My parents and I visited this place while exploring this town and we all unanimously agreed that this was the BEST seafood we have ever eaten. The biggest highlight of the dinner had to be the 1.25lb Lobster and the Tiramisu. Both were to die for. Our servers were also very friendly and the service was very quick which was a welcome surprise for how busy the restaurant was. While the dinner came out to be rather expensive, it was definitely worth the price. I would 100% recommend eating here. read more

Went here for my husband's birthday. The lobster bisque was out of this world good. It had sherry in it and a lot of sweet and delicious lobster chunks. The bang bang shrimp were definitely banging; crispy and tasty. The bread could have been better. A bit over cooked. I like mine lighter and softer. I had the salmon for my entree and it was cooked to perfection. I would have just added a little seasoning other than salt and pepper. The garlic spinach was nice and garlicky just like I like it. We enjoyed the shrimp fried rice as well. My husband had a seafood grill platter... it had stuffed shrimp, lobster tail, haddock and crab cake. He was able to substitute something that came on there for more shrimp. But I don't think they substituted it, they just omitted it because he only had two shrimp on the plate. But he enjoyed the meal. The restaurant is cute and the staff are extremely nice. They make you feel welcome. They gave my hubby some ice-cream and wrote happy birthday on the plate and put a candle in it. It was a nice touch. He was so full he didn't want dessert but he tasted the ice cream and loved how creamy it was. It was from a local place. It took us an hour and twenty minutes to get there from CT each way but it was worth the drive. We will return with family and friends. read more

Went for dinner on Saturday evening. We were seated on time. The wait staff was friendly and prompt - no problem. I ordered the baked haddock - 29.99. The haddock had little to no flavor, and there was too much water on the plate which would indicate that the haddock was prepared from frozen and not fresh. For a restaurant specializing in seafood and boasting of its exceptional food, it was disappointing. I've had better haddock in other Worcester restaurants for a much lesser price, and fresh. Ambiance was good for a busy night, but I doubt I'll be back for the haddock or other baked fish. Overall, I'd have to give the Sole a "C" read more

Phenomenal seafood feast!!! Cherry stones are the highlights of the night for sure. The steamers are pretty good too but some were quite small. The lobster bisque was only a B... way too creamy! More lobster pieces and flavor would be better. Oysters were excellent!!! Big and juicy!!! Tasted fresh!! The dessert was awesome too! Went with my friends Frank and Bruce, for a quick meal. Immediately met by Mark the bartender who treated me like i was a long lost relative. Wow, so impressed with the service, decor a+. Made me think I was in Boston, as nothing in this city is that upscale like "the Big" city. Overwhelmed with the menu selections available, and the bartender was much like the tv series cheers. So friendly, and Johhny on the spot for your drinks. Upscale, and you're going to find "McDonalds" prices, but when you leave, you will not feel like you just ate at Mickey D's either. read more

I have been a resident of Worcester for over 40 years and have been a customer for years I recently was given a gift card of $100 by a client. I went to the restaurant with a colleague and presented the gift card at the end of the meal. I was advised that the card had a zero balance I showed the waiter the receipt and the envelope. The card receipt clearly demonstrating this was a $100 gift card that had been paid , the manager came over and stated that there must be a mistake on my part since this card must've been used since there is no balance. I said this was not possible, but was totally embarrassed how I was treated. A number of years ago, I had a Questionable experience where I was charged twice on my American Express card For the same dinner complaining to American Express I was able to get a receipt for the overcharge. I visited on the advice of a local. after a visit to the Worcester Art Museum. It was the perfect choice: easy parking, friendly greeters and waitstaff, great ambiance, delicious food. My shrimp scampi exceeded expectations. My dining partner, who is very picky, loved her baked haddock. Two small quibbbles; her broccoli she considered "burnt" while the server explained it was a byproduct of the roasting, which made sense. My clam chowder had far too many potatoes in it; I could barely find the clams. Not enough to detract from the experience, however. I will be back! read more

