of me with my old-ish '96 SUV. The shop certainly doesn't look like the Ritz Carlton of smog stations, but don't let looks deceive you. They're a Star Certified shop. And they're open 7 days a week as of this review. (Actually it's 1 of very few smog stations opened on Sundays within a wide radius). For this reason, it's best to get there early, especially on the weekends (and esp. Sundays) as they can get real busy. Also, make sure your car's in proper mechanical order, as they can't perform miracles on cars that aren't up to State codes. The shop looks to be my new go-to for biannual smog certs. read more

I understand it's a small, personal business but, it could be way more well kept. It's really dirty, dusty but, REALLY affordable. $40 for a SMOG. The bathroom is really nasty also. I came here without a coupon so I was a little irked knowing that I'd be paying more, but I didn't even mention it: $4 savings isn't worth the time or hassle. The place was super close to my kids school. I called ahead and they picked up immediately, gave me a straight price and said they were open. Perfect. I drove right in and they were waiting for me: great. 1 star less because they weren't wearing masks (for covid) even when sitting in my car, plus the whole place smells like cigarette smoke: maybe just smoke outside guys? Talk about efficient service. From the moment I call they picked up within a few rings and I was able to be told that I can come in and they were only a few cars ahead of me. By the time I got there there was only one car ahead of me and they were able to efficiently and professionally process that vehicle for a smog check and get me in shortly there after. They seem very proficient at their jobs and were extremely professional and friendly. The checkout was extremely easy the check-in was also easy. Their prices were competitive and I appreciated the professionalism all the way around. Regardless if my car pass smog or not I think I would've still given a great review because they are great at their jobs and it's not their fault if my car would've not passed smog. Luckily for me my car passed smog I paid and I went on my way unfortunately my phone battery and storage was low otherwise I definitely would've taken a picture of the exterior. First impression was not good, cars parked every which way. Guy wanted me to park in the back, aka mud puddles. Told me to wait inside and he be with me shortly. After a few minutes of waiting, looked outside found him working on his truck out back. Finally came in after waiting another several minutes. Then the other tech came in and told me "car passed and was ready".. That's great news, except I haven't given them my car key. Had a coupon from another shop which they will take but had some lame excuse why they won't. I would recommend this place if it was your only option. The actual smog check was fast and efficient. Found an ad in the Breeze Monthly for a Sunday Special. Only $22 for a smog + about $8 for the certificate. Can't beat that price. The place is located right next door to Yo Sushi, and easy to find... parking however is horrible... When I arrived there was cars parked in every which direction I almost wasn't sure which way to drive in or where to park. The lady that works there is really nice however and we had a nice little chat while she helped me get set up with the forms. The lobby is a bit dumpy looking, but I was in and out of there in less that 15 minutes so I didn't have to wait long anyways. They do have cameras set up about the building with a TV in the lobby so you can actually watch how they handle your vehicle without ever having to leave the lobby. Pretty convenient. I Don't think I believe these bad reviews. Smog King is a test only center, they don't sell parts. There is also a HUGE sign that clearly states that you'll still be charged the inspection fee even if it fails. And a few new parts doesn't mean that your car is going to pass smog inspection. Place is decent if you're looking for a quick smog check, and they usually have an ad with a coupon somewhere amongst the junk mail you get every week, which if you find one can save you anywhere from $30~$50 read more

This place is horrible!. The worse customer service I've ever experience. The manager have no manners. They even got aggressive with us and even threatened us by telling us he knows where I live since he had my address, all because I refused to pay the regular price because I had the coupon but it was not printed. They want to scam by misleading the website coupon policy. I'll be filling out a police report for him threating us. Is not worth saving a few dollars if you need deal with this low kind of people. However, the manager assisted me with every step of the way to ensure I pass the 2nd smog in which I did.
