The Source OC is a tri-level outdoor "mall" located only a mile north of Knott's Berry Farm. There is no charge for parking in the structure. The layout is difficult to navigate. I have only been here 3 times even though it's nearby. The mall has a few Korean boutiques and Cosmetics shops. For entertainment: CGV Cinemas, OG Zone, Ultimate Esport and EKO Karaoke Lounge. There are several eateries on each level including: Yoshiharu Ramen, Main St. Pho, DPOT, Fifty One, Yang's Braised Chicken Rice and more. If you're craving something sweet there are many dessert shops: Cheesetella, Okbingsul, Mochinut, Honey Mee plus others. In the mood for coffee or boba check out: Ding Tea, Gong Cha, TBaar, In-Sit Coffee, or Basilur Tea & Coffee. I don't find this mall that appealing but some might like it because of the various dining and shopping options. read more

We came here for the Korean hotdog place, but I found a whole lot of other businesses and restaurants that were really cool. There was a Korean product store, a Kpop store, a lot of Korean food restaurants and a few boba places. It's a really cool shopping center and it wasn't too crowded and everything was pretty covid friendly. I would totally come here again. read more

I remember The Source. I got my first issue when Puffy Daddy was on the scene dancing in his videos. Oh wait... Never mind. If you are confused, don't worry you are not the only one. Maybe I'm the only one but the branding confused me. If you see a large digital billboard off the 5 freeway in Buena Park what would you think this place is The Source? Music auditorium? sport stadium? No a "shopping mall". Maybe the word shopping center or mall would be helpful. That's my free tip for the marketing consultant on this project. I found out about this place through a grand opening of the 4D movie theater. At the time nothing was open and it was a ghost town. Still to not ever space is open and it is a ghost town with a small exception when there is an event. What is this place? I ask again. The concrete walls and flooring with no symmetry anywhere. It reminded me more of the show Prison Break than a place that OC housewives would shop at. It's hard to navigate. Most malls you can see the store you want in the distance. This mall the shops are so random. There is no theme or store type. Is this a food center where is the anchor Macy's or Nordstrom's? Is this an Asian mall because I see Korean words? But then again it's popping like the world cup and a quinceanera is happening. I promise I'm not a hater just confused. It is not a colorful bright lite area like say downtown Disney, the spectrum, or fashion island. If Buena Park is considered "the OC" it doesn't look like it. Missed opportunity since it's so close to Knott's and the other great entertainment in the area. Rant over I promise. Positives. Free Parking! It can be difficult to find parking on Beach Blvd this large parking space is a plus. Holy boba! I saw Gong Cha and a few other boba spots. I've never seen so many in one place. Don't settle. I went for Ding Tea which is my new favorite. It was but of a treasure hunt trying to find it though. Also the food court was decent. It was hard for me to decide because my go to is Korean food or something spicy in most malls but Popeyes always overriding that for me. I just wanted to eat and try everything. The source is decent if you live in the area but I don't think I'd go back. People drive from all over so Cal to go to the spectrum. I really won't go out of your way for this plaza in mean source. The food and not crowdedness was attractive to me but it just needs more light, better shops, and branding. read more

I love the Kpop related stores here, as well as a pretty decent food court. The place has potential. The issue is its not intuitively laid out...and still seems partly in construction mode. Not all the shops are filled yet, it took me literally 15 minutes to find a bathroom (signs pointing nowhere? And bathrooms "under maintenance") and the escalators seem like they are leading you out versus keeping you in. Still it's a work in progress and will improve. read more

Seeing the Source grow from a place where there were no businesses to what it is now is simply inspiring. This is your go-to place if you want to indulge. If you like KPOP, they got many things for you. If you like K-Skincare, they got a few shops. Prior to Covid, they were even one of the two places in SoCal that had a CGV Korean Cinemas. The Food Court is also really innovative and has a lot of different eateries. I always show my friends from out of town this place and they all seem to enjoy it. The scary part is that it's not even done expanding, so I'm looking forward to eventually how this shopping center is going to pan out. From being empty for almost an entire year to what it is now is nothing short of a miracle. Call me impressed. I can't wait to come here regularly again once Covid dies down. read more

I don't recommend eating in the food court in the 2nd floor. Overpriced compared to quality. You can't bring any food to the court. Some weird women is watching the customer if they are eating outside food even we are waiting for their food. Too loud ringbell sound. I would come here just for the Yeonan restaurant at the food court. Their most famous "baby clam bibimbap"is same as the one I had in Korea. Also, "School food " is a must visit place for casual Korean snack food dining experience. After dining, I always get some Gongcha with half sweet. Seems like half deserted. Only part of the stores are open. Some store owners are very friendly and some not too much. There's a food court each with different offerings. The mochi donuts were not worth the hype or price. If you haven't had one, just get ONE at first. The Korean restaurant behind the food court next to the KBBQ is good. They changed their menu a little. Serving portions are half and price is UP! Want to try the Brazilian and Italian place but never see it open. Lots of parking. Bathrooms are a mess! There's the Korean hotdogs on a stick 1st floor and had some customers, haven't tried it yet. If you have an hour to walk around and try something, give it a go. read more