5 stars! We went for Mother's Day, had a reservation, sat us immediately. Service was impeccable. Food was amazing. Not a single complaint, and we ate a lot! A note of praise for servers: one of them removed the oyster tray with one single oyster remaining, she didn't notice it. We were like "oh well"...10 seconds later the waiter returned with the tray in his hand! He had caught it. We thought that was incredible, could've easily just chucked it. Wow wow wow!!! This is an amazing seafood place in Worcester. Downsides are parking is tough and when we went it was so crowded so we were thankful that we had a reservation and only other downside it was a bit loud. But besides though things the food was amazing and the service was just as good. Went with a few friends so we were able to try a variety of food. The menu has a great variety of seafood, sushi, fried food and salads. I had the fish tacos and it was cooked perfectly, sweet from the pineapple slaw and had just the right amount of spice. The other dishes that were ordered was the poke bowl which was fresh, the baked haddock which was cooked perfect and very tasty, the salmon Rangoon which was cooked great and even tastier so delicious, and the seafood Cobb salad which was huge! And we also ordered the bang bang shrimp which had a good kick to them but just the right amount and the crab cakes which were moist and so flavorful. The Sole is a little pricey but totally worth the price for a delicious seafood dinner. read more

Not gonna lie, this food is really bad and incredibly overpriced. I ordered the Filet and Lobster Tail for dinner. I asked for the filet to be medium. The filet came out grilled with dark char marks and was definitely overcooked, rather tough and chewy, and not tender at all like a real filet mignon. The lobster tail came out smothered in butter and was chewy and definitely overcooked. Rather disgusting, and upsetting, as almost always the butter comes on the side rather than being poured on. The meal came with 3 sticks of Asparagus, which is a joke, considering it cost $50! Both the filter and lobster tail were oversalted. Overall this is some of the worst food I've had. This is slightly better than Applebees or Chilli's, but you're also paying 3x the price! Just don't go here. read more

The prices are exceptionally high for food that is at best subpar. The haddock was dry and had no taste. The veggie were cold and I had to send them back. The atmosphere was not pleasant. Happened to be in town for a training at WPI on the same week as Worcester restaurant week. A classmate and I decide to go check this place out. Based on what we were told by others, they serve good food and they have a big *$$ crab on the roof....enough said. We were quite tired from the training and wanted to see if they would allow us to order food to go from their restaurat week menu. Surprisingly, they said yes. The transaction was seamless and the service was superb. Fifteen minutes later, our food was ready and good to go. Just like that. For the 25.18 bill I got: 5 bread rolls and lots of butta: solid carbs is always a good thing Wedge salad: nothing fancy, but a good use of black sesame, not overpowering but enough to give it a nice little compliment to the dressing. Buster sushi roll: interesting flavors and textures. I have never had blue crab before and found the meat to be quite good. Was satisfied with the pick. Halibut and beans...for lack of a better word. Solid halibut cheek that was cooked well. Texture of the meat plus the seasoning in top was quite nice. The beans were amazing and played well with the rest of the dish. Also came with some mussels which were cooked amazingly. Super fresh and not one trace of sand in anybody the mussels. Overall, a great place and kudos for allowing customers to take your restaurant week menu items to-go. My coworker wad thinking about going back again tomorrow. Always a good sign read more

Great Experience! We had a reservation which I recommend. We were seated right away. Drink selection was good, I had a great Chardonnay and my wife had a a nice Riesling. We ordered appetizers, calamari and muscles and my son ordered his fish and chips. Everything was tasty, hot and abundant. Next we ordered the clam chowder and it was very nice, meaty and thick. By that time we were realizing that neither of us could eat an entire entree. Rather than wasting food (we couldn't take leftovers to our hotel) we split an order of risotto with lobster. It was done perfectly with nice chunks of lobster meat. Finishing was enough that the dessert was a no-go but my son had the flourless chocolate cake and he loved it. Overall great experience. This on is on our list of places to return. We will also be going to the sister restaurants in Mass. Big fan of this place! read more

