Quite surprised that entrepreneurial people would start a food business during this pandemic, but they did and in just a few short days it is over the top popular! This lunch was pretty good! My coworker picked up lunch for us from the Smoked Asian today. I got the brisket sandwich combo with Mac salad. The brisket was nice, very tender but lacked flavor. The bbq sauce tasted fairly generic, but still tasty. The Mac salad was awesome, had pieces of brisket and crisp veggies. It was my favorite part. One coworker got the veggie fried rice and commented on the nice portion size, absolute unit of veggies included (and well-cooked), but wished there was more sauce and flavor in the rice. The other coworker gave the brisket fried rice and gave it a 7/10. He liked the "clean" tasting rice but also wished for more flavor. A theme, here. A bit of spice would also have been appreciated by him. Overall, we made quick work of the meal. It absolutely wasn't bad and I'd probably give it another shot some time. We had it with pulled pork and I don't know how they did it but it literally tasted like a philly cheese steak. The BBQ sauce is where the "Asian" came in, Imagine a Hoisin reduction with chinese 5 spice, and vinegar. We got the basic pancit which is exactly what you get, Great tasting noodles, and maybe some vegis, no meat , Although having an option to do so... Lumpias, great Asian concept with bbq meats, other than that, ehhh... BBQ beans, I dont care where in the south you're from, these aint no BBQ beans. It was like bean and BBQ sauce soup. Longanisa, Not juicy and sticky like homemade (no prob). Instead its smoky with a crunchy "skin" aka Casing, and very tasty Longanisa inside. What pisses me off most is the serving size of sides. Our Poulsbo area go-to for bbq/Asian fusion ... which may sound odd but proves over and again to be a wonderful combo! We most frequently get the Smoked Asian Noodles with crispy-fried pork belly and also like their sandwich array -- especially the Filipino Philly. I've lived in the Midwest and this is good barbecue. Also a word on the lumpia. Holy smokes - Filled with meat abs lightly wrapped and fried making for a nice crispy bite. The meat is fall of the bones good . The garlic rice is insane. We've had the ribs, beef Kare-Kare, pulled pork sandwich and pork rice bowl. All were amazing! For sides I didn't love the Macaroni salad but it was still good.