I feel like an hour or so here is good, it looks huge but when you start walking around it's pretty small, but I love the spacey atmosphere. There's pretty wall arts throughout the place. Went here for the first time this past Thursday (my friends suggested it as a hangout place). The plaza/mall has three levels, I believe, and a parking structure connected to it. The top level is mostly food and dining. The second and first are a mix of food and shops. The prices are on the $$ side. A lot of items and clothes are imported, and nothing really special. This mall has a lot of empty space. While there are stores that sell cute, unique items, there is still a limited number of places to check out. read more

This is my new favorite place!!! I can't believe this was my first time here because I'm in love. I love all things Korean and this place brings back such memories of being in Korea (except without the crowds and the madness). My family and I spent a couple hours here strolling around, eating dinner, and watching a movie on a Friday night, and it actually felt pretty empty. Great selection of shops and food with a CGV (which means movies with Korean subtitles)!! Clean layout, AMPLE PARKING in a giant lot, and great vibes. I LOVE the foodcourt and the options there and will definitely be back to try more of the food. This review is for the FOOD COURT on the 2nd floor So I was kind of going back and forth on whether I sould post this review or not. I certainly don't want anyone to lose their job over this. I just wanted to hop on here and say though that the other day my husband and I , together with both our young daughters (ages 3 and 1) went to The Source to enjoy a joint day off (which is super rare these days since we are both working as full time nurses) . We brought our daughters to enjoy a full day at Play Pie which was awesome! However, at around 5pm both our kids were exhausted and wanted to have something to eat. We decided to go to the second floor food court and get fast food. We were famished. My kids were already agitated and tired , and were fighting and crying at this point. The general manager (who I will not name) came over and asked us to calm our kids. We said we would try. So I talked to them (mind you they are 3 years and 1 year of age) . I took out my phone so they could either play games or watch youtube. Whatever works. They were still tired and hungry and wouldn't stop crying. (I admit my one year old can be loud and it might have been annoying to this general manager) . Not long after, maybe in just around 3 minutes, he came back to us and asked us again to quiet them down or else he would have to throw us out of the restaurant. This was my breaking point so to speak. I asked him his name and he responded by reiterating that he is "general manager" of the food court. What angers me is that if he were a good general manager (like he portrays to be), he would have come up to us amiable and with solutions . Perhaps talk to the kids nicely or give them some coloring sheets. Or at the very least give us more than 3 minutes to settle down our hungry kids. Come now . Our "fast" food hasn't even arrived yet. It's not like it's a five star restaurant. I ordered an omelette for crying out loud. And to make things worse there were only two other tables that were occupied. The food court was basically empty. The sad part here is if the situation was reversed and he was admitted to our hospital and had brought with him two crying kids, I would never in a million years have told him to leave the hospital and seek medical care elsewhere. I understand he may not be a bad person and there was the cultural difference, but even if this is how things were for him growing up I still believe empathy is universal. My screaming daughter is one year old. And it is pretty obvious it takes more than just talking and definitely a little more than 3 mins to calm a hungry baby. That's all. No hate here. I just wanted to say "Not Cool!" read more

Second time @ the source. First time eating at the Main Street place. I ordered the house special & it was delish, a recommended dish. The Dpot is a really great dine in. Highly recommend coming here with family & friends. Dessert galore, & dishes are perfect & healthy. NEVER EAT AT THE 2nd FLOOR FOOD COURT. My friend and I had a horrible time eating at Chicken Time. Our orders came out wrong. The person picking up in front of us asked for extra utensils for her plate. Lady refused.. only one set of utensils per plate. I asked for a plate to eat my food, answer was "no". Asked for extra napkins, we were given 4 thin pieces small napkins. We asked for side of sauce and was told it was extra cost. Later a man asked for extra forks for his wife and small child, he made that begging gesture before lady gave him 2 forks for his family meal. I thought he was begging for free food. I asked for a box to-go, was told to get it in the front kiosk, $0.50 cash per container... who has cash now a days? Then we left and lady yelled at us to clean up our sh^t... pointed to the discrete area where all your plate and trays goes (apparently is a self cleanup place). So to summarize our experience... I ate my meal on 2 pieces of napkins(no plates), we had to "steal" an extra chopstick. I to clean up my area with oil soaked used napkins. This is where you feel sad for the business. It's slowly and painfully dying. There's so many great places to eat at the Source, you don't have to go the 2nd floor food court. Good luck to all the businesses in that 2nd floor food court. This must be months of bad business decisions that has spilled over to your customers. It takes a lot of hard work and resources to create a business, must be difficult to step back and look at where it is going. read more

A wonderful Korean shopping center in OC. There are food courts, standalone restaurants, K-POP album shops, and cosmetic shops galore. I love walking around and stopping by these little shops. I love how the mall is structured too - there are tons of places where you can sit, drink, and eat. There's also free parking so that's always a plus! read more