I went here for dinner with my wife and we had a great experience overall! We started out with a couple rounds of the cherry stones and although they were delicious and fresh they were too big to be actual cherry stones which didn't make what we had as flavorful as it should have been. I'll post a picture for reference. For appetizers we had the Spanish octopus which was my favorite, the crunchy tuna rolls which were good, and I had the poke' tuna which was disappointing. The poke tuna didn't seem as fresh as it should have been which negatively impacted the flavor a fair amount. My wife had the steak and lobster tail special which was delicious and a great value! Our drinks were great and I especially enjoyed the Spencer Trappist ale! For dessert we had the cream Brule and the tiramisu which were delicious! The tiramisu was perfect!!! Five stars for the tiramisu! We had a great evening and will definitely be returning since all my experiences here over the years have been outstanding! read more

Got food poisoning from their oysters before. It's a nice seafood restaurant though. The staff are nice and the inside of the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. They do have good service. Parking can be a bit crowded if you come on a day that is busy. I do like when they add the giant crab on top of the building. I think it makes the outside of the building fun read more

The food is always good and I only got bad service there one time. Because its a busy restaurant I don't recommend for date nights because you'll be in and out very fast and won't have time to enjoy. Also, their sodas aren't very carbonated. read more

Butter poach lobster special (Monday to Thursday) - $25 - a fair amount of lobster for the price, plus you usually get french fries, coleslaw & a soup or salad. It's literally lobster meat in butter sauce with some light breadcrumb type topping. Yummm!!! Coleslaw - average - nothing fancy but still good. I got a double portion - if you substitute the french fries or coleslaw for any other side item, it's a $3 up charge. Lobster bisque ($8 up charge from the daily soup, and $1 up charge for clam chowder) - this was flavorful, not watery, and had chunks of lobster! Kudos!!! This was all to go. Parking seemed almost full, though there looked to be close by parking. read more

The Sole represents its self as a high class, fancy seafood restaurant. Now for reference, I have been here twice and ordered Salmon two times. The first time I ordered their Miso Salmon which was not available the next time I came. The second time I ordered the Atlantic Salmon seared. Both times the fish was severely overcooked and overall lacking flavor. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a seafood restaurant to know how to cook salmon properly, especially considering what they are charging per meal. I was hugely disappointed in the quality of the food and the only reason they are getting two stars instead of one is because their service was relatively decent. Don't waste your money coming here, New England has WAY better seafood places read more

Sole has been our go to dinner spot for years, in all honesty we stopped going as frequently during all the Covid crap because the vibe was weird and their menu was so chopped down. We've been a few times since and each time I do feel like it's getting back to how it used to be. The menu seems to be back to its larger options and the place is always packed when we go. We went this past weekend and had a great time. We ordered draft beer and red sangria to start, the sangria was so tasty. Starters were white wine mussels which were fabulous, no sand, very meaty and it was appreciated when the waitress brought us some steaming hot towels to clean up afterwards. We also did the lobster bisque which is very filling; creamy and surprisingly very abundant with lobster, we had two whole claws and more in our bowl. For meals we ordered the filet & lobster tail and the seafood sauté. We both orders the house salad as a side, I usually get a Caesar but the up charge was $7!? Seems over the top so I declined. I was pleasantly surprised with the house salad, it was a new one; apple cider vinegarette over spring lettuce. It was the perfect blend of sweet and fresh, going to attempt copying it at home! Our meals were extremely delicious but I do feel like the portions are getting smaller and smaller each time we go. I think many would agree to keep portion sizes and raise the price if it's necessary. My husband got the filet (medium rare) and lobster tail. The meat was so tender you could cut it with your fork. The mashed potato's are always SO good, very buttery and smooth. I ordered the seafood sauté, I was torn between that and the lobster linguine that was one the special lobster fest menu. My meal was stacked with seafood but there wasn't an even ratio of squid ink pasta or sauce. I ended up being too full to eat more than a few bites so I took it home and reheated it with some butter and white wine and it was really tasty. I think it would be a great meal if they sauced it a bit more. We grabbed the cheese cake to go, which we never regret. Always super rich, one piece is easily shared between 2-3ppl if you've already had apps and dinner. We'll be back :) read more

I haven't been to The Sole in many years. Today was the first Saturday they opened for lunch, and they had a good showing. Took my son. The Oysters Rockefeller and Spanish Octopus were amazing! So was the Sushi (we stayed on the lighter side for lunch). Our Server was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable (explaining the various oysters to us. My wife had to work, but we will go there for dinner very soon, and hopefully often! read more
